    Hello people!

Looking to replace the rear tyre on my 2017 Dominar in Delhi. Had gone to the MRF Office in Moti Nagar but apparently their service centre is closed and they don't know when they'll open again. Any idea where I can exchange my old tyre and get some discount on the new replacement anywhere else in Delhi?

Hey Guys, hope you are all doing well [emoji846]

Today morning when I switched ON my bike I saw that the speedometer, and LEDs above the tank fuel filler lid starts blinking and speedometer went blank. I suspected dead battery so took it out and gave it to a battery charging shop. He said that he will close his shop soon so take it in an hour. I am not sure how long he charged the battery but when I went to collect, the battery was disconnected and kept on a rack. I brought it home and after connecting when I turned on the ignition key I saw some code sort of message on speedometer everything lights up and I heard a very slow Fuel Injector noise. Upon hitting the starter I hear Tak-Tak noise from area under pillion seat and sometimes speedometer, leds fluctuate and go dim. I still feel that battery needs more charging so basically how many hours do I need to charge the battery?

          Battery is under performing.

You can confirm by inspecting with a multimeter.

The interesting fact is that tomorrow is the last day of Battery Warranty as it completes 18th Month on 15 August. I call'd my contact at Bajaj Service centre and explained him everything, he asked me to come tomorrow with user manual and battery to claim replacement. Shall I try charging again or go with the claim?

P.S. - I've checked and couldn't find any loose wire, cuts or blown fuse.

Don't bother with charging, just get it replaced.

Friends, i have a 2018 model domi. Im facing two major issues that are the tak tak sound when riding coming from the back. I think it is the chain hiting the swing arm. When i tightens the chain it goes off.. and the second thing is when the front wheel hits patch worked roads ( steps on road) it feel a hit and a tak sound and it feels on my hands too.. it is only on speeds

And guys do not get the chain fully tightened as there should always be some amount of slack otherwise it would snap.
Bro are u telling it is not from the chain? There is a tak tak sound on my bike too. I thought it is the chain touching swingarm.. anyways can u explain how to solve this

What i meant was not to keep the chain fully tighten up. There should be a chain slack between 20 to 30 mm, and chain is bound to hit the swingarm at some point that's why there is a chain slider. And if u happen to have metallic slider lock in place then the tak tak would be more in slow speed while going on broken patches.

Importantly the frequent abnormal chain slapping depends on how is the condition of chain set , if it happens to get lose to frequently then it is time to change.
How many kms have you done on this chain set and how is the condition of sprockets, how many stiff points are there in the chain?

Now again for the front noise, how many kms?
The noise could be from cone bearing, it might be in need of re greasing or replacement. Another thing could be the lost rubber spacers in the number plate bracket or something lose on the headlamp.

Thankyou bro. My bike had ran around 23k kms.. i changed chain and sprocket at 13k.. yes there is a metal slider. Should i remove that ? Im properly lubing and servicing the chain i think so... Chai is in normal condition. . three days back i gave it for chain adjustment in svc and even after that it is hitting the swing arm (not much but anyways hitting and producing sound).. and about front sound, its only when passing through step cuts on roads. Like unfinished patches . Not when falling into pits and potholes.... How to check if con set is gone?

Don't remove the slider lock, and replacement at 13k kms is bit on a earlier side should have easily lasted 18 to 20k. Something you are doing or getting done isn't sufficient. As you are again at 10k kms on current chain set make sure you give a proper inspection to sprokects and chain tension and cleaning don't be too hard on throttle from the word go.
For cone set , it is usually required post 15k kms so it is good time to get it checked.

Update : So, I went to Bajaj Service Centre to claim a new battery and guess what they didn't honour the warranty. On the user manual it's clearly mentioned that the battery warranty is valid for 18 months from date of vehicle sale. The manager even clicked a pic from the user manual and sent it to his contact in Amaron but they kept on giving lame excuses like the Battery MFR in 2018 and that calculation is done differently etc.

Now, I was in no mood to drag this matter further bcoz my battery gone kaput on 14th August and warranty was valid till 15th August. I knew this matter won't get resolved in a day and later they will say that "Sir, warranty is over we could have helped you if you had come sooner". I asked the manager for a new Amaron Battery for which he quoted Rs. 2,100 and he wasn't giving any discount in exchange of my existing battery, I mean like Seriously?

So, I went to my nearest Exide Dealer and bought this Xplore XLTZ9 Which I got for Rs.1,800 in exchange of my Amaron. As expected, after installation my Dominar roared back to life in a single click [emoji846]Click image for larger version

It completely depends on your SVC, Mine also had an issue and it was 1 month past 18 months when i faced issue. I went to SVC to get it checked if i need a new battery or i need to charge it and everything would be fine later. The service engg told me they were busy and to drop vehicle and come tomorrow, Later the next day he informed me it needs replacement and they informed me it was already done under warranty , I was confused but didnt say anything but left with my bike and new battery, with small service charge paid

You should have atleast called the bajaj customer care service and registered a complaint or searched for the contact number of some higher ups and explained your situation to them.

It's not just about a matter of 2000rs or inconvenience, it's about right or wrong. Now that your bike is running, happy riding
