Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The tyres need some warming up before you ride hard or ride in rain. There is no tyre that can perform vastly better than the other in rainy conditions on Indian roads. Pilot street radial are the worst for the money you pay(Rs.5500). Had them in my CBR and i regreted. They take so much time to heat up. Even the Metzelers are not that much worthy for 8 grand on wet conditions. As of now MRF Revz radial is the only better choice. If you are planning to import or get something from gray market, of course if you are not concerned about the cost, try the Michelin Pilot road 4 for the front. They are excellent touring tyres with wet grip.Originally posted by Ghostfreak View PostI'm not happy with the performance of tyres specially when road conditions change...today i was riding it in rain...i didn't even lean..was taking a long curve to get off the highway and bam rear tyre went out of line twice.. For a moment i thought I'm gonna fall or slide but i somehow managed.
And it is not the first time it happened..
Lemme know what you guys think of it
Shall i change my tyres to something better...
I mean even if I'm not leaning..it was just a tiny tiny incline to the left how could the tyre can go out of line?Ride Safe!

Oh ty...will sure doOriginally posted by zma0101 View PostCannot be adjusted manually , it's all linked to ecu .. the ideal rpm is 1600.. which is the normal.. there are some bikes which has faced the stalling issue. Ride it for a day or two, part aggressive part gentle .. let it settle.. though technically speaking ..once the update is done it should behave according to the cpmmand given by the new software.. but sometimes in some bike it takes time.. Now what happens if even after 2-3 days ou still undergo the stalling issue.. Unfortunately, you will have to re visit the service center ..and tell the head technicall depatment that the ecu update wasn't done properly..and they will have to re do it .. once this is done ride for 10kms on a normal speed .. and then test your bike.. it should work ..

Yes as per my info from my sources ..they have but you will have to call up a few service centers and inquire about it, speak directly to the service head ..most prominent service centers will have the latest ecu files

I will change both tyres if I've to... But main concern is rear tyre...as it occurs if i sometime open my throttle a bit even on tarmac and bike is slightly leaned...rear tyre just slide sideways before going straight up.Originally posted by sman999 View PostThe tyres need some warming up before you ride hard or ride in rain. Budget? Usage? What are the options you got?Originally posted by vivz1989 View PostHello sman999
What's your take on the dominar shld I go for it or no?
For me i had booked duke390 but went for dominar... Sometimes I'm happy sometimes I'm not, to be honest...
Some will argue that you get what you pay for or something like that...
I've driven my dominar 2k+ kms and I'm hoping the things I'm concerned will be solved eventually... Rattling noise and i think my exhaust has like baffle blown out noise... i don't know exactly though...display is just black screen in sunlight..
I've yet to update my ecu.. Let's see how things improve on the engine side..
If you don't have that much budget and you want something powerful... You can't go wrong with dominar..

Mojo is a good bike...if you like the styling and can live with it. Dominar is certainly better.Originally posted by vivz1989 View PostBudget is 2 so my only worry is the quality
I had a ns 200 was not quit happy so in town minds
I really like the mojo too
I also heard that the dominar abs is not that nippy what's your call
About the ABS, it doesn't feel that good... But don't take my word for it as I've never used a bike before with ABS... Maybe that's how it is supposed to work..
Or maybe just maybe it's bcoz of those tires or brake pads or what not.
You gotta take the test ride before making up your mind.
I was in the market to buy duke390 but settled for dominar.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi guys,
Had the same issue today even after 2nd servicing before a week. The bike was not starting. For the first 3 times the ignition sound came but didn't start. From then even that didn't come I was just pressing the button. I was in traffic signal and had to pull over to the side and had to run and start with many onlookers waiting for the green light. what might be the problem?

As I've heard from my girl and cousin, pillion seat is not that comfortable for long rides.. But it is better than other...so you might need to increase cushioning... But it depends upon driving style too... i drive fast so they constantly have to adjust that might be the reason behind the discomfort..Originally posted by vivz1989 View PostI like dominar but iam concerned about the pillion iam heavy and my gal friend too so I want a comfortable bike of city as well as long rides
