My idea.. Match the xbhp that side too that way it would symmetrical and castrol/motul on the silver frame.
Definitely, a nice idea to consider.!
      Thanx dude.

First issues with Fernanda. 92kms on the odo.

                1. Right side fork oil seal broken. Not sure what was the cause. Didn't ride over any potholes.

                2. Left side tank cover was vibrating like hell. Tried to tighten the Allen key bolt. With just one twist the nut broke. It was loose though.

Nut braking of is not good, may be it was broken before and hence vibrations?

Hope its a one off issue. I asked for the service guys to tighten the bolt but they hesitated and they advised you can do it yourself when you get home as tools are available in toolkit. I said fine. Now, I doubt whether they did it to an other vehicle like this and the bolt broke.

I understand with regards to fork oil seal. But, how come a factory fitted bolt be of this standard? is my concern. Also since its sunday i couldnt check with them. I wonder if they have spares to mend both the faults.

Do mentioned when you take the bike to bajaj that the service guys told you to do it your self rather than helping you out!

This issue needs to be taken up.

                        A little insight!

                        Good bits
                        - Superb saddle comfort
                        - Linear torque delivery
                        - Well balanced gear ratios
                        - Excellent beam type perimeter frame that makes handling effortless
                        - Slipper clutch (Downshifts are effortless & clutch feels light)
                        - Headlamps consume only 20w
                        - well light console & neat design
                        - Superb heat discipation
                        - ridiculous VFM

                        Not so good bits
                        - Horn is mounted in front of radiator. If horn is hit it might damage the radiator.
                        - AHO with high beam on is a headache during night rides. During stops it might irritate the on coming traffic.
                        - No hazard indicator for a touring machine
                        - RVM could have been better. Very low not big enough.
                        - Secondary tank console is useless
                        - poor wiring, exposed everywhere, for example front brake wires, inside the glove box...
                        - No Temperature bar
(The manual says only after 110C the temp warning glows and when temp is 115c ECU would not let the engine to rev beyond 4500rpm. The fan would kick in when the temp reaches 95.3c and stops when temp is 90c)
                        - Headlamps are a let down for people like me who prefer yellow light over white. Even the throw is not that great.
                        - Since you had to remove the tank literally to change air filter they are not going to be intact after few times of dismantling.
                        - Offered color choices. according to me the colors in the rear side plastic covers must be inverted/vice versa.

                        - Battery is a 12v 8ah VRLA unit
                        - Sparks plugs to be cleaned after 20k kms
                        - Tyre Pressure Front - 29psi, Rear - 32psi either solo or with pillion

In the owners manual it is mentioned as follows:

High beam indicator: When headlight is "ON" & Hi beam is selected, Hi beam indicator will glow.

But in our bikes its always on as soon the engine is cranked. So is this a fault from the factory? Its quite annoying at night considering how bright they are.

Well compiled list. Some items are reasonable, some tolerable. Some are outright design flaws. But the downshift chart is total bullshit. If you follow the downshift for gears 3 and 2, the engine braking and rev jump would make the dominar experience unbelievably annoying. I have kept the rev under control as part or break in but does anyone else feel the downshift suggestions are way to aggressive?

With the type of peoe who follow bajaj, not more than 5% of the total consumer base will follow it . Because 80% has no clue of what the limits are (non availability of manual) 5% dont want to follow any limit, 10 % like you and me will be carefull , but like this , this is too blunt, but by not over stressing the engine, and incase anyone do , then not for longer duration. Today is my 3rd day , completed 250 kms! Got an aftermarket cover , saw tank bags but with even when they are half filled, cant view meter as the tank is already positioned high, need to find a solution!

Spot on mate. Bajaj putting the high beam as default/DRL is a serious mistake. As it is people don't switch to low beam even when you flash them, now people will not even bother to turn the headlight switch to "ON" position where low/high beam selection is activated.

I'm not happy with the beam quality either. I have a Pulsar 220, and aside from a narrower spread, the 220's high beam is similar or slightly better. The Dominar's low beam of course is better, but low beam isn't the life-saver that high beams are.

The time-setting method is a bit tedious, but thank goodness we don't have to do it often.

What irks me most besides the LED lamps not being the giant leap in enlightenment (pardon the simile), is despite the massive detuning, the Dominar's low end torque is worse than the RC390 which I just test rode. The track-leaning, racy RC has better low end torque, with 9hp more, the Dominar top end is dull too in comparison and the Dominar engine scores only on refinement/NVH. Even the Daytona copes way better at 40km/h in 6th gear than the Dominar. On the RC390, I could feel the crank and piston and such trying to break loose out of the crankcase - a bit disconcerting although you forget about it on short rides because you're focusing on the traffic.

Now, I appreciate the NVH advantage over the RC, but with such compromises in both low end and top end? I guess I'll know in about 6 months time if these trade-offs were worth it or not.

BTW, have Dominar owners in Pune got their registrations yet?
I collected mine on 19 Jan , one month ago and still have not received my bike's number. I did get an SMS 2 weeks ago about RTO receipt of INR 16xxx towards registration from the dealer (Krishna Bajaj). Due to lack of number, I haven't really put any serious miles on the clock, can't take it to work because number is mandatory to get gate pass.
Banks take 4-16hrs to do a software upgrade - and banks take software and outages rather seriously, RTO takes 12 days and still is performing worse than before the upgrade.
Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.

Lol.. Thats why i didnt mention that in the post. Also in safe riding tips its mentioned as ride between 40-50 kmph. Downshift chart is not necessarily be followed.

Bro, Top end in a Touring machine? Its very comfortable & stress free to cruise around 110kmph. More over even 130kmph is too much in India. Max road legal speed limit is 120kmph and that too is for 1or2 highways.

Regarding low end torque, i had ridden Duke 390's in which the torque is low below 4000rpm and it picks up fast only after that. Im not aware of specs for that sorry. The second gear is useless even at 20kmph, you gotta shift to first. Dominar is way better actually according to me.
