  • Dominar 400 Chain Sprocket noise

    Hi All,

I have chain sprocket issues in my new Dominar. Noise coming from front sprocket when throttling up. Last week I have done my first service and laster on this issue started. When I checked in service center they said its a common issue in all the Dominar it seems. It is very irritating while riding. I do have a video of that don't know how to publish here... Can some one help me how to solve this issue...

Hey Buddy, I had similar issues. I tried cleaning the chain thoroughly, overhauled it and lubed it properly. Also, tightened the chain a bit.
Try cleaning first and then tighten the chain a bit. The sound may disappear.
It doesn't matter what you ride. What matters is, You Ride.

3 no it won't stress the engine. But avoid fill above the inner plate which is top mark. If u fill till the very top it would come out of overflow pipe when u tilt the bike on stand.
        Thanks for Update !

          Hi guys,
Does anyone here know how much do the tank panels cost? I mean if I have to change the colour of my Domi, I would like to change the entire tank outer assembly.

            Just enquired yesterday

            The center part costs 1200
The side wings costs 1070 each
So the whole tank would cost around 3400
And the rear part where the D400 sticker sits costs around 520 for one side

Thanks a lot Abhishek. Very helpful. Any idea about the front masks on either sides?

                Forgot to ask about that.
I don't think it would cost above 500

Handling charges added to the bill is illegal. you can either fight or forget, given the monopoly of Bajaj.

It is the only way , try lifting the seat up while you twist the key to right. But seriously why haven't you opened it for over a year now. There must be something stuck in the locking area or the lock spring is not working properly due to moisture entered during service.
Try putting petrol ,wd40 or some oil in the key hole. If nothing works visit your service center.

I guess riding in rainy season caused mud to go in the keyhole ..but the keyhole operates properly.. let me try today by lifting seat upward

Hi.. Just a query... One of the new bajaj dominar 2018 site suggests.. That dominar has a limp home mode..its among one of the many features .. if the engine oil level dips below acceptable levels or condition of the oil isnt good..an initial warning will be provided by the indicator at 110 degrees and if continued to be pushed ..the throttle will be restricted and on continuing further .. the ignition will be finally cut off...is this true...this seems diff from what mojo has ....kindly clarify
