To get optimized fuel efficiency, refer the Holy Book called Manual.

Shift at RPM (2) and always maintain above (1) for the best mileage.
For highway rides, stay between (2) and the peak torque RPM for maximum mileage.
For the Apache 200, (1) is 3k and (2) is 4k. For the NS200, (1) is 3.5k and (2) is 4.5k.

Dominar makes peak torque at 6k RPM. So, I think (1) will be about 3k and (2) will be about 4k.

I tried this for 200kms in a 4 lane highway.
Shifted gears at 3.5- 4k and rode it 4-4.5k@80-85 speed and got the mileage of 31.4
Next 200kms i tried.
@ 4k shifting and cruised at 5-5.5k ,90-95km speed. Mileage was 33.4
Solo ride.. new front tyre 28psi
Rear almost worn out tyre 32psi.
New chain sprocket.. oiled and adjusted before the trip.

1- It would be too rigid to handle the torque being supplied from the drive chain.
2- It would make the rear wheel slip, since it's too rigid.
The use of coupling transfers more torque to the slower moving or the already stationary wheel.
3- Coupling also transfers the vertical load from below and the top of the motorcycle to a lateral load, thereby reducing high load on the wheel hub and preventing failure.

1. Check if the handlebar dampers are still in good condition. If not, change them.
2. Try using the older 390 Duke's grips. They are thicker and will make a difference.
If all else fails, use thicker gloves and live with those vibrations. I went with the second option and trust me it works.
