    Hey guys,

In serious trouble, I was on a trip, from trivandrum to bangalore(~700KM)

I started early morning after checking oil level and other primary checks and did 180KM with out any break. Had break fast near madurai and continued for ~50km.
After breakfast, I was doing ~140KMPH, suddenly I lost power and I pulled over.

When I check the coolant was overflowing due to overheating. I waited for like 10~15 mins and check oil level, and oil was no where near the indicator glass.

The nearest service center is about ~25 km away, but I found a local workshop in 1KM and rode it till there. The local mechanic topped up oil usiing 1.75L oil.

But still the its not going beyond 35KMPH/4000rpm.

I towed it to nearest service center (Dindigul, Ram Baja), they look new to dominar, even though I found couple of dominar in the service center.

They said the clutch is burnt, But I felt the clutch is fine. Any way they replace the clutch and no improvement.

White smoke is coming when we start it first

THen they said "Engine seized sir".

I shipped it back to home via train and yet to pick it.

    What might have gone wrong?
Where did the oil go? It went empty in ~200KM.
I fed in 1.5L motul about 1 week/100KM ago. NO OIL LEAKS, oil got burnt?

Whats the worst case? Engine block? crank? valves?
    Expected cost?

Any one else faced this kind of issue?
    Guys,
After this incident, Few weeks ago I went to service center in Kerala (my home town) and gave the bike to them.
They are saying bike have no issues, they drained about 3.2L oil from the engine.
They have no clue about why I lost power and the oil being missing initially.
And warned me never to fill more than 1.5L oil and always drain and refill.

    I rode nearly 1000KM after that ,
Now when I start riding everything looks OK, no warning lights, but after 5 KM I can see the oil warning light comes ON.
    So there is some issue.

      So there is some issue.
Probably the oil pressure sensor is acting up, the thing on top of the sparkplug on the left hand side. Or simply a sensor error if it is working fine.
Do make sure that coolant is not entering the oil chamber , i missed the original post so replying on basis of current one.
If the rpm was stuck at 4k (not going beyond 4k) in your original issue then it is the temperature sensor or the radiator fan or cooling system not working properly.
As the engine goes to limp mode to prevent damage if the cooling system is not working and rpm can not cross 4k.

      Update:
Going by your original post the boiling coolant clearly points to the cooling system failure, make sure fan is working check the fuse, leave the bike at idle for 15 to 30 minutes the fan should come on.
Still if it keeps overheating ,means there is some air block in the plumbing. Get the old coolant flushed out and fill fresh one.
As you have mentioned rpm not crossing 4k rpm clearly means the limo mode due to overheating. Don't know how they missed it.
Ignore the oil pressure sensor. For now get the cooling system checked out properly.
Sorry i am not active on this thread any more but you can pm me or pm me on taptalk if you use it .

There is one red colour overheating symbol on secondary console in older Dominar, refer to your manual for same.
And if you coolant is still boiling and bike not crossing the 4k rpm mark then it is going to limp mode due to heat.
If coolant is not boiling fan is working and still not crossing 4 k then something wrong with temperature sensor or the thermostat.

If fan working and coolant still boiling then get the plumbing flushed out with distilled water.

If the stock bolts keeps crashing out again after replacing, change them with the steel ones only the upper ones on both sides which are the ones that breaks.Though mines are intact and got them replaced by the company with new ones, a friend changed them to steel ones and havent faced any issue since then.

Everyone...the post I have quoted is posted by my brother 'LordVishnu' on 12th Sep 2019 ( Page. No 838 ) on this thread. I am his elder brother, 'prasath_xbhp'. My brother has taken delivery of his green Dominar 400 UG on 23rd Sep 2019 at Khivraj Bajaj, Pallikaranai. He has done quite a few long rides and some group rides since then. Last week on 17th Nov, 2019 evening, he went for a long ride alone taking his Nikon D3500 camera with him. While returning, he has collided with the yellow steel divider on the road at the Ambur, Pachakuppam Bridge. Even though he was wearing his MT Targo Truck Helmet, he has sustained heavy injuries in his head. We had shifted him to Rajiv Ghandhi Gov General Hospital in Chennai and had done surgery in the head, by evening around 06:00PM his condition got worse and the doctors declared him dead by 06:30PM. We had completed the burial on 20th Nov, 2019. He was 27 yrs old, selected straight out of campus interview in 2012 and currently employed as 'Programmer Analyst' in Cognizant Elcot Chennai.

According to the police who attended the spot, cause of the accident is due of high speed and losing control. We have checked that there was no rear vehicle collision. The bike is currently impounded at Ambur Taluk Police Station we have taken collected his bag and the helmet from them. I have informed the showroom people that I will take the bike from there bring it here to them to proceed further.

I am a die-hard motorcycle enthusiast even more than my brother. And have been following XBHP ever since the lauch of the XBHP magazine in 2010. But I ride a Suzuki MAX100R and a Hero Splendor....Even though I don't have a high capacity bike. I believe I am a little bit more mature than him in handling and living with motorcycles in this regard. So I want to express only a positive voice in the motorcycle community.

We buried him with a couple of his Hot Wheels Cars and a MV Agusta F4 1/18 Red Colour Maisto Scale Model.

I will post pictures of the bike and the helmet by maybe tomorrow.....plz keep checking this thread and refer to other fellow bikers also.
Please accept my condolences to you and your family for this heartbreaking loss.May the departed soul merges with the universe. What you shared surely lets all of us learn that its not just about wearing a helmet or gears but also to have control on your vehicle.Prayers for your family to have strength.

Doesn't work on kms, change it when it goes bad, or you have any difficulty in clutch action. Clean it with zorric or wd40 if there is too much grease.

I've got my first service done with Kanchan bajaj at chembur this weekend. A few things I'd like to highlight and a few queries:
                            1) The bike pulls towards the right, has anyone had a solution for this issue? I can live with the problem but would be nice to have it resolved
                            2) I asked for the service center guys to upgarde the ECU so the gear indicator is displayed in the primary screen as well, those guys flashed my ECU and realised that they didn't have the latest file to upload. The bike wouldn't start up after that. The service manager had to go to thane to get a different device to get the ECU updated (only to the older version, because for some reason he couldn't update it to the newer version and after 3 hours I didn't have the patience to keep trying). After leaving the service center I realised that my DRL (upper and lower) lights were interchanged and now every time I use the flasher the lower light flashes and the upper light is on constantly as the DRL I believe this will be resolved if I update the ECU properly from a different service center, which I will do soon.
                            3) In lower RPMs everytime I decelerate there's this sound of a misfire, something similar to what I've heard in so many royal enfields but on a very lower intensity. I've completed approx 750 kms. Is this normal? This was present from day 1.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

                              Hi All.

I wanted to update you on the sales and service situation here in Mumbai. The Executive Bajaj Showroom on Malad West has disappeared, or shut down. Its been like this for last few months. Their service center seems to be shutting down too. Spares are not available anywhere, except some distributor for the whole of Mumbai. Their call center is pointless since it is a dumb 1 way communication, and there is no way they update their information or forward to the company management.

The Bajaj website still shows Executive Bajaj Malad as an authorised sales and service center, but i have serious doubts about this. They are out of even basic essentials like engine oil. The service center is winding down, and there were barely any vehicles when i visited.

I would advice anyone against buying the Dominar for now, but you can decide for yourself by visiting any service center and asking about the spares situation.

I can second this regarding executive since they were here at ghatkopar/kurla as well, but their service and showroom are shut for the moment as well. But I think autoden mahim is a good option if you wanna buy the bike
