I'm not happy with the beam quality either. I have a Pulsar 220, and aside from a narrower spread, the 220's high beam is similar or slightly better. The Dominar's low beam of course is better, but low beam isn't the life-saver that high beams are.

The time-setting method is a bit tedious, but thank goodness we don't have to do it often.

What irks me most besides the LED lamps not being the giant leap in enlightenment (pardon the simile), is despite the massive detuning, the Dominar's low end torque is worse than the RC390 which I just test rode. The track-leaning, racy RC has better low end torque, with 9hp more, the Dominar top end is dull too in comparison and the Dominar engine scores only on refinement/NVH. Even the Daytona copes way better at 40km/h in 6th gear than the Dominar. On the RC390, I could feel the crank and piston and such trying to break loose out of the crankcase - a bit disconcerting although you forget about it on short rides because you're focusing on the traffic.

Now, I appreciate the NVH advantage over the RC, but with such compromises in both low end and top end? I guess I'll know in about 6 months time if these trade-offs were worth it or not.

BTW, have Dominar owners in Pune got their registrations yet?
I collected mine on 19 Jan , one month ago and still have not received my bike's number. I did get an SMS 2 weeks ago about RTO receipt of INR 16xxx towards registration from the dealer (Krishna Bajaj). Due to lack of number, I haven't really put any serious miles on the clock, can't take it to work because number is mandatory to get gate pass.
Banks take 4-16hrs to do a software upgrade - and banks take software and outages rather seriously, RTO takes 12 days and still is performing worse than before the upgrade.
I would bot encourage comparing. IMHO this is not a bike trying to be a KTM or a Daytona. This is good Bajaj offering at great price point. There is enough torque and HP than buyers like me can hope to handle. Quality comes at a high price point. High priced, the dominar is not.

I have some gripes, but thankfully no regrets buying it. In our traffic conditions, everyday there is a moment when the performance has put a smile on my face even though almost everyday I get overtaken by better riding skills.

Will be done with 2k on Monday, as I'll be returning home from Mysuru.
Bike has performed extremely well during the trip. Was getting mileage of 29-32 before first service. Getting 35-36kmpl now.
I would recommended following the run-in. I hope that recommended run-in procedure gives better mileage.
          Cheers.
That was a wonderful mileage figure (35 to 36) for a bike of that size and power. Enjoy mile munching.

Hi guys, I have done a few things to my dominar. I'll also be wrapping the bike in few weeks time. Looking forward to it.

List of minor cosmetic changes on my dominar:

              1)Removed saree guard
              2)Removed lower mud guard
              3)White Rim stripes
              4)Black tank decals
              5)Smoked indicators
6)Matte/Shiny vinyl on windscreen ( as it was very prone to scratches)

Nicely done . I am thinking of something similar. Smoked headlights so the drl are less obnoxious plus some vinyl work. Anyone know someone who does vinyl in Pune. I got a 3M center near by.

P.S. DO NOT quote the entire picture set when quoting a picture. Remove pictures when quoting posts with pic.

I think smoked headlight might just reduce the modern, striking look the bike gets due to the headlamps.

                  Anyway,its upto your preference.

Btw, I get your problem about the DRLs being too bright. Every other person on the road reminds me that my lights are on. Getting tired of it.

Hmm... Maybe just run vertical smoked lines along the drl strip.

You do realize the drls are the high beams right😅

Why reduce the intensity of the high beams which are very useful on the high way or unlit roads.

I will of course evaluate the impact. If seems to me that there are three sets. drl, low beam and a third one that fires up with the high beam switch. The high beam switch has a good wide and deep spread. Pardon the language. The drl are sort of in between but i agree, the contribute to the illumination.

                          DRLs-Only high beam
                          Low-Only low beam
                          High- Low+High beam

Oh ok thx. My bad, i thought there was a third set. So keep low beam turned on during the day. That way I can use high only when needed.

Yup.. Thats a way to reduce the attention the bike gets due to the Highbeam drls.

Personally, I like the way it looks with the DRLs and the attention that comes with it too😋
