Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Agreed, keeping the rear RIM golden after chain lube is a challenge by itself.. But then again, it stands out coz of the golden RIMs + my Canyon Red and I LOVE IT...!Originally posted by Throttlefreak View PostBike looks good, and the black rims are a relief. I have a hard time keeping my golden rims clean
P.S. I am crazy, keeping it golden is almost every weekend task of mine :P

True, but the wind blast is much much less and the visor looks great when viewed from the front. Hit 145 Km/hr, no wind blast just felt few on my hands.

Golden rims are very difficult to maintain especially the rear one, as there is a lot of chain oil falling on it.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi All,
I am getting 'kat' like sound from the rear area while applying the rear brake, the sound is not coming often but sometime only. when i am at low speed(10-15kmph) or when I am accelerating from zero to about 10-15 kmph and after applying brakes i am getting sound. Please let me know why it is happening is there any big issue or is it normal.
Please let me know the best Bajaj service center for DOMINAR in Hyderabad or is there any mechanic shop best for dominar servicing?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It must be an ABS doing it's job by not letting the wheel lock. You must be getting a pulse on your rear brake pedal when the sounds come.Originally posted by llabhishekll View PostHi All,

It might happen only when you brake and rear tyre doesn't get enough grip and start locking up, but ABS take care of it by not letting it locked. That's when that sounds come. Perfectly normal.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It could be a misaligned rear brake pad or uneven worn out brake pad that might be moving in the caliper.Originally posted by llabhishekll View PostHi All,

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
That kat kat ia probably the abs pulsations do u also feel it in the break paddle like something thing hitting it, if this is the case than it is normal abs working happens in initial speed as rear breaks are more sensitive.Originally posted by llabhishekll View PostHi All,

If not the above then get the disk assembly checked mainly the rotor bolts and caliper.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello xbhpians,
My dominar has done around 4k kms. Recently since last two weeks I have faced engine shutting off randomly itself while driving.
Both the time the clutch was fully engaged and while slow down.
First instance occured when I was doing around 90 kmph and tried to slow down the bike to stop at signal with clutch fully engaged and while braking engine shuts off itself. Any idea on this issue, possible causes.
Is this issue related to ECU, throttle body sensor?
I have also noted that side stand indicator teltale lights is also off during this instance. May be I might have missed during engine shut off time.
Thanks.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks for the suggestion but i am sure the sound is not causing due to ABS in action, as I am not hitting brake too hard that it will lead to skidding of tyreOriginally posted by faysal_khan View PostIt must be an ABS doing it's job by not letting the wheel lock. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If you hear "khat" near the front end when going over speed breakers or braking, your T stem/coneset might be loose or we have a coneset bearing that's gone for a toss. Start off by tightening the fork nut by a quarter of a turn, a two min job at the SVC or your local mech, it should solve the issue. If it repeats again even after the tightening procedure, it's better to replace the coneset bearing/balls. Keep your observations posted.Originally posted by Throttlefreak View PostI can hear the same 'kat' sound, but only if I go really hard on the brakes. Otherwise it's all fine.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Actually it is not the front end. The sound comes from the rear brake pedal. I suppose it is the ABS kicking in.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIf you hear "khat" near the front end when going over speed breakers or braking, your T stem/coneset might be loose or we have a coneset bearing that's gone for a toss.
