Did anyone figure out how to dismantle the tank extensions for checking the air filter? I want to remove them and do some DIY for arresting the vibrations from the tank.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I hijacked FZ25 thread and was almost convinced that my next bike will be Yamaha and FZ25 it will be. Having experienced their stupid sales and service Centre, I think I'll be more happy to stay with Bajaj. They waited for sunset to give me test ride, oh they know Dominar has a mini sun in place of the headlight. 😀
The only thing that is concerning is, the issues that I am reading here. This is quite nerve wracking actually.Regards,

To answer your nerve wracking situation, first just sit back and list down your expectations clearly on a piece of paper, and put a budget on it. See if the issues that you read here are related to your requirements directly.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostI hijacked FZ25 thread and was almost convinced that my next bike will be Yamaha and FZ25 it will be. About dominar, yes there are issues, and many of us have been supporting each other and also by Bajaj to resolve the same. As of now all I can say is that we are definitely enjoying our rides.
Better to take test drives, as many times you want before putting in your hard earned money.

I can +1 to that. Dominar's biggest drawback (IMO) is the vibrations part. But the pull you get here with ABS safety net is missing on FZ.Originally posted by srijan88 View PostTo answer your nerve wracking situation, first just sit back and list down your expectations clearly on a piece of paper, and put a budget on it. If they would ever release ABS version, I would probably keep it as my second bike too.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks bhai. I ride a P220 so I think I can manage the vibrations and rattling. I've had very nice experience with staff of Bajaj service and sales. I am somehow not a fan of ABS, especially in bikes. I am in that group of people who want to learn and sharpen the skills of motorcycling. Braking, to me, is an art and I want to perfect it. I am not riding a monster 600/1000 and I understand there will be counter for this as well. For the peace of mind and humanely attitude Bajaj ASC shows is something of a huge miss from Yamaha and Honda. Thanks for the inputs. It's reassuring that Bajaj ain't that bad at all.Originally posted by srijan88 View PostTo answer your nerve wracking situation, first just sit back and list down your expectations clearly on a piece of paper, and put a budget on it. Thanks bhai for the inputs. As I said, I am on a P220 and that thing is absolutely sweet, although it rattles like the rattle snake. [emoji16]Originally posted by xearoum View PostI can +1 to that. I won't be going for ABS version(budget constraints and for perfection of riding) which keeps it close to 20k difference in the price when pitted against FZ25. Slipper clutch, mini sunlight, Bajaj after sales service and affordable parts are something that I'd really appreciate.Regards,

Glad I could provide some info for your buying decision. But.. to be honest with you.. if only Yamaha could deliver fz25 on time, I would have never bought dominar. Not that I regret the decision.. but if ABS is not your priority.. you should think again.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post

Someone mentioned that if you are a tourer, you can't go wrong with dominar. But when you mix daily commute, dominar becomes a harley with less power and fz becomes an activa with stupendous acceleration. Rest is your heart. Which obviously gets to decide.. not you and me.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
So moving from P220, FZ25 makes more sense than Dominar? That's astonishing. The only fly in the ointment is to deal with the uninterested dealer. Oh man, I had better experience with Chevrolet showroom just for the heck of it.Originally posted by xearoum View PostGlad I could provide some info for your buying decision. Hello again. Some of us here were asked to sign the gate pass and wait for hours to get the test ride too. Bike will stay for years; not the dealer. Dominar imo is much better but if you lose abs, I would probably not buy. Don't let such small things ruin your experience. Or is it that there is only one dealer in your vicinity?Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostSo moving from P220, FZ25 makes more sense than Dominar? That's astonishing. Is the exhaust noice like a faint bass note? I get this noise wen im off the trottle and the bike is just moving on its momentumOriginally posted by Ghostfreak View PostBudget? Usage? What are the options you got?
For me i had booked duke390 but went for dominar... Sometimes I'm happy sometimes I'm not, to be honest...
Some will argue that you get what you pay for or something like that...
I've driven my dominar 2k+ kms and I'm hoping the things I'm concerned will be solved eventually... Rattling noise and i think my exhaust has like baffle blown out noise... i don't know exactly though...display is just black screen in sunlight..
I've yet to update my ecu.. Let's see how things improve on the engine side..
If you don't have that much budget and you want something powerful... You can't go wrong with dominar..

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Bro I guess u shld use power fuel because it distilled and good for your engine lifeOriginally posted by I Ride Alone View PostBike came back after cleaning the throttle body. The stalling is reduced.
Service engineer claims that bad fuel could cause deposits on throttle body.
Also, there is a idling adjustment on the throttle body, but it is not recommended to be adjusted as ECU takes care of idling RPM.
Service engineer recommended not to adjust anything as the mileage is good (30+) at this point.
Cheers.

Will change on my next refuel.
BTW, the stalling issue continues even after cleaning the throttle body.
