@ sman999
"humming noise is from engine side" even Bajaj service guy's confirmed all D400 has that noise and it comes from or coz of slipper clutch. It come's while in motion as well as stand still.
While bike is stand still you can notice the sound, sound changes when you engage and disengage clutch lever.

Is it audible only when the vehicle is moving or even stand still?
If in motion, the wrong chain slack might be a cause.
Since it is a new vehicle there are no chances for the clutch bell noise.Last edited by sunilukn; 02-14-2017, 02:31 PM.

From what i heard default is setting no:4 which is firm. You can soften it for long rides on highways.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostGot a question on the rear mono shock. Is the default setting at soft or firm. I see they have marked a green dot for position 1. Service center guy said its @ soft.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I've been riding a KTM Duke 390 with a slipper clutch for over a year now, and I've never come across any "humming" soundOriginally posted by sunilukn View Post1st service update >>
there is a humming sound when bike is at steady speed or in ideal condition, when clutch is engaged sound goes (checked with service adviser, he said its coz of slipper clutch.
That is to say, I'm not expert but I doubt this is "normal" for a slipper clutch.Urban Gypsies MC

I inquired with the supervisor and service manager. Both said it is a directive from Bajaj. They are not bothered about other showrooms not following it. But is good to have this limitation. They said it will get reset after 2k kms. They added even the test ride vehicle had this limitation and got reset automatically few days back. I've touched 1.1 k already. I will probably complete 2k by mid march. Lets see.

I forgot to mention:
The silencer was not removed to drain the oil. They just removed the cowl protecting the sensor at the bottom and drained the oil. Few drops did fall on the silencer, but that is OK i guess.
Sorry mods for the back to back posts.

Then these settings should come per configured from Factory so that before 1st service too it would be followed.Originally posted by CapedCrusader View PostI inquired with the supervisor and service manager. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It is a good thing if you ask me. Some of the bikers just cannot keep under the limits defined in the manual. This will be very beneficial for the biker and Bajaj. Neither will the biker cross the limits and later complain of how the engine has become horrible and Bajaj can be rest assured nobody will ruin (and not run-in) the engine!!Originally posted by CapedCrusader View PostI inquired with the supervisor and service manager. I am OK as I stick to the manual.
93 Kmph is still a very good speed if you ask me.
I take back my words on what i said about Bajaj
Nothing is comparable to the simple pleasures of a bike ride.
