Hi, I'd have filed a complaint if I had some time in hand but battery warranty as per user manual was almost over so I didn't bother calling customer care. Also, both bajaj svc manager and amaron guy just wouldn't listen and bajaj svc was more interested in selling me a new battery. That day I said that I'll come later for new battery and two days later I picked it from another store, call'd the manager and told him that I purchased it from elsewhere and got discount too [emoji23]

I'd left for Nasik from Thane, and on the highway, I was doing a pretty conservative 80km/hr to keep up with a friend on his Avenger 220. The air had a thick layer of fog so visibility was an issue. As soon as the fog cleared, I tried going upwards of 90 km/hr. This is where the bike started jerking violently. The throttle response was gone and the bike was resisting going above 90. It was as if the fuel supply was cut off and the throttle was closed no matter what I did.

I missed out on doing a 100 km/hr speeds that the bike can comfortably pull off otherwise on the beautiful tarmac. I was scared as hell but in the back of my mind, I knew the ECU flash was the culprit. Didn't find an svc in Nasik, nor a dealer and knowing the ECU updates aren't possible on a Saturday since they request for the HEX from Pune, I didn't bother on visiting the service center. Kept doing an 80-89 km/hr, being very careful of not going past 91.

Nasik Pune highway is one heck of a road and I was very disappointed in myself about not have had flashed 117 files. Was pretty much restricted to 89-90, 95 at best and then the violent throttle lag/cut off kept happening. This went on till Mahabaleshwar. Took the bike to Kolhapur on a Tuesday and got the 117 ECU files flashed. The service center guy first blamed low fuel but then acknowledged the ECU to be the culprit.

In any case, the bike is solid, very happy with the product, save the minor niggles that are there. I'd also opened the tank cover and added padding to reduce the tank vibrations. Got a very decent fuel economy of 32 km/hr almost every time, loved how the bike handled in the rain at Kolhapur. I do regret not having tested the ECU flash properly as I'd flashed 118 almost a week prior to my trip. If I'd rolled back to 117, I'd have had a different experience altogether.
Hello Sir, I also face the same issue on my Dominar ABS(2017) after updating the ECU to 118 version.
As I read about the issue with 118 file here, I asked the Service manager to revert back to old version of 117.
But they said that they cannot the select which file to flash as the company recommends the required file according to the chassis number of the bike.

Do I have to wait for the next update? Or should I make any tweaks in the throttle body?

      Regards
      Senthil Kumar

Hello Senthil sir, I think it's better to get hold of another ASC who will help downgrade the firmware than make tweaks to the throttle body. In my case, I am not sure if the throttle body was the culprit.

The acceleration on 118 was smooth as butter and I wish I could still run that version but severely limited me crossing 90 km/hr on the highway.

Bro i couldn't find any solution for this....the only thing i am doing is tightening the chain once ot gets loosened.. thats the only way i found to get rid of the sound.... I think it is happening because of our driving ,the svc guy told me. Its like, if we go in high speeds and suddenly dips the throttle, it will harm the chain it seems. And causes forming stif point and a lose point in our chain. The chain will not be constant. Then it cannot be tightened after a point.. thats what .. and btw how is the rolon brass x ring chain bro?

This happened to my bike rims on very few days of purchase.. It is because the diamond cut aluminium part got corroded by the soap water during water wash..
I don't think Bajaj will replace this under warranty..
Anyway check with the Service Center

Polishing won't help as it would have corroded the aluminum a little bit. Also using abrasive materials would reduce its strength.. It is better to paint the alloy Wheels Completely with your favourite color or just accept and start living with it.

This is a common issue with most Dominars. Mine started peeling within a month. Any good body shop can repaint this easily with matching silver paint. Paint peel is covered under warranty btw.

Yes . I contacted the svc guys and they told it will be covered under warranty. But my warranty period is over... I found a solution for this on internet.... I polished it with 180, 240,600 and 2000 grid sandpaper .. all the corrosion gone and also the shine of the aluminum is gone... I need to buy some polish and rub it onto it for regaining shine.

Actually, it is not corrosion. Aluminum doesnt really corrode under water. Instead, it forms a protective oxide layer which further prevents corrosion. This is some sort of after paint over the rim which seems to have difficulty staying on the rims. You have actually sanded off some of the paint off the rims.
Could you post a picture of how it looks after you sanded it?

I wash my vehicle myself without pressure washers , just a plain hose. So no, it is not due to pressure washing.

Aluminium will corrode , with atmospheric changes , salty water, actually it oxidises. A paint shop guy told me its due to dog pee on the alloy.. he only told the to sand it to fine smooth finish and polish it with brite then put a clear coat on it for preventing further corrosion.. now i hv done with the sanding , ill attach images with this. Now i am happy and hopefully after clear coat it wont corrode further

Hey bros, I recently bought a 500ml bottle of valvoline coolant concentrate. On the pack mixing ratio is mentioned as C:W = 1:4, since the radiator takes 750ml and 250 ml goes into resorver in what consistency should I mix coolant and water? And do I need to use distilled water or normal water to make coolant mix.

P.S. - I've never changed coolant myself so am asking.

You first mix 200 ml of the concentrate with 800 ml of distilled water bought from battery shop to get 1 litre of your coolant. Mix this well and then use the required amounts in the radiator and tank.

If you need little more, you can add 20 ml concentrate to 80 ml water.

I hope this coolant can be used for aluminium radiator/engine. Some coolants for trucks can have nitrates (to coat cast iron engine blocks and prevent rust). That should not be used in your Dominar. Most cars today have only Al engine/radiators.
