Ijs bhai can shed more light on this sab unhi se seekha haiU can safely do 5 to 5.5k rpm all day . The company has set it as the safe limit. It is not a 100 or 150cc engine it runs on higher revvs. Just try not to hold one speed for too long if i am not wrong u would be close to 100kmph at 5.5k.Originally posted by TCHAT View PostThanks buddy!
U have done 6.5k rpm on the new bike safely i use the rpm and speed variation technique.
Don't worry too much and after all bajaj has set the 5.5k rpm limiter as safe for the engine till 2k kms.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes you are correct 5.5 is about 103 if I remember correctly. But I will be mindful about the rpm limit and the speed. I guess 4.5 should be good for highway rides as the engine will not be stressed either. Most of my rides are in the highway so I end up on a steady speed of about 85 - 90.... And noticed the rev limiter light come on at 5.5 so pulled back to 85.Originally posted by Ijs View PostU can safely do 5 to 5.5k rpm all day . The company has set it as the safe limit. The best part the... bike did not feel stressed and was willing to go further.
I almost did the classic 500 but super glad I got this instead.
Thanks for your inputs!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
No need to ride at 60kmph it is too low and u won't be able to use all the gears. When I bought 220 avenger i was told and it was written in manual to try not to ride above 75kMph for 1000kms , so for this bike sixty would be riding like a 100cc.Originally posted by Om1234 View Posti can understand

Stay around 4.5k rpm till 1000kms and post that 5.5k rpm for next 1000.
The power band for this bike kicks in ar 3.5k rpm , best it to shift gears at 4k rpm first at 3k rest 4k.

Thanks bro. Worked like a charm.Originally posted by zequirkynetizen View PostTry doing this. While trying to find neutral, give a little throttle while having the clutch lever pressed, you should be able to slide into neutral effortlessly.

I am also in running in period. I change every gear at 4500 rpm. But just once I went upto 120 on odo. I just can't wait to feel the midrange of this bike as upto 4500rpm it is like driving an ordinary bike.Originally posted by Ijs View PostU can safely do 5 to 5.5k rpm all day . Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
hello guys,
i am recently experiencing a very spongy feel on both front and rear brakes, although breaking job is perfect i think the feel and the bite is missing, i know with ABS you dont get that typical bite from the brakes. however i have come to know that the break pads used on dominar are of absolutely low quality organic pad. i want to upgrade to fully sintered break pads. will using sintered pads improve the feel of brake? what are my options? does the duke 390 pad fit into the dominar? i have come across EBC break pads, are they any good and worth the premium price tag? if anyone has used different break pads please share your experience.
thanks," Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window."

Was that after the rain? Or any contact with the water? I too have the same problem. For first few hundred KMs, the front felt nice and good while the rear lacked the bite. Now both are spongy and I am also looking for some good aftermarket brake pads.Originally posted by aashray223 View Posthello guys,

Thanks for sharing your experiance i will try changing break pads and see if it solves the problem and no i don't think it's because of rain it has been always like that it's just recently it's getting more of a problem during hard breaking." Try cleaning the pads first before changing. And also make a habit to clean the disk rotor with damp cloth.Originally posted by aashray223 View PostHi jerry_E

If break pads are clean then try the break bleed.
