Noticed today that limiter cuts in at 8.5k rpm revvd it at idle and it goes to 9k for a instance and drops back to 8.5k . This is post ecu update at the first service. So new rpm limit is 8.5k rpm. Good thing though for the engine health and also the fact is at 6 to 6.5 k rpm it does 120kmph which is more than enough to cruise and engine is happy at this speed.
I also heard that this limit would auto removed when the odo reached 2000kms.

one at the place of stock horn... second one below that horn.

You are exactly right. Post the ECU update, there is a reduction in top power RPM. But the D400 makes the best at 6.4k RPM as I've posted earlier and it's the 80% of it's peak power RPM, where it can do all day long at whatever speeds on the ODO. Now, the news for me is, auto rev limit switchback to 9k RPM post 2k. What's the ODO reading on your motorcycle currently and do keep up posted with this auto switch back of rev limiter, would come in handy for all of us here. Kudos for the update from your side.

My current odo reading is 650kms so it will take time to reach 2k as i have already missed two rides due to health issues and some family outing. But would surely update here once i hit 2k kms.
And you are very right bikes is very happy and relaxed at 6.5k rpm and 120kmph kind of speed.

Oh great.But is it because that ur ecu hasn't been updated? Btw my odo is the same 850 s in 10 days but it still doent rev till 9.5k
