    So far so good.

I need to figure out how to add extra lights without much impact to the electrical system and the ECU.... Any thoughts?

I had almost bought the bullet but went ahead with this at the last moment. The bullet is no doubt a good bike and there is no comparison between these two but I am glad I got this one.

Regarding the lights...how bad do you want them? Do you ride long distances at night? Or is it just city night riding, maybe work-home run...I don't see a point installing aux lights unless you're a hardcore night rider (pun intended :P). If you do want them, invest in some better branded lights. Rest all made in china selling for anything around INR 1000 is crap.

People with over five feet and 8 inches should be more comfy on Dominar. Domy is more of a tourer with good city driving capabilities.
Apache is for those who are under five feet 8 inches. tall people are not welcomed to apache community. its a street fighter bike.
New upcoming Akula is going to be for those under 5.8 feet and who wants a track bike. i don't think, it would be comfortable for taller people.

Now, In which category you fall in?

No point in buying Akula if you are a tall person who wants a relaxed riding posture bike. I can only fit on Dominar cuz i am 6 ft tall who wants relaxed riding posture. even on FZ25, my wrists pain a bit. cuz a bit heavy and tall. might get habituated, if i ride long. not sure though.

      Haha, totally my man!
I was not comparing like with like here. Just my preferences.
So regarding Akula, I was of the opinion that it will be more of a CBR250-ish bike rather than a R15 type track bike. The handlebars dont look very dedicated so far.

I am 5'9. And it does feel like most bikes are designed for the 5'8 as an average test rider. Even NS seems super comfortable in this range.

I definitely want a relaxed posture bike. Hence why Dominar is a huge crush.
But seeing as I am an Apache rider for the past 3 years, another Vibey machine reduced the appeal a bit.

I really wanted something that is smooth. But not too costly at this point as I want an upgrade but not a full fledged next level bike.
There is time for that IMO.

Anyway, it feels like I am digressing and rambling out here.
Just wanted to ask if the Vibes have come down or if we will see an upgrade soon.

      Cheers!

Flies like a rocket? Depends on which bike you had ridden. Ride the latest duke 390 and you will dominar is a dumb. Vibration are less even in the duke 390 due to the DOHC setup against the SOHC in Dominar. Wish bajaj just made vibrations less. For me the vibrations are getting worse day by day, not due to loose bolts or tank parts but the engine vibration.

In that case check tank panels & front visor for vibration. The engine mount bolts were not properly tightened when i got her delivered so check that as well.

I know it's from engine only. Does Rev limiter be reset at 1st service or what?

In the real world,it won't matter-and the higher sidewall of the 140/70-17 just might provide you with a cushier ride and more protection to the rim against impact-it might make the bike easier steering too due to its more rounded profile but the thinner rear might make the bike appear a little less macho
I dont know where the sensor is but i agree with that fact. Even the 150/60 looks thin from the rear atleast the MRF revz.

The stock scratch guard was recently removed by the service centre ppl saying that it will get stick to the console bcz of heat and may cause problems.

Bad idea to paste anything on the speedo console guys. It is true that when u park the bike in the sun or where there is heat, the glue would stick on to the plastic and form some weird patches. If you can manage to park in shade always then its ok. Also the polarized screen part should be available as a spare if im not wrong. Ill try to confirm regarding that from the sources i know from bajaj spare counter.

No nothing of that sort. It automatically resets at certain kms on the odo. The first batch didnt have these restrictions.

In fact now that the rev limiter is limited to 9k as opposed to 9.5k when launched. so it kinda feels the engine is not at ease at speeds above 90kmph but the low end jerkiness is reduced after this limiting. Mileage has had an impact, 2-3kmpl down after the ECU update 116. It used to be 33/34kmpl before the update now only 30kmpl and rarely 31kmpl. Mileage check was done riding within 110kmph on the speedo. There is a 5% speedo error on the Dominar generally when measured with GPS apps. That means you actually hit 95kmph when the speedo shows 100kmph.

                  lol

Bikes which have overlapping gears tend to have less vibes. cuz, you would always be at an RPM, which could be ridden in two gears. Look at splendor. you can ride at any speed in two gears (not above 40). but there is no top end.

Bikes with less overlapping ratios tend to have some vibes, cuz, you need to rev up to shift gear up and at this point, some vibes do occur. You will also face some vibes, if you are running at a low RPM in a higher gear ratio, which the engine maynot be able to handle with ease. This is not bajaj's issue. its pure physics.
But the advantages are humongous. Great FE and great Top end. All bajaj bikes have such setup. For me these minor vibes are acceptable as i am getting a great FE without any compromise on top end.
People try to ride at 4000 rpm in 6th gear, which is an overdrive gear and you would definitely face some vibes there as its a big single and you are running at low RPM with a high gear ratio.

Long story short. I don't think, there would be any updates for the next one and a half year or so. Changes needed, if something is missing. i don't see anything missing.
Next upgrade could add dual colors (Going by pulsar upgrades) and different alloys. And maybe a different dome at front.

Forget about those vibes Get the bike. You wont repent.

Ok let's pit it ur way, ride a MOJO and feel the diff in refinement and torque delivery. It has way less torque than dominar but pulls away better. Weighs the same too. This shi**y ecu map is what is stopping the dominar. MOJO has its own cons like serviceability, spares, bad quality, paint job, mediocre brakes, no abs...

Mojo doesnt have good top end. Also, it is a Fuel guzzler. Its gears are short, so you feel more power in every gear.
On the other hand, Dominar is exact opposite of Mojo.

Get Mojo and Dominar fuel filled to Brim and go on a long drive at 80 KMPH. I am sure, both will run equal distance even though Mojo has 21L tank, which is greater by almost 8L over Dominar. (guessing it.)

Try handguard spacers of KTM Duke 390. Mine has reduced by a good margin by adding that.

I faced a weird issue in my dominar. The bike has done nearly 1300 kms so far and I have taken it to a long ride. I gradually opened the throttle and the speedo was touching 105 kmph in 6th gear of rpm range 5000, suddenly the rpm light started to blink and I reduced the bike speed to 80 kmph. Since the bike is running in, I was very gentle on the throttle inputs, but still I doubt regarding the rpm limit kicking in as early as 5000 rpm. Is this a normal behavior or do I need to get it checked?

The engine might have heated up, the ECU restrict the rpm when engine is heated beyond a limit.

                              Hello All,

I am trying to add some additional Aux lights to my Dominar. However, I am unsure how much wattage/ampere lights I would need to be using. I have currently made a custom electrical harness with a 40 A relay and a 10 A Blade fuse, directly drawing power from the battery. The lights I am looking to add are 40W each. 40w x 2 would be 80 W. This would mean around 6.7 Amps. Would this be too much of a current draw?

Any help on this is much appreciated.

                              Regards,
                              Deepak

For the extra lights, the best way to do it is by using a relay and drawing the power directly from the battery along with a blade fuse.. Zero modification on the stock electrical this way.

New lot bikes which from May 2017 onwards has RPM limiter light glowing at 5.5k rpm and power cut at 6k i guess till the duration of 2000kms it is the new speedo software. And it is to prevent owners to over revv the engine imduring the run in period. This would go once u pass the 2000kms mark.

If it is not the above then it might be possible that the engine was overheating coz of low coolant level or the thermostat could be at fault or the fan is not working.
There is a fail safe in case of overeating which prevents the rpm to go above 4k.

Do get the thing checked up.
