Hey Man, I am not a Dominar owner currently, but I am a prospective buyer and have followed this thread diligently from the get go.
Here are the reasons why I would advise someone to go for the D400 -

BTW, do consider the RS 200 as well if your brother is new to biking.Originally posted by Live free ride hard View PostWhat kind of problem bro??? Can u plz elaborate?
Offers a very smooth ride with a single channel ABS and top notch power for a 200 cc (more power than the FZ25).#Shadowfax Apache RTR 180 ABS - 2014 - 2019

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I feel you brother. But we must understand that so much tech at cut throat price will come with its own set of niggles. I am rather content that at least the breaks assure safety. Yamaha is a global leader and understands Indian market well. If they went the fz15 direction, bike would have costed 50k more and would not have met the needs of it's target audience. Which on the other hand, Bajaj has done significantly better. I reckon the words of their Indian MD. it's a tried and tested formula and it is reliable. Now I know what he was trying to say.Originally posted by Khushal Mistry View Posti m ready to sell my dominar. sort and final ans of you.
not at all smooth bike. and service is very bad. even bajaj service person dont know about bike.
fz25 does not come with abs so i bought dominar. i want ABS as priority. so dominar is cheapest option available.
in last 86days of ownership my bike was at service station for total of 9 days ( 4 times ) and still problem is continue.

[QUOTE=IamAditya;1295493]It can be driven frenetically, but that's when I start noticing the vibrations and the unrefined feel of the ride.Originally posted by I Ride Alone View PostIn reviews especially Sergeant said, domi is just perfect to ride like a naked!
I too have the same opinion.
But with steady/controlled acceleration, the bike responds beautifully. It fact, feels very smooth too. The gears shift without any sounds, vibrations are minimal.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
According to one of my friends who is a chartered accountant the effect of gst on motorcycles will be negligible. The gst rates will be lower compared to what we are paying now.But govt will introduce surcharges to compensate for the revenue loss. And july implementation is also unlikely and may extend to september.Originally posted by srisathiyan89 View PostWhat would be the effect of GST on premium bike segment after implementation?? post July??
Will the prices come down or it may increase??
Is it right time to buy or wait and buy after july??Last edited by jidhinml; 05-18-2017, 08:08 PM.

1. Prices very rarely come down.
2. Bajaj may not upgrade Dominar in the near future.
3. There are lot of 'IFs' in GST implementation.
Considering this, I would recommend that you go ahead and purchase if funds are available.
Cheers.

I travel up and down IT highway daily. Comfortable cruising at 70 KMs. Get a mileage of 32 kmpl when driving sane. 28 when driving frenetically.
ABS works great. Has a large turning radius due to longer wheel base. But this gives very good stability.
Haven't had the infamous throttle lag issue.
Vibrations are noticeable at 80 kmph. But nothing major. Expecting to reduce after a few thousand KMs.
Cheers.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello bros.
Fernanda - 5000kms update:
The engine is much smoother after 3 oil changes now. No bothering vibrations when I ride with full gear on. I mostly do so. Tank panel vibrations sorted out way back.
Problems faced yet:
- gear shifts are hard until 4th gear.
- chain hits the slider above the swing arm when running over pot holes/undulations even when slightly loose.
- throttle lag between 2-3k rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear. (No I'm not lazy to downshift) This happens even when the input is constant at 2.5krpm
- the radiator fan runs forever after a ride. Once it ran almost 15mins when I stopped after a 100km ride.
Not sure I can sort out this Bajaj SVC any sooner.Ride Safe!
Cheers,
Maneesh S
