this is shocking seeing the rim quality, duke had this rim bending issue but i had never seen one. how did you get to know the rim bend? did you fell the loss of tyre pressure then noticed the rim bend? thank you for the update do let us know further. i hope bajaj look in to the matter of rim and give the update to customer.

IIRC happened with Duke 390 first batch too. Bajaj is gonna up the quality of alloys in the next batch. Btw, what alloy are these? Emkay?

There was lill wobbling .. It was coming from front wheel.. Checked and found that.. I am f****d up.
Dropped a mail to bajaj.. And will call to bajaj shoroom tomorrow.
Lets hope they change rim under warranty.

Yes, That would be more appropriate if it is done by Bajaj for all D400 that is coming out of the factory.

Then these settings should come per configured from Factory so that before 1st service too it would be followed.

yes, definitely safe for the bike. I will be pleased if Bajaj follows up with all D400 showrooms to see if this setting is being followed religiously by them on all Bikes coming out after 1st Service or better make it mandatory on these bikes that are coming out of the manufacturing facility.

It is a good thing if you ask me. Some of the bikers just cannot keep under the limits defined in the manual. This will be very beneficial for the biker and Bajaj. Neither will the biker cross the limits and later complain of how the engine has become horrible and Bajaj can be rest assured nobody will ruin (and not run-in) the engine!!

I am OK as I stick to the manual.
93 Kmph is still a very good speed if you ask me.

Hello Guys,
Today i was returning from office and there was a small pot hole... Bike was at around 50kmph. Went through that pot hole and alloy got bend.
Went to service center... they told me to go through insurance procedure. But i am not satisfied with the quality of rim. Writing a mail to authorities and lets see what happens.
It was a normal pot hole.. My apache has been surviving these types of so called "khadda" from last 6 years very effectively.
Alloys are weak. Service center people told me that there was another similar issue 2 3 days back and both rims got bend.

If that happened on a small pothole at 50 kmph, all the Dominar owners are doomed.

Unacceptable. No kind of VFM tag justifies this crap.

I have hit bumps on the road with no issues. It seems everyone is facing a different problem. Hopefully they will replace the rims.

Is anyone using Power or speed grade as per the manual. It worked well for the first tank full. Next two, not so much. Going back to regular grade. From next week onwards.

I have hit bumps on the road with no issues. It seems everyone is facing a different problem. Hopefully they will replace the rims.

Service center people are willing to change rim via insurance claim.. but i want it to be done under warranty.
Because there is no accident or anytying.. Its just the bad quality of the alloy.
They should cover it under warranty.

Technically, it is an accident.just that it did not involve a second vehicle. You hit a pot hole. I have done similar on my earlier bike but got away as they were not tubeless tyre.
Dominar is a heavy bike and the body weight shifts to front easily as position is not completely up right.
But there may be quality issues.
If it gets covered under insurance, how much do you have to shell out.

I'm using Speed grade. What problem you are facing?

Some days, its smooth right from start, some days does not sound smooth until enfine heats up.
The difference is at cold start. It sounds knocking like petrol flow is not even.

Now sure though but around 250 rs... As i am having zero dep insurance.
Quality issue is there... one another guy have faced same issue.. his both rims were damaged. I am doing all this because.. any of us can face this issue in future... small potholes shouldn't affect bike so much that too on normal speed.
I will call to their toll free number tomorrow. Dropped a mail already.

First need to pay full amount of rim around 4k.
Then amount will be refunded into account withing 45 days.
