Make sure that you tighten the chain also
    Hope this helps!

Clean and lube was all that it needed.. Thanks a lot..
No more noise and checked the service center, they said chain is good..
    Cheers mate..!

I have a strange whining noise coming from near the clutch housing when i decelerate. Any pointers on what it might be?

Its a strange whining towards the end of the deceleration cycle, iill try to clean the chain and check it. (never cleaned in 4500 km)

I have seen those kind of discussions here in this thread too, but where is it written to use only by Bajaj.. Check, even their manual says "Oil Grade" and not brand..
This is screenshot of global spec manual, check the details in the Indian spec manual Bajaj Dtsi 10000 10w50 is clearly mentioned in the Indian version of user manual and is also written in warranty terms if i am not wrong.

Check the chain first if dirty and dry then clean an lube clean the front sproket too , otherwise get it checked at your nearest service center.

It is very stressful for the engine, especially in our beautiful road conditions. I've been using Shell Full Synthetic in my 220 and although it still runs nicely(2000 kms but 7 months old), the colour has changed to black already.
How do I know it is working good - engine heats up less and fuel efficiency still remains good. Plus gear shifts are smoother than it was on Motul.
Oil colour is no means to judge its quality, oil gets black or dark even after few 100 kms, it all depends on the quantity and viscosity of the oil.
Good quality fully synthetic oils lasts easily 5000 to 7000 kms and in some cases even more. But 5k is a good interval to change.

You mean to day, the normal engine whine like "wheeeee" when the engine decelerates? If yes, then that's perfectly normal.

                Cheers!

I think you didn't understand my post. It was a reply to someone who asked about it.
I do know how it works and adhere to the most logical path.

Living and riding happily with Bajaj dtsi 10000 10w50 by total. If i ever decide to shift then castrol would be my go to brand in similar grade have suggested castrol power 1 racing 10w50 to a buddy who is facing issues with motul 7100v (level starts to go low after 3k kms) and he is very happy with castrol now.

Thanks for sharing this with me...

Just crossed 2200km, will keep a close check on the level..

Was wondering as a top up is suggested by Bajaj after 2500km.. So it should be related?

Bajaj suggest topup at 5k kms or after it with dtsi 10000 10w50 total full synthetic. 2.5k kms topup is for semi synthetic oil like 20w50 dtsi 10000 which is made by hp and some others like mak etc.
Make sure to use recomended grade oil.
I have done close to 5k kms after last oil Change and the level is still good there is no drop.

Done around 3700kms on bike no major complaints. Just one thing which annoys me is a strong buzz at the 4.5-5k rpm.Is there any way to reduce it?

Also recently I heard a slight whining sound near tank and radiator. What could that be?

Does switching to Motul 7100 oil void the warranty?
