Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Washing with mild shampoo is recommended and yes, a wet cloth is the right way to do it. Try not to use polishes that are used for gloss finish on matte surface.Originally posted by Ashish saini View PostIs washing the matte black with wet cloth is ok? And the area where d400 is written. Anybody here which has done any type coating on his matte black. Please guide me. Thanks

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Dealer didn't ask me to do teflon coating on the matte black. But I think I should have done it for the glossy parts where d400 is written. It's gotten minor scratches. I might just wrap it in a matte finish if the scratches get bothersome.Originally posted by Ashish saini View PostIs washing the matte black with wet cloth is ok? And the area where d400 is written. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Had been on a short 100 km ride today and while heading back there was some squeaking sound that had started.
I thought it might be the chain or some sand particle might have got in between the break pads.
After getting home, I took it for a short spin and really wanted to know where that noise is coming from and finally got to know that it was the rubber bush rubbing the chain.
Idk why, but I just felt I should open the front sprocket cover and check once
I did open the front sprocket cover and this is what has happened.
I'm taking it to the service center tomorrow morning
And does it come under warranty or do I have to pay for it?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Even if u have to pay it won't cost a bomb. So don't bother. But what you should bother about is that how the rubber slided on the front Sprocket? Strange. Also check the chain slack and tighten if needed.Originally posted by Abhishek Bhat View PostHad been on a short 100 km ride today and while heading back there was some squeaking sound that had started.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
This is the second instance of this problem being reported. I have read a similar case either here or elsewhere on the interwebs. I think i might take a look at my own motorcycle now to make sure i dont have a similar issue. I have definitely heard a similar sound from my bike, i noticed it when other vehicles pass by which kinda amplifies it.Originally posted by Abhishek Bhat View PostHad been on a short 100 km ride today and while heading back there was some squeaking sound that had started.

Should be Covered under Warranty. Don't budge. Don't pay not even a penny for even consumables, if any.Originally posted by Abhishek Bhat View PostHad been on a short 100 km ride today and while heading back there was some squeaking sound that had started.

This is a manufacturing defect, unless, you changed any sprockets or other stuff.
Get it evaluated and get all components, which came in contact with chain / Sprocket are changed.
Also, ask them to properly lubricate the chain once done.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Guys i have a doubt, i dont know whether it is valid or not. I have been pushing my parents for buying dominar for the past 4 months. But they are worrying about the speed and i cant take the bike out of my mind. One of my friend told me that the speed of my bike can be controlled by limiting the rpm using the ECU. Is it possible guys?????

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Convince them by telling the capabilities of dominar to handle that speed safely tell them about the safety features like ABS and dual disc brakes . Tell them there are more chances of accident on a splendor at 70 kmph than 100 kmph at dominar . All the bestOriginally posted by lokeshuv View PostGuys i have a doubt, i dont know whether it is valid or not. I have been pushing my parents for buying dominar for the past 4 months. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I bought the bike 10 days back and I guess Bajaj has implemented this update in this new batches? Because I feel the delay when i disengage throttle at a speed of 70-80 for 2 sec or so. And yeah in early part of rpOriginally posted by Shaijil View PostSure, It's happening after ECU update and only in 5,6 gears and when you are in below 4.5rpm.
Say you slow down to approach a wide corner and reduced speed from 70-60 by de throttling and gear is not downshifted, once the corner is passed you accelerate in a rapid manner then engine takes noticeable time to respond to throttle. if you keep rpm above 4.5 every thing is fine. This is same with straight line acceleration. If you need more details please ask.
From SA the ECU remapping is done to remove 8.5 rpm limit and also to address lugging issue in slow speed.
ms. Can anyone suggest what to do? I had my 1st service yesterday but couldn't realise it in time.
