I have some gripes, but thankfully no regrets buying it. In our traffic conditions, everyday there is a moment when the performance has put a smile on my face even though almost everyday I get overtaken by better riding skills.

Re: A little insight!
I would bot encourage comparing. IMHO this is not a bike trying to be a KTM or a Daytona. This is good Bajaj offering at great price point. There is enough torque and HP than buyers like me can hope to handle. Quality comes at a high price point. High priced, the dominar is not.Originally posted by Ricci View Post

Will be done with 2k on Monday, as I'll be returning home from Mysuru.
Bike has performed extremely well during the trip. Was getting mileage of 29-32 before first service. Getting 35-36kmpl now.
I would recommended following the run-in. I hope that recommended run-in procedure gives better mileage.
Cheers.
That was a wonderful mileage figure (35 to 36) for a bike of that size and power. Enjoy mile munching.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys, I have done a few things to my dominar. I'll also be wrapping the bike in few weeks time. Looking forward to it.
List of minor cosmetic changes on my dominar:
1)Removed saree guard
2)Removed lower mud guard
3)White Rim stripes
4)Black tank decals
5)Smoked indicators
6)Matte/Shiny vinyl on windscreen ( as it was very prone to scratches)

Nicely done . I am thinking of something similar. Smoked headlights so the drl are less obnoxious plus some vinyl work. Anyone know someone who does vinyl in Pune. I got a 3M center near by.Originally posted by vengalabdj View PostHi guys, I have done a few things to my dominar. I'll also be wrapping the bike in few weeks time. Looking forward to it.

I think smoked headlight might just reduce the modern, striking look the bike gets due to the headlamps.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostNicely done . I am thinking of something similar. Anyway, its upto your preference.
Btw, I get your problem about the DRLs being too bright. Every other person on the road reminds me that my lights are on. Getting tired of it.

Hmm... Maybe just run vertical smoked lines along the drl strip.Originally posted by vengalabdj View PostI think smoked headlight might just reduce the modern, striking look the bike gets due to the headlamps.

You do realize the drls are the high beams right😅Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostHmm... Maybe just run vertical smoked lines along the drl strip.
Why reduce the intensity of the high beams which are very useful on the high way or unlit roads.

I will of course evaluate the impact. If seems to me that there are three sets. drl, low beam and a third one that fires up with the high beam switch. The high beam switch has a good wide and deep spread. Pardon the language. The drl are sort of in between but i agree, the contribute to the illumination.Originally posted by vengalabdj View PostYou do realize the drls are the high beams right😅

Low-Only low beam
High- Low+High beam

Yup.. Thats a way to reduce the attention the bike gets due to the Highbeam drls.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostOh ok thx. My bad, i thought there was a third set. So keep low beam turned on during the day. That way I can use high only when needed.
Personally, I like the way it looks with the DRLs and the attention that comes with it too😋
