Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Exactly... Above 4k rpm my hand goes numb...a weird sensation starts feeling in legs...Originally posted by xearoum View PostI am actually surprised that you can ride dominar above 4k. It feels like brand new splendor running at 120kmph.
Yesterday i pushed it and i felt it less but it was there.. The vibrations..

The buzz is felt more in the 85 to 100 range and once crossing 100kmph it is kowers down. But i have heard from owners who got more services done that it has reduced considerably.Originally posted by Ghostfreak View PostExactly... You should get you bike checked then. I do not feel any vibration that will numb my hands. My pulsar 180 had more vibration.Originally posted by Ghostfreak View PostMy bike has undergone it's first service as of now... Yesterday i pushed it a little... Tighten all the nuts and bolts and oil the chain.

At speeds of 80-100 rvm vibrate a lot making them almost useless. Do you have this problem?Originally posted by benz View PostYou should get you bike checked then. I do not feel any vibration that will numb my hands. My pulsar 180 had more vibration.

Nope. I get little vibration in 1st to 3rd grear at 4k RPM. At higher gear and higher speed it's smooth.Originally posted by Ghostfreak View PostAt speeds of 80-100 rvm vibrate a lot making them almost useless. Do you have this problem?

I am quite suprised by that statement! The same 373cc engine works very smoothly for me. Albeit in a different frame. Probably due to RBW.Originally posted by xearoum View PostI am actually surprised that you can ride dominar above 4k. It feels like brand new splendor running at 120kmph.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
You are referrrring to KTM which is a high compression engine with DOHC and produces 8 more horses. Bajaj has done a fair job of taming the beast of an engine to suit the cruisers character. But the downgrade to SOHC could be causing the vibes (just a speculation). Because what I have observed is that in DOHC engines the secondary Cams take over at higher rpms and vibes suddenly reduce when this happens. They could have retained the DOHC configuration in place of two extra spark plugs.. my 2 cents.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
My reason to buy dominar was high performance commuter. Quick acceleration within 3k-6k RPM was my expectation. Test ride got me all excited and there was no waiting too. Now you'll see why I am really really frustrated. My commute is strictly 3-4k. Deliberately running in higher gears to keep higher speed with lowest RPM. Service guys says, bada engine hai Sir. Vibrations toh hoga hi(big capacity motor will vibrate). And when questioned about the test bike, he says let your bike run for 5000kms. It will also become smooth. I mean, its such a nice bike.. effective and safe. Power is there but just not usable. That's making me mad.Originally posted by benz View PostNope. The run-in also makes a difference. I noticed that the vibrations were noticeable at 70+ KMs during the 1K Run-in. Now at 1500 Kms, the vibrations are noticeable only at 80+ Kms. Hoping to see the 80+ Kms vibrations reduce after the 2K run-in period.Originally posted by Ijs View PostThe buzz is felt more in the 85 to 100 range and once crossing 100kmph it is kowers down. Good point...most of us are moving from lower cc bikes. Riding style also needs to adjust to Dominar.Originally posted by leech View Postxearoum - practice riding the bike at high rpms. It gets a bit difficult to control at first, but eventually, it gets fun.
Let's give it some time, say 5k KMs and see the feedback.

Thanks leech/I ride alone. With enormous number of kilometres under my belt, I can safely say that higher RPM even on 600cc+ has never been an issue. However, I consider myself a safe rider who likes to commute smoothly. Dominar is just not letting me.Originally posted by I Ride Alone View PostGood point...most of us are moving from lower cc bikes. Riding style also needs to adjust to Dominar.

I have done more than 4200km and now the bike feels more smooth and negligible vibrations ...except for a few loose nut bolts :-)Originally posted by I Ride Alone View PostGood point...most of us are moving from lower cc bikes. Riding style also needs to adjust to Dominar.
