Cone set bolt could be too tight get it checked.Originally posted by Sheikhsi View PostHi guys . I have done around 6500 on my dominar . Two services done . Recently while riding in bumper to bumper traffic , I am experiencing that the bike handle slightly tilts to the left while applying brakes . Because of that my left hand pains a lot and feels numb. Before I go to the SC , please let me know what would be the cause here ?? Air pressure is normal in both tires and filled with nitrogen also recently ..

Check your T stem bearing, if it's on the tighter side, handling is affected and likewise it's the same for a loose fork nut. Get them checked, tightened or loosened and try to do a proper test drive.Originally posted by Sheikhsi View PostHi guys . I have done around 6500 on my dominar . Two services done . The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
hello,
i am planning to do the oil change for my dominar myself, but many people are saying that it is extremely difficult job we have to take out the entire exhaust assembly to gain access to drain nuts. if anyone has done oil change themselves or know how its done please share your experience." That work is not that easy. You need to remove the exhaust assembly for Oil changes. Also, you need to remove Fuel tank to clean spark Plugs properly. Dominar has 3 spark plugs.
I recommend you to go to SVC for Oil changes & for other services. Try to learn how they do it. Once you are comfy after 2/3 services, you can attempt on your own.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi Guys, Prabhakar here from bangalore, have been a silent reader in this blog for a while to help me take a decision on purchasing Dominar.
So here it goes, Its like 3 weeks since i purchased the bike; have completed 1600kms till date and i have a couple of issues so thought of sharing it to you guys for feedbacks.
1. The paint in the alloys are wearing off, Before taking it to SVC i wanted to know what needs to be done as in like replace the alloys considering it to be a defect?
2. There are vibration, post 70kmph i mean sometimes i feel my fingers Numb, same goes with the foot-pegs any solution? (I have toured extensively on 200NS before, this kind of vibrations were felt on after 110kmph)
3. the LEDS are brilliant, yet I feel the intensity/spill could have been better for corners. any solutions for this, in city riding this is not a issue but on touring this is something which i feel needs to taken care.
and any common issues which you guys have that i need to look into and take care about it.
Thanks in advance.-----

In all of these posts of self servicing , i never seen anyone mention how they plan to dispose off the used oil.
My advice, head to the service center. Its a lot less messy that way.
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
Paint peeling and chipping is covered under warranty, i have the same issue, i would take it up with the service center probably after a year or so in my case. I dont want them opening up the wheels and scratching the bike all over the place.Originally posted by prabhakar.p View PostHi Guys, Prabhakar here from bangalore, have been a silent reader in this blog for a while to help me take a decision on purchasing Dominar.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
This is an uncommon issue but is definitely fixable. Do a simple test.. get yourself some chalk and tighten it on both sides of the front wheel rim (mounted on the suspension and pointing towards the rim). Make sure it's as close as you can get and doesn't touch the wheel. Drag the bike for one full circle and see if there is a chalk mark on the rim. If yes, you will have to claim insurance probably. Because service center wouldn't care for a bent rim imo.Originally posted by Sheikhsi View PostHi guys . I have done around 6500 on my dominar . Two services done . If there is no chalk mark, pick some speed and apply front break. Check the rim again. If you see the chalk mark this time, your axel nuts are lose. If you still can't see the mark, then suspension assembly might have gone kaput.

No u don't have to remove the full exhaust jus the lower cowl needs to be removed.Originally posted by aashray223 View Posthello,

U have to open darin bolt, magnetic filter and oil filter to empty all the oil.
But as the other rider buddy said if u don't have a way to dispose old oil, best to do it at the svc.

Thank you for the input given the fact that I just need to change oil and nothing else which seems doable I'll give it a shot.Originally posted by Ijs View PostNo u don't have to remove the full exhaust jus the lower cowl needs to be removed.

They put some WD40 and kept the bike in the Sun for 30 mins. No issues since then.Originally posted by Somesh1902 View PostAre you guys facing problem with fuel cap it doesn't comes off easily, or it has to do with some sort of technique to open it . Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi, i saw the whole process at svc . Mechanic only removed the engine guard/bashplate and did all the work. Only problem will be that the drain oil will fall on your exhaust pipe which can be wiped off or it will give burning smell for sometime.Originally posted by aashray223 View Posthello,

I think you can go for it yourself but if you arr not confident observe it once at svc and next time you can DIY
Just be a little responsible in discarding the used oil properlyLast edited by Cruisemonk; 10-13-2017, 06:18 PM.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I prefer to have the oil change done first when the engine is warm and then the last step as washing the bike since that will eliminate the need to clean the spilled oil over exhaust and the burning smell later on.Originally posted by Cruisemonk View PostHi, i saw the whole process at svc . Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello everyone. I have been following this thread for quite a long time now. So, got my Midnight Blue Dominar on 30th September and just had the first free service today. Bike seems to be running smooth now. Noticed some smooth gear shifting. Must say that clutch is super light, which helps a lot in bumper to bumper traffic [emoji1] . Breaks are super duper awesome along with ABS ❤ .
Did not went above 4k rpm yet but I have to admit that even in 4k, there is tremendous amount of power just waiting to roar out of the engine [emoji106]
For now, just took some snaps.[emoji328]

It doesn't matter what you ride. What matters is, You Ride.
