Take out the fuse of ABS when you want to disable ABS.

I would not recommend but i have heard 2 solutions. One is to remove the abs fuse. Second is to unscrew the abs sensor. Abs disables if it cannot read from the disk with slits. The second worked in my case. I had accidentally dinged the disc. Just a slight bend and it disabled the abd. I think there are YouTube videos for both options. Good luck.

After waiting for a good 18 minutes on hold for the Bajaj customer care (no.: 1800 233 2453) executive to answer the call (trust me this is the only frustrating part), they quickly registered my complaint regarding the hard gearshifts, false neutrals and the cuts on my rear tyre.

Spontaneously after giving all the required details and hanging up, I received a text message mentioning the complaint being raised and the ticket number.

The very same day in the evening, I was contacted by the Bajaj head of service for all two wheelers in my state (Goa), Mr. Raju. He politely asked about the issues in detail and asked me when I was free to visit the nearest SVC and he would come there and inspect the bike. I set an appointment for 2 days hence.

Met Raju and showed him the bike, explained to him the issues surrounding the clutch, gears and false neutrals. He then took a short ride for almost 2 minutes, instantly noticed the clutch setting was too tight, made the main mechanic adjust it and then along with the main mechanic at the SVC, went for a longer test ride for almost 15 minutes.

Came back with him, dropped the mechanic and took me for a ride, was very considerate to explain the nits and fine details of how to ride this bike, and also asked me about my past bike ownership, and how I generally ride a bike. His mind was put to ease knowing I had a 1st gen NS and used to ride my brother's RC390 too. He then stopped and asked me to take over. Shockingly I instantly noticed a major improvement with the gearshifts and the best part, the false neutrals seemed to have disappeared, for now (needed more time to confirm and yes it has disappeared).

We then rode back to the SVC and told him about the rear tyre cuts, he desperately tried to check for the cut, but unfortunately it was pouring heavily that day and I encountered a lot of muck along the way, so we couldn't find it. He told me, not an issue, once U go home and find it, click a photo and mark it too. If there is a cut, MRF will be asked to replace the tyre FOC!!!

Also regarding the moisture in the headlamp and speedometer, he said its bound to happen in the rains, but if even a drop of water lands inside, or the moisture that builds up inside has a lot of water droplets that don't dry quick, click a photo instantly and we will replace the entire unit FOC again!!!

Also, he agreed to the issue about the tank pad and its a complaint from all Dominar owners, he said it will be replaced FOC (yet, again 😀) with the new better quality one during my second servicing as they don't have it in stock, but he made the main technician make it a point and noted my name, number and bike registration number too in case the pad comes earlier!

He then asked me if there were any other issues and if he could go ahead and close the ticket based on the feedback given by me. I was just beyond words and happily said absolutely you can 👍

Honestly, was very impressed by the way they handled everything, Bajaj has truly improved a great deal since the early days and they truly believe in customer satisfaction, at least for us Dominar owners. Also, I waited for 2 weeks since this episode and I can confidently say even the false neutrals no longer exist and my bike seems perfect, except for the fact that I was able to find 1 cut on my tyre after washing the bike and also the more importantly, the fact that Bajaj has still not responded to my e-mail 😂

Good luck and ride safe everyone 👍

Hi
Regarding the tyre .Did they say that they will replace the tyre if there is a cut.I want to share my experience here. In my case I tried to escalate the matter to MRF directly through a friend of mine who used to work with MRF couple of year back.Their ADM met me and also did some inspection on my tyre for any tread separation.Later I was informed that the tyre has suffered a *sharp edge tread cut while the bike was in motion .For further inspection from their technical team they would need the tyre ,I don't have any spares now to give them the tyre.So I thought I ll just settle down with what I have and look for a tyre change myself.
Do let me know if they confirm on replacing your tyre.
This is how my cut looks

Hey tuffswooshsamy! Sorry for the delay with replaying, was caught up with loads of work today. Yes regarding the tyre cut, they said they will escalate it with MRF and if there is a cut, they will request for a replacement from MRF on behalf of me.

Well, I never really followed up as my tyre isn't leaking air and I do find my cut insignificant, especially after looking at yours. They definitely need to replace yours as it's quite deep. Please contact Bajaj on their customer care number and raise this complaint. They will follow it up with the chief technician in your location who in turn will solve the issue, hopefully ☺️

I did a test ride of D400 2 days later. Upon starting the engine has a metallic clunky sound, i twist the throttle a bit, and bike lurches forward.. It brought a grin to my face, but the engine character is very different and have a mixed feeling. Overall, i'm impressed, but not fully satisfied. Hope D400 gets a revision and with a new version. Hopefully, then i can get my hands on it forever.

It is really very hard to get tyres replaced for cuts which are caused due to normal riding. Only manufacturing defects are covered under warranty or few companies does cover cuts and nics but MRF (maha raddi factory[emoji12] ) is not that.
I never liked mrf not even their car tyres but this tyre here is one of the best Indian tyre and is a soft compound one thus it is more prone to cuts and damage that our potholes filld road and provide in abundance. One of my friend is in tyre business and i once got my tvs on suzuki fiero replaced under warranty that too they only did when he threatened to stop selling their tyre as that time he was one of the biggest dealer for that. He too never liked mrf and never took their agency as their customer policies are not really claim friendly. But he too praised this tyre and the Mrf Masseter.
Getting the tyre replaced that too from MRF is purely based on luck as i have already tried that on one of my car and failed.

Well, I used to use the old MRFs from my first gen RC 200. They were puncture prone. So many punctures and cuts that I had to change then at 18-20K. So much so for being a harder compound than Metz. heard the newer MRF's are more softer. Not sure about their cuts capacity. BUT those cuts are normal for any soft compound tyre. But this is deep. It usually is about a couple mm long and hardly a mm or two deep.

Usually my observation - when the tyres are being replaced under warranty, you would see that the bad tyres go bad in a few days or kms. And the manufacturing defects be like the tyres bulge out and all. Otherwise they usually don't.

I agree with you completely @ljs and I know it's nearly impossible to get your tyres replaced FOC under warranty, especially if their from MRF.

But if Bajaj themselves are agreeing to do the hard work of raising the issue and getting it replaced, then honestly I don't see the downside to it. Also by Bajaj putting pressure as compared to be individually doing the same, I believe there is a ray of hope! ☺️

In a not very steep incline(20 degrees I suppose), I noticed that dominar practically dies. I was in the 1st gear with a pillion.. riding at around 20kmph. Decided to switch to second and bike failed miserably. Created a nuisance for a whole bunch of people behind me and me, being completely embarrassed.
I know its weak in the lower rev range but this is outright hilarious! Splendor crossed with a pillion and a sack of grain guys!

Now am wondering if it's just my bike?
There is no point talking to the service center so either tell me that I'll have to live with it. Or I really need some trick to increase the torque output.
Because sometimes, I am not in the mood to rev its heart out.
