The service guys drained the oil and filled new oil (motul 7100 10w 50 as they did not have bajaj oil : been bought by me from outside sc). They washed my bike and dried, on insisting they replaced the oil filter after drying the bike.
Then they had the service warning deactivated.

I also had the clutch adjusted along with the rvms.

Prior to leaving the sc, I checked for any leakage from the filter cap and observed nothing, however, on reaching my office i smelt burning oil and smoke fumes were visible. On inspection is observed oily bottom of the oil filter cap - what should i do, should i wait and see if the problem is still there or go back to the sc.

Bajaj says something as a rule and does not follow up whether their dealer follows them or not. They also seem not to be able to provide support to their dealers in respect of spares and timely delivery.

Yes, the bike is smoother now.
Clean and wipe the filter area if and see if the leakage is still there or no , if it is still there the the filter cap re fitted with new o ring , i guess they didn't change the o ring of filter cap which should be the standard procedure it cost only 10 bucks here.
And if the there is oil on the drain screw do not worry some times old drained oil remain sticked there just wash the under side of the engine and wipe it dry to see i something is dropping or not .
But first get the filter cap o ring replaced.
At service standard process is to change oil, oil filter and the filter cap o ring. For any service with oil change.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

There is also a magnetic filter which should be cleaned only.it is somewhere near the drain bolt or is fixed with the drain bolt, see soni varghese aka @zma0101 video on yt for the service.

If it smokes, then most probably its the chain lube.
When the chain lube falls on the hot resonator box or pipe, it smokes.

Engine oil won't burn at such temperatures. It requires a high temp flame to start boiling only.

Guys, has anyone installed highway indicator flasher from best auto? That costs 1000₹.

It's not remembering/storing the pattern I choose. Every time I switch on, the pattern changes. How to fix it? The wiring was done as per the diagram in the manual provided.

One more issue is that I was riding in rain and the indicator started flashing automatically. I know it's dangerous. But I'll have to work on under the seat to resist water as much as possible. Any one facing such issues.

Have you bought v1 of the flasher or v2? because v1 does not have the ability to save the last used pattern, as for it flashing automatically looks like water has entered the switch and shorted it. Try using heatshrink on all the joints and a weatherproof switch, or locate it somewhere water does not enter.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

V2 is the one I bought. I think V1 is for non LED indicators.

Waterproofing, I have to find a way. It was flashing in rain automatically But when I flipped on the switch it changed pattern so I believe switch is not the issue. I might be wrong. Missing the logic though.

There were 2 red wires in the flasher but in the user manual wiring diagram only the thick red wire was mentioned. What about the thin red wire, is it dummy? I have left it without any connection. Might that be the issue?

V1 came for led as well as filament bulbs.
As the bike chassis is grounded and acts as the negative terminal, improperly shielded or wet wires will make the circuit function erratically. Basically any pulse of current the flasher receives from shorting, it will act as an trigger to change the pattern. I guess there are two switches one to change the pattern and one to activate the hazard lights. May be this diagram from amazon will be of some help.

That's how exactly the wiring is done. But if you see the flasher there is one more thin red wire than the red wire mentioned in the diagram.

Regarding the shortage I'll check and update. Will try to relocate or change to a better switch.

Mates i have a problem. My D4's wires(wires to the indicator flasher and to ecu flashing unit) are damaged by rats. I am attaching pics of that. From SC they are telling to change the full wiring kit and it costs around 13000. so now i want to join the damaged part. but i removed the crimped part of wire from the flasher socket and forgot to mark the colour codes. So somebody please put a picture of the colour of wires going into the indicator flashing unit. thanks in advance. i am attaching pics of the part pics i need.Click image for larger version

Thank you everyone for the info. Finally got my Dominar 400 on 5th june i know i am posting it late but i cant help it because i was riding as much as i can in the city as suggested to me, i am sorry i dont remember the names of fellow riders for the suggestions but thank you.
So the bike was at showroom it started raining heavily and later when it stopped the water on the road was about a foot, but i wasnt able to wait to ride the bike so i slowly took her into the water also i was scared that what if there is a pothole in the road and i mistakenly put my feet into it because the road was not visible due to all the water on it, finally took her out of showroom and took it out of the lake (due to water on road) and then pulled her over to get the water out of my shoes . now i started riding so fors thing i noticed that the gear ratio as i am an ex-yamaha rider (fz16) i tried to shift the gears much earlier than needed then engine lugged then i remembered the suggestions of the riders that not to shift before 3k rpm that was really helpful

Vibrations- none felt as i am still riding under 4k rpm due to running in period

yes the clutch height was lowered as suggested here, much easy to operate. Done 600kms in 5 days As i am a maniac for the bikes and also this is my 1st big bike so i am more than happy, one thing which is delightful is that when you match the slipper clutch with the rev matching the downshifts are butter smooth trust me,try that.
the mileage before was 28.5 before the servicing, 29.5 after the servicing both in the city and riding with a pillion, boothe mileage are checked by tank full to tank full method.

power delivery is amazing as its my first big bike.

                    THE SERVICING
Took her to the svc at 9:30am yes i was excited, the service was done at the second floor of the showroom the servicing area was separate for the 150+ cc bikes, for those from indore i am talking about the rajpal bajaj showrooom, yea so on second floor there was a cabin fully made of the glass and nice sofas and an air conditioner this made me think that yeah the bike i have is really premium, the bike was washed and kept running for 10 mins to check for over heating and the bike was on platform now the oil drained filter changed and new synthetic oil was poured of bajaj ofcourse it was also my first time to ride a bike on synthetic oil, and cooland topped up, the terminals were coated with a paste to reduce carbon aggregation on them chain lubed and play was set, clutch play was also set i made him set the clutch play according the the way that was shared here including using the key as the gaping instrument so again thanks much.

after the service the bike had more engine braking, more speed at the same rpm, clutch function and gear operation is so much smoother, engine response is enhanced, torque amazing.

the grip on the wet road found by me was quite nice as i am a cornering junkie and she flows with me simply so i am good with the grip.
Pdi was done as i read it here because i was following the thread from last two months before getting the bike.

So thank you everyone for supporting me and keeping me updated and i hope we will keep helping each other to the eternity.....

Kind of disagree here as i got the delivery of my bike in the first lot and on the 2nd day of delivery and i picked my bike from 3 bikes present in the same shade(since the dealership is a very big one and the got bulk lot on the first 2 days).
I started all three bikes before choosing mine and all has battery and some fule in the tank. But all the bikes there were freshly unloaded from the truck.
Kaise hoo bhai long time no see! 😁 sorry the app got deleted from my phone and then was kind of busy, btw wanted to ask that aapki bike mai bhi hicvups ki issue hai kya? Kaafi log complain kar rahe hai , i only know you as one of the early users hence this! Thanks .

Unfortunately it was Bajaj who spoilt us with the massive fuel tanks of the Pulsars.

With my P220, i used to ride 500km without having to stop. Now i need to take fuel breaks
Hey yes i went on a ride earlier this year and had the same issue, range was more or less the same. I mentioned it somewhere earlier but its dangerous if you risk it on the last bar, better to refuel, i did once but it didn't let me down, funny part however is i dilled worth 600 and gave the dealer a 2000 rs note, as it was early marsh stuff was not sprted for small village dealers and i recieved 1400 backs in 10rs note, took my sweet time to count em too [emoji14]

You at least have a fuel gauge, so use that to get an estimate of when you should tank up. Ride the bike a few months and you will understand when the bike needs to be fed !
13L is low tank capacity ? and you mention that you haven't ridden a motorcycle for more than 6 hours so far in your life!! 13L on the dominar can easily give you a safe range of close to 280km on the highway. Are you someone who can ride for more than 300km without a single break ? I am yet to come across such a rider.. most folks even those who regularly go on long rides take a break every 90~120 mins. Use that break to fuel up. You might say you want to do leh, but are you going to goto leh everyday? This is just nit picking bro

So continue loving your bike and remember it is a machine, and try to experience it's potential as a machine and the tantrums it might throw. For the price you pay, the dominar is a good package.
Have you heard of the guy who sold his honda because it was too reliable ?
Haha continuing on that point yes dominar has atleast a guage i once rented a street 750 and it has no guage or break 😂 you are on your own [emoji14] btw you are right with your point but i also feel its the tank capacity is small, what about a 600 or more kms without a break, crazy shit idea but well, will have to wait for electric bikes for that and a lot of time i assume.
