Which parts do you recommend they need to change?Originally posted by Indivar View PostIt's a hollow pipe inside the bottom part of the front suspension. A sub assembly which sits inside the outer part. You will find many diagrams online.

That is an official upgrade... Trust me.Originally posted by Indivar View PostHad the same issue at 3000 km, make sure they replace the fork pipe along with the oil seals. The first time they just replaced the oil seal, and within 50 odd kilometers, the oil seals gave way.

This looks like a 100% custom job, not an official upgrade. I have seen those poorly finished forks before. Iam sure Bajaj is working on upgrades, but this isnt it. These websites are so desparate man, really. They say "In the new variant, the main instrument cluster is very much like the KTM Duke 390’s", yet it looks like the same old instrument cluster. So what the effing hell are they rambling about?
Those black rims show this is from the original lot of motorbikes.Last edited by Ghostfreak; 10-17-2018, 10:40 AM.

Any idea when it is likely to launch? In Ahmedabad, dealer says not in near future of 6 months. I want to buy but not able to decide to wait or not to wait for new version.Originally posted by Ghostfreak View PostThat is an official upgrade... Trust me as I've ridden it.

Maybe around diwali or year end. You should wait as it is a good upgrade.. i can't confirm on dohc setup for the new engine but if it is dohc then is worth waiting forOriginally posted by Kshah View PostAny idea when it is likely to launch? True. Websites are listing features with such confidence as if they are the ones making it. About this being a custom job, I don't agree. Cause the dual barrel exhaust and usd shocks are the same as shown in the new post by powerdrift of a dominar in camouflage.Originally posted by Indivar View PostHad the same issue at 3000 km, make sure they replace the fork pipe along with the oil seals. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks for your time man, i appreciate all the help i can get for now.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostThe 220 always will be one a cornerstone in the Indian motorcycle scene, such a lovely bike that one. Well, to your query as to what will happen after opening the engine? Nothing will happen, as long as the proper amount of sealants are used and all the parts should be where it should be, the bike should run fine without any oil leaks. This being a gearbox issue, the entire engine has to be stripped down, gearboxes split (assuming there is a problem in the cog) and then installed, so yes it's a tedious and time consuming operation.
Let them do their work, visit them daily if you can and observe what's happening. One thing with Bajaj mechanics is do not push them to do what they do, they terribly mess things up when did so. Give them their time, plan your visits daily and a little chai paani goes a long way.
Nonetheless keep your observations posted.
Cheers!

I did file a complain with bajaj so that they have an official record of whats happening, i know this will come in handy if things go wrong in the future with the process.
An update for all you folks that this might be useful for.
I visited today for a followup,
The two parts that have been ordered are
1 x Gear 3Rd-4Th Drive| - part no - JY551229
1 x Gear 4Th Driven| - part no - JY551235
more information here - https://www.99rpm.com/bajaj/gears-dominar-400.html
And the expected wait time is freaking 12 days minimum. They won't even know if they have the part or not,
to know if they even have the part in stock, it takes 3 days to find out which is ridiculous.
I will keep editing my original post so that everyone can look at it at once glance instead of searching around for the entire story.

Did he cut a wire?? Was it from the SVC?? Chances are that, if the stock wiring of a bike is modified, the warranty of the bike is void.Originally posted by NirmalDushman View PostHow much are the charges for installing the mobile holder with charger ?
(My friend did it yesterday from Nana peth, that guy attached the charging cable to brake light wire by cutting it and charged 200 Rs for that)

I think you should check out this video : youtube.com /watch?v=MpxtpFRcYoU
(There are issues when the page is rendered with a hyperlink)
Also as you mentioned "In the new variant, the main instrument cluster is very much like the KTM Duke 390’s",
I believe you need to read properly the entire statement which says:
"In the new variant, the main instrument cluster is very much like the KTM Duke 390’s, in terms of information displayed (average speed, distance to empty, actual fuel consumption etc)"
I am not here to defend rushlane or any other media site, but you need to be crystal clear when you blurt out half baked information!
