Any owner in Kolkata can recommend a mechanic who can properly install handle bar raisers? I have already ordered the raisers from Carbon Racing.

That seems decent, with the kind of heat bigger engines generate I thought semi synthetics gonna barely last upto 2000 Kms.Originally posted by #bpk View Post3000 kilometers maximum.2005 HH Karizma [SOLD]

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
This is simple video I have made on the concept of preloading the gear shifter to give you smooth and precise gear shifts while riding the bike.
Preloading works on every Motorcycle and it is really beneficial if you are experiencing notchy, cluncky gears or facing false neutral.
Don't have the vlogging set up so this is the best i can do with my current set-up.
Hope it will help you improve your gear shifts.

2800k to 3000k is a good engine oil replacement interval, daily use and dusty conditions, riding style also factor in replacement a few hundred kays early. But, the above is a decent ballpark.Originally posted by Greymatter View PostThat seems decent, with the kind of heat bigger engines generate I thought semi synthetics gonna barely last upto 2000 Kms.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
10,000 for fully synthetic oil. SLightly lower for semi-synth. Anything lower is just manufacturers trying to sell more of their crude. Couuld be earlier if oil turns a very dark brown, or viscosity is low.Originally posted by Greymatter View PostWhat should be the ideal drain interval of semi synthetic engine oil if used in our D400?
Without looking at the color and viscosity of the oil, it is pointless to change oil. 2-3k oil change was okay 2 decades ago, not in today's age. In case your oil is turning dark at that km, you have faulty spark plugs or a problem with the combustion.
Iam surprised blackthorn is recommending such a low interval even with harsh riding conditions.Last edited by Indivar; 12-05-2019, 10:32 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
you use fully synthetic oil for 10000 kms? Here are some questions, just general curiosity
1. Which bike?
2. Riding style?
3. How much oil is left after you drain it?
4. Do you topup in between?
5. which oil?Originally posted by Indivar View Post10,000 for fully synthetic oil. SLightly lower for semi-synth. Anything lower is just manufacturers trying to sell more of their crude. Couuld be earlier if oil turns a very dark brown, or viscosity is low.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes fs can last that long, but can be changed around 5 to 7.5k interval. As we live in very dusty environment the oil gets dirty around this time. I know many who have and still replace oil in Dominar at 10k kms. For semi synthetic in Dominar the level starts to reduce around 3000 kms so it needs to be topped up or replaced. Semi in Something like a Dominar would burn at a faster rate.Originally posted by #bpk View Post10 k kilometers for synthetic oil !!!

Never drained after 1st service, 7700 km only in 3 years. Oil is factory recommended and still a nice transparent yellowish-brown. This should easily run to 10k as per factory recommended interval. Never topped up yet, neither does service center feel i should.
Been facing some missed gear shifts recently, but its more of an issue with the clutch or cable adjustment rather. Engine runs quite smooth. Only reason i see to change is the oil shelf life - its 3 years so age is a factor.Last edited by Indivar; 12-06-2019, 04:55 PM.

I have. A doubtOriginally posted by Domigreen View PostI am owning a d400ug my bikes oil colour changes to thick black form after 3000-4000km

Its mentioned that dominar has a tank capacity of 13L.
Its also says that 3L of UNUSABLE fuel for Fi pump
So is it true that we are only getting an actual of 10L tank usable fuel?
So if we get an average milage of say 30kmpl
What will the tank range?
1)10*30=300km
2)13*30=390km
Please help me out?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Shelf life is exactly that, life of oil when kept on a shelf. Mineral or ss oils have a usable life of around 6 months after which they start degrading naturally because of the organic base. So if you are on mineral or ss, whether you use the vehicle or not, ideally it needs to be replaced every 6 months min. 1 yr period can be considered for fs oils.Originally posted by Indivar View PostSorry about your loss prasath.
