How long were you in city traffic? Was the heat bearable?
Might be the burnt oil smell is due to the fact that the bike is brand new.

Thanks Kirankj I rode from Malad to Bandra in heavy traffic for about an hour and yes the heat was bearable.

thx. I have barely rode it for 10 kms but recording first impressions to see whether they'll change. Things I like
1) free helmet, was mentally prepared to shell 1000 bucks. Although it is very ordinary but I can take my sweet time to buy one
2) something is pleasently different while downshifting. May be due to slipper clutch
3) pick up is good, I was slightly apprehensive on that front
4) bike seemed stable, had missed one small spped breaker while at 60
Things I don't like
1) petrol tank got full to the brim only after 11 litres, I don't know exactly how much was the in it but can't be much as indicator has zero bars
2) run in speeds in manual are ridiculously low
3) gear indicator is sorely missed

My dominar fuel indicator also had zero bars, fuelled 10.87 litres of fuel. No service manual was provided.So we can assume that 3 litres is reserve.

abs a must on this bike. bike heavy and powerful. if you open throttle it gets too fast for corner before you realise it. abs will improve confidence and might even save an accident

Got my bike on 18th January 2017. I am from Pune and the bike registration is still pending as Pune RTO is closed as its going online(hope for the good).
Anyone else from Pune and their Bike registration is pending? do we have a Dominar tribe like that of Mojo. Should be a good idea to have a tribe.

As per Powerdrift, D400 packs 28 Nm @4000 revs or so. So yes, it has a smashing mid range and not so smashing low end but it's manageable.

Plus I'm surprised to read that CBR250R stalls @25 in 3rd. That's a revelation.

Suzuki's XTP really works in my GS, riding comfortably at 22kmph in 4th gear @ just 2000 rpm without knocking. And can be pulled from the same gear without need to downshift [emoji3] . Though mine is just 150cc so don't know if that matters.

Emailed bajaj auto to start a dominar riders group like they have for avenger,and also for roadside assistance scheme which will be helpful while touring because of their vast dealer network. Requesting you all to do the same as together we can make it happen.

Yes different bikes are tuned differently and it doesn't matter on displacement.
You can't do the same on an R15.

Yes that's a very good idea. I asked my dealer and he was least interested in such stuff. Hope Bajaj takes a note of this.

Yesterday my bike dealer added me in a whatsapp group in which there were all members to whom they sold dominar.
Group name is ...Dominate the night.
