Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
thx. I have barely rode it for 10 kms but recording first impressions to see whether they'll change. Things I likeOriginally posted by DrBeatsB View PostCongratulations buddy..
👍
1) free helmet, was mentally prepared to shell 1000 bucks. Although it is very ordinary but I can take my sweet time to buy one
2) something is pleasently different while downshifting. May be due to slipper clutch
3) pick up is good, I was slightly apprehensive on that front
4) bike seemed stable, had missed one small spped breaker while at 60
Things I don't like
1) petrol tank got full to the brim only after 11 litres, I don't know exactly how much was the in it but can't be much as indicator has zero bars
2) run in speeds in manual are ridiculously low
3) gear indicator is sorely missed

Hi Ijs,Originally posted by Ijs View PostGot the owners manual today warranty is 2years 30000kms, battery warranty is 18months.
Engine oil grade is 10w50 full synthetic bajaj dtsi 10000.
1st service at 500 to 750kms 30 to 45 days,
2nd 240 days 4500 to 5000kms,

Forget to ask for the air filter Location and service ,it is not mentioned in the manual. Will ask that at 1st service or some diy guy will post a video.
Battery is under the rider seat.
Got the gear shift inspected by the dominar specific mechanic he was working on duke series before that. He told me the clunky ness is normal and it is present in all bike made me check 2 more bike and both have clunkyness and sound at 1st gear. He also said it would be better post 1st service and oil change.
From which showroom did you recieve your bike?
I purchased my bike from Swadeshi Bajaj, Raja Garden. I called them today regarding owners manual but they replied in negative.
I'll call them again tomorrow.
Also what is the tank capacity as per manual? What about the Reserve and bar position of fuel indicator?

Today last bar of fuel tank is blinking along with Petrol Pump sign. I opened tank and checked...there was approx 3 4 ltr petrol.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Got my bike today . Had booked it on 20 December. Got message of despatch last week.
First impressions. It's a big bike . The road presence is good . Gear shifts , to me it felt smooth not clunky. Acceleration is really good. Exhaust sound is really bassy . The weight is not felt at all. It gives good confidence to ride . I didn't take it beyond 60.
The head lamps are drool worthy. It's really bright. It is what which grabs people's attention.
Received no freebies. Just the manual and a booklet. The booklet contains all things that was there in the brochure. Nothing new.
Overall really happy with it.

And regarding the petrol tank capacity mine was also showing the last bar. I filled it up to full with just petrol worth Rs 740. So around 9 liters. And now fuel indicator shows full tank.

Hey guys, Ijs old_novice ~wolverine~
The petrol tank is 13 ltrs and the last bar is for 3-3.5 ltrs.
The manual says to fill in petrol when the last bar is blinking, only because the bike is FI and it needs minimum fuel for the engine to run smooth, this doesn't mean it needs 3-4 litres for proper running. It is only said as a precautionary measure to avoid running out of fuel later.
