I doubt that you need to adjust your tappet nuts, I hope you dont hear the knocking sound, Also the next few months being summer time..it's best not to tighten these nuts.. even if there's slight play it's ok. If it's tighten your engine will heat up more. Though, in both of my services service advisor didnt suggest to tighten the nuts.

It's actually done if a complete engine work is done.. like replacement of pistons...crankshaft..piston rings etc .. If god forbid engine work was done then it's best to adjust the tappet nuts after 600-700 kms along with replacement of engine oil

            Status update:
Gave my bike for checkup and they kept it for one day. They opened the tank and retightened everything that they were supposed to. Vibes are much more tolerable now. Something I am very happy about. They have fixed the oil leakage again but am not relying on it much. They said it's fixed last time as well. The false neutral is also sorted out and the bike feels more performance oriented in the below 4k RPM range. When asked about the ECU update, they(Pune) have no awareness about it. So it's pretty much the same old April update. I'll be calling the other service enter in to check the status. But overall, am quite happy with this much improved vehicle.

Guys I got my bike from 1st servicing today. But while taking the delivery I found that the rear brake unit moves slightly upon braking. Upon asking they said its normal, anyone else noticed this?

Valve clearance interval is mentioned at the service reminder page at the back of your manual. At the valve clearances are checked during the first and or second service interval and then after a set kays like 8k or 9k kms and subsequently.

                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                THE END

New ecu update would hopefully be available by end of next week. It is file 112 for abs and 113 for non abs.

Gave for second service in Pune, clocked 5000 + kms. SC said no ecu update as of today. Will go for oil change. Going with SC recommended Total as otherwise the oil filter replacement is a hassle if i do it. Waiting to see if it rides even better than before.

                      Slight play is by design.

That's a relief to know. I thought something has gone loose and the sc guys are just being lazy to fix it...

Thanks Sir, I went through your posts on bmc portal and i must say, a lot of useful information you have shared. Especially the one about clutch play. Took your advise and loosened the clutch just bit. The thud noise has gone drastically low and the gear shift a even better! Thanks a bunch!
