Please do not lug the engine...It causes knocking depending on the power Vs gearing, and can Harm the engine..esp., the connecting rod and it's bearing...This will necessitate part engine rebuild.

I appreciate the concern but on a day to day basis I do not lug the engine. In fact I rarely go above 4th in the city Just tried this a few times. Interesting to know what the engine is capable of.

        To the prospective buyers.
Today called up the sales manager of Kochi and he said there might be a price hike in the coming month and they recieved an email regarding the same. Also I think with the proposed 31% GST ,on the road prices will be marginally higher
        What's your take folks?

Thanks Harry for the link and price.

Regarding gear indicator, I agree one gets used to the rpm and speed characteristics of a machine and hence doesn't need a great indicator. Definitely helps a novice, but for even for an experienced rider having used the gear indicator feature before, I know it just does a bit of help to keep the mind free from one bit less information. Nothing else.

I mean, seriously.. my bike doesn't do this. I am almost dead below 2k RPM.
This is absolutely normal, and every bike is capable to do it, given a flat ground with cumulative slope being 1. And as has been shared in next few posts, it's not that it can't be done, but it shouldn't be done. 😋

            Hi everyone,

Quick update for Vadodara Dominar owners. I just spoke to the Service Engineer and he said that he got a mail from Bajaj yesterday about the ECU update. he confirmed it is the same as the one I told him i.e. 112 and 113 (thanks to the members on this forum). He told me that a separate enginner will come and re calibrate the tool they use to update the ECU and then give me a call some time next week for the update to the bike.

He was insisting that I may have to leave the bike for a day, but I do not think the ECU update takes more than half an hour. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Will keep you guys updated about the process.

Thanks much! We had a hero glamour (1st Gen) for a few years and yes, it had splendid low end torque. Dominar has been.. not so pleasing down there, if you get the vibe. (but you do get the vibes.&#128514. Jokes apart, my bikes doesn't perform this well. Probably this guy is just 20kg. I cannot imagine the FE one can achieve but just riding on the torque wave.

Got the ECU updated yesterday in Madurai, Balamuruga bajaj. Totally lag free, stutter free now. I'm really happy with the update. 30kmph @ 2000 rpm in 4th and it pulls away with out any fuss or harm to engine. No problem below 3000 rpm in any gear. From 60 Kmph in 6th pulls up easily. I guess there will be drop in mileage. Let's see.
                    Ride Safe!

                    Cheers,
                    Maneesh S

So this happened, I got a service symbol (spanner) shown in the speedometer. It was shown first at 450kms for first service, next it was supposed to show at 4500 but it didn't come up. I did my second service at 7000kms as I was on tour. I did complete oil change at 7000kms to Motul. Now somewhere at 8250kms the service symbol shows up. Did that happen with anyone else? I checked up with bajaj svc yesterday and they were clueless, told me it happened due to some software issue, it won't affect anything and he removed the spanner symbol. Next is up at 9450kms it will show up.

Hi I went today to my nearest bajaj showroom(Dewan motor) as my friend is purchasing new bike and the showroom experience was very bad and not as good as Hero or Yamaha so my friend backed out completely
Is this normal with every bajaj showroom or was it specific to this one only.

Our key is of the same size as that of the tool the service center uses for adjustments. For smooth gear shifting do this adjustment after every 700-800 kms
