Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
No. I felt a decrease in top end.. Pushing above 150 became very difficult. It used to touch 160 quite easily but now even 155 is difficult.Originally posted by leech View PostDominar owners, a request please, did any of you check the top speed of the bike after the ECU update? Is there any increase in the top end?

Pardon for asking, but do you redline each gear when checking top speed?Originally posted by vengalabdj View PostNo. I felt a decrease in top end.. Pushing above 150 became very difficult. It used to touch 160 quite easily but now even 155 is difficult.

Maybe the first 2,3 gears but after that I shift at 7k rpm. No point in redlining then, cuz dominar doesnt have the high end torque.Originally posted by leech View PostPardon for asking, but do you redline each gear when checking top speed?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
had an small accident in office parking and luckily only clutch lever got broke and some minor scratches
Lever replaced ASAP
One question : why the lever package branding is KTM why not Bajaj ?
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
I don't think so there will be any increase in the top speed, as this update was to reduce the lag.Originally posted by leech View PostDominar owners, a request please, did any of you check the top speed of the bike after the ECU update? Is there any increase in the top end?
Most probably top speed will be the sameVisit my Photo Blog - www.vkclicks.com

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Today Replaced the oil with 1.2L of Motul and .2~.3L of Castrol, both are 10W50.The drained oil was very dark and thick with carbon.
Using the old Oil filter, washed it using kerosine spray, and socked in New oil for some time. The front drain plug is untouched, I think we need to care about it only on our 10KKM oil change
Lubed cain also.Ride feel changed a bit, Little more smooth revvs.
Is pulsar 200 oil filter compatible with Dominar?
Over all, well utilised Sunday, even though it was rainy.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi every one its been two weeks since I purchase my bike dominar 400. I would like to share my experience with u all. though I love my bike it gave me an headache with in few days of my purchase.while I am on a ride around evening it was the first time my bike engine stopped in heavy traffic and I noticed engine malfunction indicator light was on and coolant temperature indicator light too . I tried to start the but no use waited for around 10 minutes and tried again bike started.later continued my ride but same problem again and again. my bike almost stopped around 6 times later that day.
Later that evening I called Bajaj service guy and explained what happened they asked me to bring the bike I went gave by bike they told will check the problem and will call me next day.i was waiting and finally call came around evening to take delivery I went to showroom they said the problem was fuel and told not to fill from same petrol station and asked me to drain the petrol if possible.
Later that evening around 8 thought to go for long ride to check the bike with in just 10 minutes during my ride bike stopped in traffic again so decided to drain the petrol and filled other petrol brand and it's was around 11 went for ride around 50 km every thing was fine I thought problem solved. But my bad time was not over . the very next day morning around 9 in traffic bike stopped again but I noticed on thing every time when coolant temperature indicator light starts blinking and when u continue to ride for few minutes engine malfunction lights starts to blink too and right away engine stops. Called bajaj service guy and went to showroom and explained What happened he said there may be a problem in coolant said will check . i went home its was around 10:30 am . Later that evening Got a call from showroom that problem was fixed I went and asked what was the problem the culprit was coolant fan not working and they replaced a new fan in warranty since that problem I done around 500 km everything was fine I am happy with my bike .
So please do check if coolant working or not while taking delivery.while I am talking delivery I ask them coolant fan checked or not they they said Pre Delivery Inspection was done every thing was fine I believed them .So pls don't do the same mistake as I did. As it was a coolant issue while riding at night I didn't get any problem. It was when I was riding around evening in chennai heat u will notice the issue.
I thought I should share this with u guys. I explained The way I could . May be my experience with my bike will help u all in future cheers and enjoy the ride [emoji173]️

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I am 6 feet and slim and i have a slight problem with right hand wrist pain from riding my D400 like a few other people mentioned.
i tried adjusting the lever position angle to no avail so any other suggestions for posture or handlebar/grip adjustment are very welcome.
A pic from yesterday's ride for posture reference
just a bonus pic

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello, I have been riding my bike for months now and never felt pain (I am 6 feet/78KG). However, there have been times when I had to ride in extreme traffic and that did cause pain in both my wrist. the truth is that dominar is a heavy bike. some pressure is expected. but what should really help is your grip. do not hold the bar like a rod.. but like a blade. easy and comfortable grip is the key. apart from that, I do not see any issue with your posture. try this for a few days and see how it goes. after market products are not needed IMO.Originally posted by AxeRunner View PostI am 6 feet and slim and i have a slight problem with right hand wrist pain from riding my D400 like a few other people mentioned.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Took a test ride of the dominar and the fz 250 with a frnd who wants to buy it. The dominar was disappointing to say the least. The test ride bike was in bad shape, completely dried chain, buzzing tank panels, engine snatching even above 3k rpm and the enormous turning radius, but expected from a big bike. Now compared that to the fz 250, although it skims on feature's and raw performance, the superiorly engineered engine is something you cant deny or take away from yamaha. In the end it felt like a match between a martial artist and a pehelwan or a sumo. The compromised vfm proposition frm bajaj is too good to be ignored, that abs and slipper clutch aided in decision gng in favour of dominar. Also we work on our bikes our self, so that's one thing that turned it in favour of dominar. It will nly see the svc cntr fr oil changes etc and warranty purposes! Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
