Buy sol or hjc or MT, smk etc for the above mentioned helmet , finding replacement parts would be a hassle.

        Hello guys!

Today is a very big day for me. I am going to be getting to the showroom in approximately 8 hours for my first bike, which is a white Dominar. I am at work right now, and everyone keeps mentioning how excited I seem to be as I keep reading this forum from time to time and looking for PDI posts online, from India, US and UK. I am literally getting more and more information to how well I should be prepared. I do know the basics, but at the same time they do seem like for people who are familiar with buying bikes in the past. I have ridden quite a few bikes (Duke 200, RE TB500 and Yamaha FZ16) with my longest stretch being on a Duke 200 for a good 150KMs up-down on the Goan coast.

If there are any inputs that you guys can give me, I would really appreciate it. Also, I hail from Pune and I'm buying the bike from Krishna Motors, Wanowrie. The sales guy, Bob, has been so helpful to me throughout the whole process. So far, the whole process has been a smooth sail for me, but I know that was just the trailer. And if you want to know, after a thorough research of watching and reading a ton of stuff online, I decided on the Dominar as the first vehicle purchase of my life. I will be upgrading from a Honda Activa which is my current to-and-fro work ride. Awaiting your responses!

Upload few pics of your beauty.

Remember to check engine oil level and bent radiator fan fins.
I hope you are ready with the rest of the check list

I feel that the weight of the D400 may be uncomfortable in B2B traffic plus that I am returning to biking after about 10 years. Your thoughts please.
I own a Dominar . My suggestion would be to buy FZ 25 or even the Avenger 220 for the purpose you have mentioned . Best way to judge would be to take the bikes for "long rides" ( if you can manage) and see the comfort levels and other features yourself . Shorter test rides do not reveal everything .

Why buy a non-ABS bike when the norms are already going to be changed ?

So this is how the aux light lights up the road.

                  Low beam

                  Low + high beam

Low + high + aux 2x12w in the handle bar, 2x20w in the fog lamp mount.

Actually now the 2x12w set up doesn't even matter so planning to remove them soon.
                  Ride Safe!

                  Cheers,
                  Maneesh S

The buyer has to decide whether to wait or buy immediately . ABS is a good feature but purchase decision of the buyer is perhaps not solely dependent on this feature .

You are right, but think of safety first compared to other features. ABS is life saver. You will only appreciate it once you experience that ABS saved you. I applied full brakes on a 100kmph speed on a complete wet road. Some idiot truck driver decided to cross the roads without headlight. Believe me, my mind was prepared for a fall down, slide and hit the truck. I even had a flash of me going to hospital. But the bike just stopped 3 ft from the truck. My heart was pounding so loud and I could not even scold that driver.

No one , who has ridden the Dominar , would argue on the goodness of the braking system . But purchasing decisions are not solely based on "this bike has ABS , so I want to buy it " . The buyer needs to take the decision keeping in mind his needs and the urgency , if any , or wait for the ABS versions of FZ 25 or the Avenger 220 . ABS is new to the Indian biking . Bikers have been riding non-abs motorcycles for years . ABS is good but what if they are not available in the selected model ? Wait for it .

ORIGINE are new helmet brand on the block, though they are mentioned as they are an Italian brand, I reckon they are all manufactured in China like all other helmets. I've seen models starting from 5200 and 9200 and upwards of 12.5k here in Hyderabad. Check the model you're purchasing is genuine and ask for duly signed warranty if any. Also for all your future queries, post your queries at the dedicated Helmet thread.

Buy riding gear online at Motogear Performance. You get best motorcycle helmets, jackets, gloves, pants, boots and intercom device from best brands in India.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                          THE END

No load on the electrical system. Would it be good for a 200 km ride in the night.
