Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I noticed today, my bike has also been rev limited after first service . I could not tell if it's 5500 or 6500 in daylight . No limit on speed as far as i could tell. In fact the acceleration is still good even with the rev limiter that i did not notice until today.Originally posted by vishalmusle View PostIt is a good thing if you ask me. Some of the bikers just cannot keep under the limits defined in the manual. This will be very beneficial for the biker and Bajaj. Neither will the biker cross the limits and later complain of how the engine has become horrible and Bajaj can be rest assured nobody will ruin (and not run-in) the engine!!
I am OK as I stick to the manual.
93 Kmph is still a very good speed if you ask me.
I take back my words on what i said about Bajaj

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I guess that the batteries would be disconnected from the factory, hence any such programmable setting must be manually triggered. Hope it Makes sense.Originally posted by n1tesh View PostThen these settings should come per configured from Factory so that before 1st service too it would be followed.Ride Safe!

How would we remove the limiter then?Originally posted by sman999 View PostI guess that the batteries would be disconnected from the factory, hence any such programmable setting must be manually triggered. Hope it Makes sense.
Although I have not revd up the engine I am a bit confused about this limiter thing.
Can anyone explain when there is limiter and when its taken out?
And how come just after service the limiter kicks in?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys need your suggestion. I got my bike on 18th Jan and have completed around 250 kms since. Got a call from Bajaj asking the bike for first servicing as would complete one month. Their service reminder has not popped up yet on the hood. Should I take the bike for servicing or should I compete 500kms first.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Why not take it for service. This will give you a rev limiting ecu update and an oil change. Rev limiter will force an easy break in for the engine and Bajaj 10000 oil should be better than factory oil.Originally posted by Rajendra Wadile View PostGuys need your suggestion. Today I changed the oil with bajaj 10000.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostWhy not take it for service. This will give you a rev limiting ecu update and an oil change. Rev limiter will force an easy break in for the engine and Bajaj 10000 oil should be better than factory oil.
It was pre service oil change.
Engine is feeling smoother.
Can anyone enlighten me on rev limiter thing?

Adding to this point lots of them procure the oil from the same source and just add their stickers. I know Indian Oil loss of them in bulk. And guess that other petroleum companies do it too.Originally posted by leech View PostMost manufacturers make their own oil and recommend that because it's good for business; practically any oil in the right grade and quality can be used without problems; the companies force the customers to use their oil because they make more money out of it.

Take it for a spin on the highway. Once the rev limit is reached, acceleration is gradual. It will be hard to notice with all the traffic around you but try empty stretch on 5th and 6th.let us knowOriginally posted by satyajit200ns View PostToday I changed the oil with bajaj 10000.

The Bajaj 10000 oil is made by total. I saw the 1.5ltr packing & it costs ₹1010.Originally posted by Nikhilesh Ganesh View PostAdding to this point lots of them procure the oil from the same source and just add their stickers. I don't know how it's done. I was just guessing. Cuz when u disconnect the battery the clock resets right? So should be any programmed memory. Once they connect the battery during PDI they might update such things. That's what my guess is. I'm not sure of the process.Originally posted by satyajit200ns View PostHow would we remove the limiter then?

Programmed memory is just like your software in computer. You cant remove or delete it just by removing power source.

Sorry, i meant any such memory like clock that needs battery to stay alive.Originally posted by ~wolverine~ View PostClock isnt a ECU thing.

Or might be.. they came up with this idea after they launched the vehicle, so they are doing it now. And all service centres might not be updated or equipped with proper info to do so.Ride Safe!
