Re: Tail lamp stays on even though brakes are released.
Normal fuel should be OK as long as it's from a trusted source. COCO pumps should be the way to go. You can fill premium fuel once in a while. But make sure you fill good quality and quantity of fuel. You can casually visit the service center if the brake light thingy is still coming up. Shouldn't be a big problem for them to rectify. Pulsar genes are still intact then if getting to neutral is a pain 😂😂Originally posted by jani-boy View Post

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

Re: Tail lamp stays on even though brakes are released.
Break light issue seems like something related to the actuation switch either at the front break lever or the rear Break paddle.Originally posted by jani-boy View PostOh I already did read the manual. I've PDF's on every device I own (no kidding) since the day I decided to go ahead and buy the bike. That's why I mentioned I've never gone beyond 73 km/hr ever. [emoji14]
The brake light issue isn't due to moisture. I just checked it. It doesn't dim itself. Keeps glowing as if the brakes are pressed even when they aren't. I think the wiring below the pillion seat is messed up.
Overall, I think it is a good bike. It does scare me when I get into a pothole. I fear that the alloys will crack. Other issues are pretty much the same, it so damn difficult to get that thing into neutral.
And hey, Speed/Power or normal fuel? Dealer suggested Speed/Power. I topped it up once with Power and the next time with normal fuel.
Thank you for the wishes.
Nothing serious.
And for fuel , recommended grade is RON 91 which is the standard fuel sold all across india. For regular use standard fuel is good enough though u can full power or speed once a while as recommended by Akash in the previous post.

Re: Tail lamp stays on even though brakes are released.
Oh great. So I'd go for the normal fuel this time too. My daily commute is around 60 kms to and from office, that means I'd have to tank it up once every week. I'd get it to the service station this Monday and get back to you'll regarding the brake light thing. I seem like the first person to have come across such a thing.Originally posted by Ijs View PostBreak light issue seems like something related to the actuation switch either at the front break lever or the rear Break paddle. On a side note, I wanted to ask if you guys shift the gears when the engine rpm light comes on. I might complete the initial 2k run-in in about a month, and although I love riding the way I do, it's tempting to open the throttle once a while.
Also, has anyone tried replacing the headlamp LED's instead of resorting to fitting aux lamps? Can we not replace the LED's with higher illumination ones?

Re: Tail lamp stays on even though brakes are released.
I dont know why do they ask to follow some speed in run-in period. Does that mean i can rip my bike in 3rd gear and keep it under 73kmph everything will be fine i think -NO. So in 6th gear 73 kmph comes at 4000 rpm marking on the tachometer so they are basically telling us to keep bike under 4k rpm and jani boy here is your answer regarding gear shifting that it should be done below 4k rpm. I am not an expert but seems logical. Ijs badey bhai theek kaha?Originally posted by jani-boy View PostOh great. So I'd go for the normal fuel this time too. Haha yes. They should just mention that keep the engine under 4k RPM. And also shifting gears at 4k rpm results in smoother shifts.Originally posted by Cruisemonk View PostI dont know why do they ask to follow some speed in run-in period. Key thing is to keep the acceleration gradual no ripping in any gear.
Post 2k kms one can explore beyond 5.5k range and can max out once a while but not always. And another important thing is to do a oil change at 2nd service too as the first few oil changes are important for engine's health.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Na 29 or 28 front and 32 rear, don't go above recommended tyre pressure only 1 point variation not more than that .Originally posted by jani-boyCongrats buddy.
Check for panel gaps. The indicators, head and tail lamps. I had 3 KM on my odo when I took delivery. Oil, brake fluid and coolant levels should be between the min-max marking. Open and close the fuel tank lid. Accelerator, brake, and clutch should have some play.
Once you take the delivery, get to the nearest petrol pump, fill fuel if required, get the air pressure checked. Maintain a 32 psi on both the front and rear.

I am also in run in ,covered only 1400 km but i have revved it 3-4 times till it redlined and it was not intentional this thing just shoots and if you are not looking at the console you l not even realise.Originally posted by jani-boy View PostHaha yes. Re: Tail lamp stays on even though brakes are released.
When I went for my first free service at Kanchan Bajaj Ulhasnagar, there was some cluttering sound coming from Handle Bars. The mechanic removed the cone cover and replaced it and rev'd the Bike to 6-7k RPM for 2-3 times.Originally posted by Cruisemonk View PostI am also in run in ,covered only 1400 km but i have revved it 3-4 times till it redlined and it was not intentional this thing just shoots and if you are not looking at the console you l not even realise.
Luckily the sound was gone. However, after 1-2kms I noticed that the engine was running very smoothly.

Cant comment on this ye sab veham hai sometime i feel my dominar smooth sometimes rough so i ignore evrything and enjoy the ride best thing is that 98℅ of the vehicles runs behind me . I must tell you one instance from the moment i use to feel that my handle is tilted towards left and showed it to 5 people including a renowned mechanic who is also my neihbour, he ran it at 70 kmph and left the handle and bike was moving straight he said that if the handle would have tilted it would have drifted in one direction and from that day my handle is straight .Originally posted by nishiparate View PostWhen I went for my first free service at Kanchan Bajaj Ulhasnagar, there was some cluttering sound coming from Handle Bars.
