One simple step is to allow to engine to reach operating temperature. Sit on the bike, engage it in the third gear now apply both the brakes and slowly release the clutch, very very slow, (don't touch the throttle) the moment you start engaging the clutch the bike should stall. If you feel the engine RPM going up and down while you're simultaneously engaging the clutch then we have worn clutch plates.

As soon as you release the clutch, the bike should stall, if the engine RPM ups and downs while releasing the clutch, and there is a significant amount of lever release before the engine stalls, we have a worn plates.

    Cheers!

I have noticed a major dip in coolant level on my domi. The first service was done a week back, and the coolant was topped up that time. The bike has done 200 kms after that..and the coolant level is on min already! Any idea?

Sounds like what you are saying is if the clutch plates engage as designed, engine should stall. If there is slippage, then rpm will jump up or down and which means the plate is worn.

Exactly. If the RPM jumps erratically means, the clutch is slipping and grabbing that's the reason the rpm ups and downs. The engine should stall the moment it clutch engages with the transmission.

I am still curious about the symptoms. There have been several issues that euu remap to latest version has fixed. Depending on your long experience riding and the fact that your dominar might be new, it's hard to imagine that clutch plates are worn out.

Does anyone know a way to tie a bungee cord at the rear seat to load luggage?

The curious case of the dropping coolant level. Sounds like a case for Shominar Holmes.
First of all, kudos for checking fluid levels regularly. Few do this regularly. Good on you mate.
There was a case of rs200 engine seizing and the rider losing life yesterday. Wonder if the engine oil light was lit up and not noticed.
Oil is changed for the first service. It should not be a dark color now. Have you noticed if the color has changed. It should still be somewhat clear. If it is not and the exhaust fumes smell funny, you have a big problem. Coolant leaking into engine.
But if not, then review riding conditions. Is it bumper to bumper traffic. How much time does the bike spend in gear 1 & 2.
Get the SC to top up on a weekend , go on a highway ride for 4 hours and go back to sc for check up again. Good luck.

Thanks for the appreciation buddy. I prefer to do an overall quick check before starting any of my rides!
And yes..most of my riding is in B2B traffic..and there is no issue with the exhaust smell..it's quite normal! I will get it topped up. Btw any idea about the coolant to be used..so that i can get one for backup!

Not a coolant expert here but the the no brainer answer is to get it from sc. I think the products that Bajaj recommend are fine quality.
Having said that, the coolants go by color. It seems not ok mix yellow with green.
Not so with oils as i have now learnt. Ok to mix synthetic with mineral as long as they are not specifically for 2 stroke.

Oooh, I like this guy. Going for the Grease ninja. I want one too.
Check the 520 which implies an inner width of 6.35 mm.

                            2900km on odo,

i face heavy engine braking in first and second gear.. is it normal.. beyond 2nd gear it's normal.

for example if i am on second gear, and i rev upto 3500-4500rpm, and then releasing throttle feels like back torq and moves me forward

I had that too. Go to sc and get ecu update.
What is engine braking : when you ease off the throttle in lower gear and bike loses momentum.
But this was different, it seemed like the engine was resisting my efforts to twist the throttle after slowing down to gear 1 and 2.
Not sure what changed but i can zoom thru traffic now, there is engine braking in lower gears still but now rev happy in lower gears.
Please do have the sc investigate and let us know.

A quick update! Visited SVC (Kalyani Bajaj) today morning and got the bike checked! They have topped up the coolant and asked me to ride for 150-200 kms and observe for any dip in level! Fingers crossed
