That's right. He couldn't stick left, he drifted, unknowingly, to the middle of the road, where the car was trying to squeeze in to avoid the bus. This the is the main reason why sticking left doesn't work. Due to obstructions on the road, or due to fatigue or body movements, sticking to the left for long periods of time isn't possible.
I still say stick to the left with some margin from the end of the road. In this case though the fault is with the car guy, if the biker had looked in his rear view mirror and slowed to let that idiot pass (since he was tailgating for a few seconds earlier) or just opened the throttle and put enough distance between him and the car (use the power on your bike when available to get away from such idiots), that crash might have been avoided.
Sometimes we have to do something (to save our lives) rather than assume the other motorist will correct himself (almost never happens, it's everybody's fathers road out here)
When i get on the highway, there are two things that i keep repeating to myself:
    1. Some goat will appear from nowhere in front of you
    2. Some idiot is sniffing your ass (or is going to zoom up to your rear on a fast car) and ready to bump you from behind/over take without any signal, so keep an eye on the rear view mirror.

I am most of the time around 85-90kmph on my d200 on 4/8 lane highways. And that gives me enough oomph for overtaking maneuvers or widening that gap between me and an idiot like that santro guy in the video.
On these two lane state highways I keep it down to 75 kmph most of the times.

A clear pic with mod details will help a lot.

So it is almost 7 days I got my Dominar. Odo is 172 KM. My first milage from Tank to Tank method gives me less than 20KMPL in city Bumper to Bumper traffic. May I know how much average can I accept in city riding?

Yesterday my bike behaved strangely for the first time, with lots of jerks im every gear and power loss on one occasion, also gear shift was rough. Thought it was overheating but no temp is fine . Also it is not starting properly like when pushing the starter it starts on very low rpm then suddenly rise. Engine was not that warm as my legs were ok and fan only kicked in when i reached home.
It was a very hot day yesterday.
Also i spoted oil on the chain cover and on close inspection found some drain pipe which was the culprit.
I would monitor it tomorrow, else would take it to service center or would do a ecu reset.

Yup, I got 30 too. You should check it twice again. I messed up with my calculations and got as 24 something then rechecked and was 32 but I ride mostly on highway.

May be due to atmospheric temperature & presure change due to summer ecu started adapting these inputs from sensors so these behaviour you felt?

Notice the bike which was taking the video. He was going in the the middle of the lane, blocking any parallel manoeuvre, so the car overtook him only when there was enough space.

You seem to be contradicting on whether to keep left or the middle of the road.
If you drift towards the middle i.e. move right (considering in India we follow the 'Keep Left' policy), you end up creating a situation where the vehicles coming from behind can overtake you either from right or left (right being the correct side to overtake). And in our country a lot people do not follow the rules and will simply squeeze in where they think there is space and so you could end up being overtaken from the right or left (now if one is naive to assume that everyone will follow the rules and overtake only from right, then my friend you have to accept the reality out there).

So if you hog the middle of road you are essentially on a double edged sword where you can either be bumped from the right or left ! And that is why i say stick to the left and rule out (or reduce) the possibility of someone overtaking you from left.. and if you get bumped from the left, remember you will end up falling in to the path of oncoming traffic (or in the middle of the road) and risk being run over by a vehicle coming in the opposite direction/behind you (imagine in this case if this guy was even more to the right and the car decided to overtake from left and hit him on the left!.. he would have been under the bus!)
These are just ways in which you can minimize chances of an accident.. we haven't yet found a way to eliminate accidents.

I think that accident is the result of group ride discipline...also, since he was riding at constant or uniform speed due to group he should keep an eye on rvm for overtaking vehicle which in any case will not trail you as per your speed ( in india) ...aram se thoda left le ke car ko nikalne deta but may be he was so much focussed on his group that he didn't noticed a car want to overtake him.

I dont know why some riders think that Indian roads are safe for riding like rulebook group ride..its all fish market and jungle out there on road in India....you have to adapt accordingly to safeguard yourself. These all riders disciplne stuff applies in western country roads only, not in India.
