Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Does that mean it has throttle by wire? Limp home mode is usually available in such systems in case the motor fails.Originally posted by Niks_23 View PostHi.. Just a query... One of the new bajaj dominar 2018 site suggests.. That dominar has a limp home mode..its among one of the many features .. if the engine oil level dips below acceptable levels or condition of the oil isnt good..an initial warning will be provided by the indicator at 110 degrees and if continued to be pushed ..the throttle will be restricted and on continuing further .. the ignition will be finally cut off...is this true...this seems diff from what mojo has ....kindly clarify
Could someone elaborate the same?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
No it is not, throttle is not by wire. Here the limp mode is related to over heated coolant temperature if the coolant temperature rises up to 115deg, then the ecu would not allow the rpm to go above 4500 and owner can ride to home or service center under this range of rpm.Originally posted by Al Quazi View PostDoes that mean it has throttle by wire? Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi folks, been a silent follower of the thread.. planning to exchange my 1.5 years old RE TB 350 for D400.. as I'm finding it very difficult to ride in central Chennai traffic. Hope Dominar is quite easy on such situations. Please let me know whether my assumption is correct or anyone else jumped the ship like me and regretting now

I had 2 res in past and one avenger before this, and believe me i have pushed this bike in unbelievable gaps and over pavements and potholes to avoid Delhi's traffic, a thing which i never did even on my avenger.Originally posted by pirate11n11 View PostHi folks, been a silent follower of the thread.. planning to exchange my 1.5 years old RE TB 350 for D400.. as I'm finding it very difficult to ride in central Chennai traffic. This is my seventh motorcycle and i can say it is is hell lot easier to ride then it looks. Weight is just a number.
I still suggest you to have an extensive td or ride a rental bike to give you clear picture.Last edited by Ijs; 02-06-2018, 02:50 PM.

Thanks! I took test rides in 3 showrooms, handling was miles better that RE, I couldn't feel the weight (maybe i was riding comparatively heavier bike).Originally posted by Ijs View PostI had 2 res in past and one avenger before this, and believe me i have pushed this bike in unbelievable gaps and over pavements and potholes to avoid Delhi's traffic, a thing which i never did even on my avenger.

Wasn't able to test it in b2b traffic yet, that's the only thing I wanted to check.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Go for it. I upgraded from 150 cc bike that weights 148 kg. I dont feel any difficulty in riding in heavy traffic, it feels same as my cbz xtreme, only that warm engine in traffic make me feel like i am riding a 400 cc 180 kg bike.Originally posted by pirate11n11 View PostHi folks, been a silent follower of the thread.. planning to exchange my 1.5 years old RE TB 350 for D400.. as I'm finding it very difficult to ride in central Chennai traffic. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I'm about to pick up my d400.I am really confused about the colour. I'm actually confused between the black and blue. Do I have to take any precautions for Matt Black like in thunderbird Matt color?? And I really like the blue too..I know colour is a personal choice but guys please chip in with your inputs.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I would suggest a fresh oil in place of topup as early oil change is good for health of new engine, along with oil filter and chain clean.Originally posted by AdvenTOURER Nikhil View PostYou can give it for 2nd free servicing ..but I'll suggest you to gain the maximum out of free servicing like

Air filter can be left for 3rd service. You can choose any one if it black one doesn't require any extra care. Pick whichever u like most.Originally posted by vyasvivek View PostI'm about to pick up my d400.I am really confused about the colour. I'm actually confused between the black and blue. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Can anyone share the service bills here for the free service as well as the paid service?
Also want to know the basic spare part prices like the oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, chain sprocket kit, cone set kit, front brake pads, rear brake pads, clutch cable, etc
I would feel thankful if you can provide the exact invoice prices from Bajaj
Planning to get a dominar. So want to know the free service bill cost and what would be paid service situation too.-Sharath Chandra Phani Raja Gopal
