Ideally we should be fully kitted out while riding but then that isnt always possible. Of course I follow the Helmet rule without any exceptions. Got my wife one too since she rides pillion.

We are both using Studds since I also had a horrible accident when I was your age and the helmet took a massive beating but didnt crack. My head was stuck under an auto rickshaw for a few seconds.

Anyway Im glad since then ABS has become such a mainstream safety option. Having a safety net like this definitely puts my mind at ease. But then again one can never control the other idiots on the road.

By the way I know we are off topic but what did the Jazz driver say/do after this? Did he at least accept responsibility?

Plastic or metal helmet? I got a new steelbird air that is high impact plastic. I am not sure now if that was a good idea. Is metal better, any opinions

                Hello everyone,

I had been to Bajaj dealership today to book a D400 for myself but was surprised to see the price bumped up by about 6k in comparison to the quotation I received from the same dealer couple of weeks back. When inquired they stated that Bajaj has hiked the price of D400 from 2nd March.

Needless to say i did not book the bike as I wanted to be sure whether the price hike is for real or a bluff from the dealer to make some extra money.

Can anyone please confirm whether the price has been hiked officially? I checked the ex showroom price on Bajaj Auto website for ABS model which is about 151xxx for Nashik Maharashtra while the ex showroom cost quoted by the dealer to me is 154xxx.

They have added up costs for compulsory accessories worth 1150, handling charges 800 and cost of insurance is about 5400 which was 4400 in the last quotation.

Will contacting Bajaj auto be of any help here?

                  Some updates guys.

Installed a couple of accessories. Switched the place of horn. Pics and explanations are below.

This is how the underneath of rider seat looks and I had connected two line separately for mobile charger and 12v cigarette lighter socket. That grey hose is where the wires of the 12v socket is concealed for hassle free removal.

This is the RideOn robotouch charger that I had installed on the Rvm mount. Zip tied the wires to my perfection.

The installed 12v socket concealed in plastic hose. I mainly use this for air compressor.

I was not happy with the placement of horn in the stock horn clamp. I felt it might damage the radiator if hit. Also when the handle bar is pushed to the extreme left it slightly touches the horn if mounted there. So mounted it on the other side as the other horn below. So now it's mounted on either side of the lower clamps of the radiator. The problem was running the horn wire to the other side. Had to figure out a DIY due to the danger of hot exhaust nd radiator.

There was this pipe lying around in house unused. (some thing that's a part of toilet flush tank) So I made use of it to conceal wires from the heat of the engine, radiator & exhaust pipe. It sits behind the radiator clamps where the horn are mounted.

Be cautious as the lower radiator clamps are flimsy and I stupidly bent it one side while trying the bend the horn clamp after mounting on it.

Some more pics of the DIY hose.

This is the major culprit for the rattling noise under the rear seat while running over pot holes/undulations. So zip tied it and now it's arrested. Still one slight noise is there. Will figure that out soon.

And finally, I found out that the Rvm's are screwed in too much. So twisted few turns and the height has raised up my few mm. Better but still not the best.

Sorry for the long post. 🙂

Today I did a test drive of Dominar
Bike feels heavy and big compared to ns
Low end is awesome it doesn't feel out of power Even with h 90+kg showroom staff (unlike ns it feels like 150 cc with pillion and with heavy Handel ) almost zero vibration till 4.5~5k rpm after 5k there was a buzzing noise riding posture is upright and suspension is soft compared with ns Bike looks muscular.

Got confirmed at the local SVC today that the disc isn't warped, thank heavens, but they weren't able to find a solution to the mild screeching. And they only said the repeated jerks is the abs acting. But what about the bike not coming to a stop immediately under hard braking instead fishtails and jerks, no one knows. Going to CBE tomo and getting it checked at the SVC there on Monday. Will keep it posted

PS: reg your query, yea I was talking about the disc plate. They said warping occurs under repetetive hard braking when the disc becomes extremely heated and still the rider continues to brake hard. I was under this doubt because when I rode to Cudapah, numerous "invisible" speedbreakers caused me to hardbrake very often. But good God, the disc isn't warped.

how did they confirm the disc is not warped.. just curious.
did you try riding another dominar ?
i still put my money on a bad disc rotor - i've had the front rotor replaced twice on my d200, once due to unbearable squealing when it gets warm and the second time due to warping which made it almost impossible to grab a hold of the brakes at speeds greater than 50.
these svc guys will try to do everything to avoid replacing a part under warranty. stay around and get it fixed. The first time they decided to replace the rotor, the bike had run less than 2000km iirc and the mechanic said 'saar, come tomorrow morning i will swap the entire front wheel of your bike with one from a new d200' . I was taken back, and laughed it off (din't want to be rude) and told them to simply get a new rotor.. which they did and the packing was opened in front of me and replaced.

Well, thank you for the info bro. Will get it checked at CBE on Monday and let you know what happens.
They said, that the jerking whike hardbraking is infact a symptom of disc warp, though they couldn't find any. I was there when they checked for it. They had some kind of a white chalk/marker thing and rotated the front wheel to check for a bend or something.
Will try riding another Dominar tomo, meeting the clan at CBE.
That's some sad thing, reg your d200. I'll make sure whatever happens it is in front of me

Yesterday I went to bajaj dealer and there is no change/bump in the price.

Its always better to call bajaj cuatomer care and get the things clarified.

there is a video on youtube regarding exhaust change. you can check that... sounds nice.

There is only one ECU upgrade out now which was done on first service. For further ecu updates you have to ask service center manager.
