I was thinking about connecting the charger to the rear tail light connector.. Less headache compared to opening the headlight assembly. What do you suggest?Originally posted by ginzon View Post

I don't find any oil marks in ideal condition at my parking place...I could only see the oil drops when I pass over a hump...will observe next time to find out where they are coming from.Originally posted by sanjeet286 View PostThe oil leakage and petrol tank linkage makes no sense to me personally. I would recommend to keep the bike at a place with no stains and observe next day morning for leakages. If it's nearly the front sprocket or chain, the it could be because of chain lube. Else, get down on your knees and figure out where the oil is coming from.

Then it looks like the oil stain was always there and you think it's coming from the bike :-). Or try going another hump and check if the stains are coming back. It's all about trial and error to find the root cause :-)Originally posted by Gary24 View PostI don't find any oil marks in ideal condition at my parking place...I could only see the oil drops when I pass over a hump...will observe next time to find out where they are coming from.

Completely problem of low tyre pressure. If your running at a constant low Tyre pressure because of the hefty bike weight does this for your tyre. If your on puncture please check tyre pressure and get it filled untill you get the puncture fixed(asap). Now i think you should be getting the tyre replaced. For activa and all if this happens and you need cheaper option for time being a tube will be installed and you can run for few more miles, but D400 I wouldn't suggest.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I wasn't sure whether that would take the load, my charger wire was quite thick and felt would offer more resistance and since the LED set up comes via regulator not sure it would supply the needed juice.. I can definitely be wrong, you can verify, try it out and let know.. I'll be more than happy to change it to the tail light set up...Originally posted by TheQuarterMile View PostI was thinking about connecting the charger to the rear tail light connector.. About the oil, you are on Total oil provided by your SVC, it goes to 10k km.. So no need to change now, only next service...
I am on Motul 7100 since my 1st service, interval of change is every 5k kms.. Also note, I needed a 100ml top up at 2.5k kms (I did it at home)..
About warranty, Bajaj SVC says it would void, and I do not understand why coz it passes all the needed grade for oil..
I read a blog and it mentioned that Vehicle Brand says bull$hit about recommended oil BRAND, the grade and specs are important and must be met..
About: Motul 7100 10w50 API SN/JASO MA2
Dominar Recommended: API SL/JASO MA2
So any oil that is SN is SL compatible, SN is higher and mandatory to be backwards compatible..
Also, JASO MA2 is needed and met as that's for slipper clutch..
I feel that in India we do not have a governing body that is the only reason why they want to be a monopoly in these areas, how else would they earn after selling the bike..
Note: Usually bike engine is never impacted till 5yrs span, unless you are too hard on your revs and do not ride it right or service it timely... 5yrs and your warranty is anyways gone, what's the point of missing smoothness that you will get through Motul.. I wanted to switch to Shell but I do not see 10w50 in their list.. So till then Motul is the best for me...

Wear and tear is not covered, only manufacturing defect... Get a new set and keep your tyre pressure in check..Originally posted by Lalzova View PostDear friends,

If I remember it correctly, the number after W shouldn't be played around with, in this case 50.
One can always go for 0/5/10/15/20 W50 based on the place where he/she lives.Regards,

0/5/10/15/20W means Winter temperature (W)... Later is viscosity oil should maintain at 100°C..Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostShell does offer 15W50 Full Synthetic.

Sorry for long time absence guy, been busy with something called life.It is manufacturing defect and is covered under warranty get the claim done visit the mrf main office. Here in delhi many users have already claimed both front and rear tyre for this. They will charge you some amount for the usage or remaining rubber.Originally posted by Lalzova View PostDear friends,

Sidewall cracking is very common with mrf.Exactly where is the stain coming from can u pin point, if it is on top of chain gaurd just below the rider seat than do not worry as there is one small pipe coming from the evap unit which lets out the exess vapours sometimes the pipe is visible below the seat coming from under the body panle on the lhs.Originally posted by Gary24 View PostI have made my second visit to the service center, they said everything is ok ... they said it could be water
..but I told them that its some kind of oil .. they did check for any loose connections but couldn't find any... they have refilled the coolant and asked me to observe for a few days...hope this issue will get sorted out quickly....
No it isn't , too frequent Cleaning on other hand can be damaging for o rings, always wipe the chain before lubing it and if it is too dirty or muddy than clean it.Originally posted by ghost_riderr View PostIsnt it bad to lube the chain without properly cleaning it?
I usually clean after 2000kms or when my eyes and hands says it needs it.How can i help.Originally posted by bindyesh View PostHello friends. Any one from Nagpur . Need some help

So finally he will have to get MRF as it's warranty claim though at a cost, I would instead opt for other brand instead.. Why the same, when we know there is a problem...Originally posted by Ijs View PostThey will charge you some amount for the usage or remaining rubber.

Yes true , but again cost is major factor here. Here in delhi many have claimed the tyres after riding 15k plus kms , so if u get new set for 2500 to 3000 after riding a good number of kms , it does make economic sens one guy got new set after riding for 18k kms and he paid around 2700 only.Originally posted by ginzon View PostYes I know, just shared what I knew

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I went to the service center and I have also visited the showroom today to talk to the service engineer who gets the vehicles ready for delivery....he examined the vehicle for any leaks he couldn't find any... he told me to fill only 10 liters of petrol ... this is what they always recommend Dominar and avenger owners... then I went to the service center for two things one for the leak problem and the other is the service notification on the main display unit.... The service engineer has examined the vehicle and cleaned the area inside the fuel tank... he also showed me the pipe from where the excess fuel or evaporated fuel come out..he said it would be that... he want me to observe again for a few days... as by this time the fuel has come down a bit.... lets hope when I park my vehile today ..hope drops won't appear... but I don't understand what if I am on a long tour and I need to fill my tank ...do I need to fill half tank...that's ridiculous... the service engineer promised me that he will take care of it and will rectify... ghee+ sugar in his mouth if this happens.. Speed breaker is a nightmare for me now... I slow down my bike and then pick-up .. one way its good .. people thinking I am following road rules to the most...Originally posted by Ijs View PostSorry for long time absence guy, been busy with something called life.It is manufacturing defect and is covered under warranty get the claim done visit the mrf main office. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Guys.. I'm having a starting problem with my dominar. I've given it to service centres multiple times. Everytime they give a different reason and say they've sorted it out but It's still not sorted out. Is there any way i can escalate this to higher authority in bajaj so that it gets sorted for real.
Thanks a lot.
