Single is available, here in delhi it is 615 for one indicator at bajaj svc.Originally posted by sauravdyakuza View PostSome noob broke my right indicator at the rear. The wires have broken.
Can this be fixed?
I mean do i have to purchase the whole indicator light set of 4 to fix just one.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Chain sprocket question. At 13,000 now and i have been cleaning and lubing the chain very regularly. Chain has stretched to the 4.5 notch mark. I have adjusted chain but still hear noise. On a paddock stand, i hear chuck chuck noise from front sprocket which was not there before 10000 kms. Talked to SC, they said i have to get the kit @ 4000. They won't sell the chain only. I suspect this is a 520 size 120 link chain. They say Bajaj recommends single piece chain so cannot use from Diamond or Rolon.
I get choppy performance only sometimes when changing gears. I can live with it for now and wait for September after rains. But i am tempted to change so i can get a better ride. Has anyone changed the chain sprocket kit. Was it a big difference for you. Please comment.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
hi, just curious to know if i give full throttle will the fuel injector start spraying fuel in fast speed or the speed remains constant on any throttle..
basically i need to know if we ride on a speed of 60kmph the FI sprays at a normal speed and if we ride at 90kmph or above does the speed of fuel sprinking speed turn out to be fast than normal ? i need to know this regarding mileage.

More throttle = more fuel = stronger explosion of fuel = faster stroke = higher rpm = faster speed.Originally posted by AdvenTOURER Nikhil View Posthi, just curious to know if i give full throttle will the fuel injector start spraying fuel in fast speed or the speed remains constant on any throttle..

Also faster rpm = gases are ejected quickly = incomplete air mixture and inefficient explosion so effective fuel efficiency drops.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostMore throttle = more fuel = stronger explosion of fuel = faster stroke = higher rpm = faster speed.
So it's not just that machine does more work due to high rpm but it becomes more inefficient as well and mileage drops.

This is definitely not the reason.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostAlso faster rpm = gases are ejected quickly = incomplete air mixture and inefficient explosion so effective fuel efficiency drops.
So it's not just that machine does more work due to high rpm but it becomes more inefficient as well and mileage drops.
At Higher RPM's the combustion is more efficient, because of the faster compression of fuel air mixture by piston.
However the resistance from air, is so high at those speeds, it keeps slowing the machine. To overcome this, vehicle has to generate more power and torque and rotate more faster to surge ahead.
Fuel combustion rate has nothing to do with Fuel efficiency.
Check the big cars with 2.0 liter diesel engines, they give almost 22 odd kms per Leter, however in city, they cant even run 10KM on a liter of diesel.
Why so?
Because of the final Drive ratio, which plays an important role ensuring the optimum RPM at the most frequently used speeds. This is the deciding factor.
The bajaj ct100 delivers over 100 KM per liter on a highway at constant 40 Kmph speed, but splendors with just 97 cc hardly give you 70. Why? its the final drive ratio and gear ratio's which affect these factors.
Note that vehicle engine is a pure piece of machinery. What ever the RPM is, the process is same and it works the same. The factors which influence FE are
- Speed and air resistance at that speed.
- RPM at which the vehicle is running.
- Final Drive ratio.
- VVT or other kind of magic, if present.

Chain is made by rolon u can check it, on my chain i checked today there is the r logo.Originally posted by deepDmnr View PostChain sprocket question. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Fuel injection works on the exact same basis as a carburettor. The difference here is how the fuel is metered. Fuel injection uses various parameters to inject the right amount of fuel. We all know more fuel means more power, but fuel alone cannot give you Millennium Falcon like performanceOriginally posted by AdvenTOURER Nikhil View Posthi, just curious to know if i give full throttle will the fuel injector start spraying fuel in fast speed or the speed remains constant on any throttle..

. Air is a very critical aspect, if not more than fuel. The fuel injector not only sprays, but it can widen and shorten the duration of the fuel spray depending on the need. Wider fuel spray means more fuel, more power, lesser fuel spray means lesser fuel injected and lesser power, and this is determined by the throttle opening. Simple as it seems eh!
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hello Guys, I wanted to know,
1) Approximate Quantity of Fuel Injected at the time of Cold Start and later in the day ?
2) Is it advisable to Turn off Engine for Signlas which are more than 60 Seconds ?
3) Does filling fuel to brim stresses the engine compared to Half Tank ?
Thanks !

1 Can't tell.Originally posted by Aniket_Apte View PostHello Guys, I wanted to know,

2 yes.
3 no it won't stress the engine. But avoid fill above the inner plate which is top mark. If u fill till the very top it would come out of overflow pipe when u tilt the bike on stand.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi All,
I am facing chain sprocket noise issue after my Dominar first service... Again I head back to service center and asked they just did chain tightening and ask me to take test ride, still issue not resolved than they said its a common issue in Dominar 400... The noise is coming only when throttling up.. I do have a video of that I don't know how to publish here... Can someone help me to resolve this issue...
