Frankly the real power is above 4500 Rpm 😅.

          Hi Buddy,

Was in the same boat. I am an ex NS owner as well and these bikes apart from the obvious difference have a lot in common. Perfect linear upgrade too.

I adjusted quite easily with the Dominar.

How does it feel when compared to ns because acceleration figure are "almost" similar
Was waiting for 17 duke but 2.6L on road it's out of budget[emoji40] [emoji40] [emoji40]

In total honesty i felt the NS was slower mainly because the power from the lower end in the Dominar is more massive. The bike surges to the 60s before you realize it and the wall of torque pushing you is clearly stronger.

It sounds also much sportier which probably adds to the feeling of going faster.

The duke is pretty tempting but it is the right choice if you are chasing acceleration. Dominar can go fast but not as fast as the Duke 390, but then as has been widely declared this isnt meant to be a sports naked.

Buddy I would advise you to save up for the Duke if you really want it, rather than buy the Dominar and feel short changed later. For me the Dominar made sense coz i wanted a powerful cruiser and was afraid of owning an RE due to past negative experience. Hope you are clear in what you want.

Rode today from Chennai to Kadapa. Roads were horrible with unlimited no of" invisible" speedbreakers.
Bike has crossed 2.8k kms and I had no problem until today. Brake performance posed risky situations to my ride and me on my way here. I had so many near misses due to the sudden jerks. Let me explain the situation and anyone with a clear idea, please help me out.
All these days, I do used to brake hard and bike had never jerked or anything. Today also I had to brake hard several times, due to so many invisible speedbreakers all along 200kms. Bike was fine until crossing Renigunta. Then whenever I brake as I spot a speedbreaker, the bike started jerking. I stopped after a while to check if there was any rim bend because I hadn't been able to spot a few speedbreakers earlier and just ran over them. But thankfully, no problem there. Checked the brake pads and they were fine too. Kept riding the same way and as I pull the brake lever towards me to stop the bike, the lever goes out of control and pushes itself away and so does the front wheel, (seemed like the wheel was locking, but the abs light was off, so no problem there), the wheel turns to the right or left beyond my control. Due to this, I almost hit vehicles that are before me so many times, or I have to maneuver the bike to the sides to avoid colliding with them. The speed I rode at was 100-120 until tirupathi and from there on 70-90 and sometimes 40-60 due to poor road conditions.
More light on this would be appreciated. I'm staying in Kadapa and will leave on Sunday. I'm worried riding 350kms back home with this kind of brakes.
This is the first problem I face on Eternia.

Hmm ok. The best and most obvious way to decide is to take a test ride of both, preferably alone. Then see which bike you connect with better. The new Duke has a host of new features which makes it even better. And the way it looks in the 2017 avtaar makes the older Duke look normal, which in itself is a big accomplishment. Dominar in terms of looks is more of a sleeper bike specially in the dark shades. The only stand out feature as per me are the LED headlights.

Anyway not to digress too much, take a test ride and decide buddy. One is a mature cruiser the other a naked which accelerates like (and probably also beats) most entry level sports cars.

This is just speculation but do examine the rubber part on the front tyre. In my NS due to heat and poor quality of rubber there was a slight bulge which got created on one of the longer highway rides I took. That played spoilsport with the handling. Nothing as serious as yours but it did happen. Tracing it in broad daylight did take some time but thankfully i found it.

On a separate note do check the area where the front forks are connected to the tyres. Maybe something is loose here? You can get this checked by any road side mechanic too. Seriously hope its something as simple as this buddy. Take care.

Can you turn off the abs on the dominar? If so, check if this behavior continues with abs off.
Also inspect closely the disc, forks, wheel for any abnormality.
If you feel the lever pulsate so violently (as you put it 'pushes itself away') then it might be a bent/warped front disc. I had a similar issue on my d200 where using the front brake became impossible due to the pulsating. Changed the disc rotor and it was back to normal.
Get it checked at a bajaj svc in kadapa and see what they have to say.
I can only speculate so much without actually riding the bike.

You cannot turn off the abs on Dominar bro.

Open up the rider seat and remove the fuse for the abs ecu. Its written on the fuse box. This will disable the ABS.

Check if problem still persists after abs is disabled.

You cannot easily spot with the naked eye a warped disc. you could try lifting the front end up and rotating the wheel and observing the disc for a wobble/high spots, Go ahead and get it checked at a local bajaj svc and get their opinion (if you are not comfortable getting it fixed at kadapa/or they are unable to fix it) then ride back slowly (keep it under 80) maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and keep left as far as possible.

nice trick, did you try it out ? Does it cause the MIL light to come up? How does it feel to brake in such a scenario?

                                Ive tried it out.
It lights up the abs light temporarily and will go off when u put back the fuse.
The braking feels a bit better actually, well, that might be because I was able to do skids easily.

Honestly, the brakes felt stronger with the abs turned off. Didn't try it out on a daily basis so, can't say exactly.
