Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I would like to make a little correction to my earlier post .Originally posted by bikerahul View Postsuper.. this brings my liking meter back in the center.. any white owners, please share ur thoughts whether it really turns yellowish or do u think it will in future?
i myself own a white car since almost 2 years now.. not a part of it has turned yellow.
today spoke to one of the owner of white d400 which is looking yellowish , he told me that it is because of the paint protection film he ahs applied so it could also be the case with other bike I saw.
D400 has one of the best paint used on any bike in india so I suggest you pick the one you like without any worry. And as per my personal experience with motorcycles any paint can retain its shine with regular use of good wax once a month and not letting the ramu kaka clean it (they do it very badly). use a soft and moist cloth to clean to avoid small swirl marks dry cloth can cause small marks or lines.
I again suggest you go ahead and book white.

Anyone has created group for Mumbai/Pune ?
Meet one of the Dominar owner yesterday(Near Kamat, Lonavala) who also follows xBhp and was looking for group. So if there isn't any group yet then let's create one.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
3200kms on the odo. Having a wonderful experience with the bike. Getting a mileage of 31-35 constantly.
No problems until now except the brake thing I mentioned yesterday. Went to Gandikota and Belum caves, Cudapah today. Checked the bike in bajaj svc on the way. Thankfully, I know the local language and managed to talk to the service engineer of rs200 as it is the "most advanced" bike there. They were infact surprised to see a Dominar. Well, I told him my problem and he rode the bike and later, checked for wheel alignment, bumps/bubbles on the wheel, etc but there was no problem found. But he mentioned that the wheel wobbled under hardbraking too. I rode below 70kmph today and experienced no problem with the brakes. And it's not about the speed at all, it's about the distance you want to stop your vehicle within. If short, the bike jerks. No restrictions, the brakes and the bike are fine. I'm planning to reach home slow and steady and check with the Dominar technician itself.

I would have booked a bright red but sadly thr was no such Color and white was close 2nd for its visibility from a distance

Does anyone have an idea of what the max rpm is?The manual states that the max rpm is 9500 but after the ECU update it was said that theax rpm fell to 8500 ,but yesterday when I tried to do a TOPSPEED test, my dominar couldn't budge beyond 151 or 150 km/hr maxing at 8000rpm..I'm quite puzzled so could those who have achieved their topspeeds mention it along with the rpm at which it was at.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
150 in and of itself is a good speed for a tourer of this stature. Perhaps they've made sure there is a rev limiter cutoff on the bike in the ECU update, is what we can expect. People who have undergone a ECU update and who have checked their top speed parameters can probably chime in here. Did you rev your bike at idle, what RPM does the console show. If it shows 8.5 then yes, it's the ECU update. If it revs freely till 9.5 then it's perhaps, I just hope you know this thing has six gears.Originally posted by the_moto_techie View PostDoes anyone have an idea of what the max rpm is?The manual states that the max rpm is 9500 but after the ECU update it was said that theax rpm fell to 8500 ,but yesterday when I tried to do a TOPSPEED test, my dominar couldn't budge beyond 151 or 150 km/hr maxing at 8000rpm..I'm quite puzzled so could those who have achieved their topspeeds mention it along with the rpm at which it was at.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Yea checked it now, it does rev till 8500.I am just getting jealous who still have their rev limit till 9500.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post150 in and of itself is a good speed for a tourer of this stature.
