will there will be any change in the vibration after the second service ? I know it's not that deal breaker. But a premiuim bike with such a big cc bike, can I expect a vibe free engine atleast till 5k rpm
Some one please do reply..
There are vibes that sound bad (panels, mirrors ) and vibes that feel bad (bolts tightened) . The infamous annoying 4k vibe is now a known issue. I feel your pain.
Would not Dominar be the most perfect bike if the vibes started at 5000 or 5500. Alas...

If you regularly rev beyond 4k in every gear, each time cursing as you do,don't lose hope. I have been there, you will get used to it. Its hard to imagine that you will.
I ride a lot @ 3500.that is the sweet spot. When i rev hard, is because i am overtaking something big at which point i am not focused on the vibes. Once past 5000k, they are there but not the focus of your attention.
So stop by at the SC. Do the break in. You will like it more by the time you're are at 4000 kms.

My point(maybe I am wrong but from my experience):

The fuel gauge reading is not an input to ECU....Reason being, there is no need of fuel reading as there is no display of KM left/mileage being shown in the cluster like in Cars.(KTM ECU has this as input, the cluster shows mileage)

The Fuel gauge reading which is an analog voltage (Resistance change in the gauge) is directly fed to the cluster. Its the cluster that shows the number of bar depending on the voltage reading.

When we move the bike, the reading on the fuel gauge varies as the fuel goes up and down, so the voltage goes up and down very fast. To tackle this, they have a capacitor at the cluster that will average the voltage being received and this capacitor will discharge or charge very slowly, so you don't see the bars going up and down very fast if you move the bike.

My point on this issue...
1) Either the capacitor is faulty
2) The value of the capacitor is very high that it is not discharging as the voltage drops. Very high value could take long time to discharge. So, when we switch off the bike the voltage becomes zero and when we switch on we see the correct value.
3) The cluster itself is faulty for the fuel reading.

Point 1 and 2 can be solved our self but not point 3 (Point 3 needs cluster replacement).

I can verify the point 1 and 2 once I open the fuel tank and have a look at the fuel gauge and read the reading. Then I have to see if the cluster is showing the same reading if I change the value on the fuel gauge.

Note: I maybe wrong in the above statement.
How can we check if the case is 1 or 2??
benz, But I think, I read it some ware that there is a feature called auto shut off when fuel is too low, As dry run will damage the injector and pumps.
So it should be like the ECU is not pinging the sensor to update the values after the first time.

In case of 1 & 2, we can check if the fuel gauge is giving linear voltage when it is moved. At the cluster end try giving the same voltage externally and see if the bar is shown accordingly. If the bar does not go down when the voltage is dropped then its the cluster problem.

Before that, have to find out where the capacitor is placed. Is it outside the cluster or inside. If inside then we have to open the cluster itself.

Did anyone faced engine shut down when the fuel is very low?

Even if this feature is there then ECU is just sensing the volume from fuel gauge. ECU is not controlling the cluster bar. The reasons why i am saying is, I think there are 8 or 10 bars for fuel. So, there should 8 to 10 wires going from ECU to cluster. The cluster input does not have so many inputs.

And the ABS of rs200 is single channel which is not a gimmick, on a full faired bike you need to do more braking with front, rear is light.

Other thing is you can't switch of the abs on Dominar, while doing little off road with abs the braking distance will be high, sliding the rear is not an issue thats why the Duke390 and many adventur big bikes have supemoto(single channel and mode) with little rear slide you stop quicker.

Cheers.
It's not because of fairing that front wheel has more weight. But because of deceleration during braking, front tyres get more weight, that's why even some cars have disc brakes only in front. In bikes deceleration is sometimes so high that rear tyre lifts and full weight of bike is taken only on front tyre. So ABS only on front wheel is not that bad.

Dominar should have given abs off switch, they have mode button in odo console, so they can update software to add this option. Maybe you can remove abs fuse. But abs switch should be such that every time you switch on the engine abs should be reset and switched on, so that abs switched off the previous day does not stay off the next day.

Fairing also adds more weight on the front tyre, other than that more weight on front end means the rear becomes lighter on a full faired bike.
And RS200 has RLP - Rear wheel Lift of Protection too, so no issue of rear tyre lifting up.

Cheers.

Most of the dual channel abs bikes have it.
RS is single channel abs, with abs ring and sensors on the rear wheel too monitor the speed of rear wheel.

My dominar is now 4930km in ODO. But the service indicator (for second service )not appeared yet. Is this normal? Manual says it will appear @4450km.
Yes it is supposed to come at 4450kms, but now you are well past so get it serviced and do let them know this as service should be before 5000kms.

Just a fancy name for ABS! Its like a side effect of ABS basically.

Oh come on!! so basically i am coming from Apache RTR and my main issue with an otherwise wonderful bike is the vibration! you telling me i will face the same here???

Hello, yes. Please expect vibes. If less vibes is your priority, you might want to consider below 150CC bikes. Honda's are known for impeccable, refined and frugal engines.
You can also consider fz25 if you must switch. but it also has some vibes in top end. So basically a hornet or unicorn will be a good deal but not an upgrade.

Vibes would reduce with more services but will not disappear. Brother for better refinement from big capacity engine we needs to have more than one cylinder.
Someone here have got his bike's 3 bolts which holds the engine to the chassis tightened and said there is improvement in vibes. Dont be dishearten with vibe these are very minimal, and according to a duke390 owner D400 is super refined.
Even honda has vibes .
Thanks for the suggestion, I happened to ride Mojo in a trip (very smooth) I wish I can make my Dominar bit smooth close to that. I know both are different segment, just the greed in my mind. But to mention Mojo guy was really impressed with the power delivery and the cornering capability of Dominar. Cheers to that .

Hi,

If you want a bike which is more smoother consider Mojo, excelent for touring and very smooth engine. If security is your concern you can wait until ABS version comes. For me Hornet vibration is very negligible. If you're coming from Apache then I think you really gonna fall in love with the Honda engine.

Try Cbr 250 abs if you want smooth life. Or good old karizma. Spare parts are issue through.
