Hi guys. I own 2017 dominar. It's already done 21 k. Now i am noticing oil leakage. Let me explain. Service center guys replaced main oil drain bolt they test driven for 3 km and said all okay. But i notice leakage after riding 40-50 kms., Again reported the issue. They kept my bike for 3 days checks all possible bolts and opening that could cause oil leakage. They test ridden 10 kms and said all ok. I observed wax like gum applied on all bolts under the engine.
Again I observed single drop in bottom middle portion of engine belly after riding 40 -50 kms.
Note- i left my bike for 10 days with out riding it and i didn't observe any oil leakage. It happens only when i ride my bike more than 30 kms in the other word may be when the engine oil become thin and heated enough.
I will take my bike to same service center after 2 weeks. Please advise me what shall i ask them to look for. Do you guys have any idea where this oil leakage.
I don't want to share pics, as soon as i put on side stand that single drop from the bottom of engine belly run towards left part of engine and accumulate at the tip of oil drain bolt that may mislead you guys.

The suspect in this case could be the secondary oil strainer bolt. A damaged O ring or a cracked bolt. The oil drain bolts are made of softer metal. I too had managed to crack the main drain bolt.

I can totally understand your frustration, Dominar is not a bad bike but how it gets treated by SVC that has ruined the bike reputation.

And yes, these Bajaj/KTM SVC's in Bangalore are only worth to handle Pulsar 150's and Discover 100's.
Each time you leave the bike for service they skip tightening half of the fairing bolts, over tight the chain, over tighten bolts which shear the bolt head, not drain the 3rd oil bolt etc etc etc.

It's something that I've come to live with all these years with Bajaj/KTM bike, just learnt to do DIY and do a through check myself after each service and fix missing things, adjust the bike afterwards to my liking whatever they had messed and revert it previous known good spec.

Instead of giving up on your bike, try to learn small things about your bike and fix them yourself or go to a good known 3rd party bike service points like Xtorque, Highlander, GearGear after Warranty period.

As a guy who bought RS 200 I second this. Remember, the RS was the flagship bike in Bajaj's stable before the Dominar came along, and we RS owners had to put up (we still have to) with this subpar experience given by Bajaj after sales.

5 years after launch, I still haven't seen any good Bajaj SVC here that can properly listen to and give better service to the KTM/Domi/RS customers.

In the beginning I did the same as our friend here, complaining and going to SVC multiple times in a single day. In the end, it was useless as no matter where I went, I would get the same dreaded "Sir this is normal behavior" response.

So I started learning and doing stuff on my own. I downloaded manuals and watched tons of DIY videos. Today I no longer have to rely on the pathetic service guys from bajaj (unless something major goes bad). I do all the regular maintenance like oil change, chain cleaning and lubing. I have even done advanced service like cleaning the throttle body and air filter by completely removing the fairings myself at home. At first, it seems daunting and uncertain, you will make mistakes, but you will eventually learn the proper way. I say to all the guys who own liquid cooled fuel injected bikes, to have at least this basic knowledge so you don't always have to rely on someone else. It strengthens the bond you have with your motorcycle, it becomes something more than just a machine that takes you from A to B.

Sorry for the long post. Happy riding all!

In my opinion, your post is not lengthy at all. Posts like these motivate us to enter the DIY universe. Hope you are disposing off the oil at your nearest garage.

Hey, My Dominar (2018 model) is going to complete 10k soon so thought of skipping the servicing in the showroom and instead give it outside for servicing (in Blore). Heard a lot about xtorque in Kalyan Nagar and Indimotard in Whitefield. Do you guys have any suggestions for a good place to get the bike serviced at

Your bike is still in warranty, if you skip the service from the bajaj service center and get it done from outside bajaj will void your warranty so it's better to stick to authorized service center till your warranty gets over, or if you don't care about warranty, then you can take your bike wherever you want
                        Peace

Hi, I've used lluvia handle bar raise "pro". It has grove St the bottom and additional O ring. This is ready fit and no alteration required. This has significantly improved my ride.

Only the clutch was an issue as i turn right, it was getting partially disengaged. Then i loosened the clutch lever and moved 5mm more towards center. All set and happy

Anybody have any idea if bajaj are planning to launch more colors for the dominar ? Last news indicated they might launch red color but so far no indication of the same.

So true, my bike is in SVC, Khivraj Bangalore for the past 14 days and Bajaj don't have spare parts for their so called Premium bike ( even if this model is in existence since 2 years ) and its not fixed yet.
