Hi guys I've been following this thread for a long time now I'm planning to buy domi in jan . I'm very confident that the Domi is a good bike from bajaj . There are some issues but I know bajaj product I own a pulsar200 dtsi (2007) so I know it's not a deal breaker . The only question I have is even when this product is so good y does it not sell in good numbers I am just worried that bajaj might stop selling it in a couple of years as they did with other products .what's your thoughts guys please help me to make my decision. thanks

Cost. You can buy 3 activa’s at cost of one dominar.
FE. Domi gives hardly 25 to 30 in city. Every one can’t maintain at this FE
Weight. It’s slightly on heavy side. Remember average Indian male height is around 5.6 feet. So many might not feel good enough on dominar.
If u are comfortable with above, dominar is for you.
The story of first pulsars was same too. I bought one initially and ran it for over 1 lakh km over 6 years.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have clocked 1001kms (shagun ke 1001 kms [emoji12] ) . I haven't came across such issue. Never got so much confidence to hard brake in emergency situations on other bikes. I think spongy feeling might be because of the ABS kicking in. Get it checked with SVC first. Might save your money before going for aftermarket brake pads [emoji106]Originally posted by aashray223 View Posthello guys,
i am recently experiencing a very spongy feel on both front and rear brakes, although breaking job is perfect i think the feel and the bite is missing, i know with ABS you dont get that typical bite from the brakes. however i have come to know that the break pads used on dominar are of absolutely low quality organic pad. i want to upgrade to fully sintered break pads. will using sintered pads improve the feel of brake? what are my options? does the duke 390 pad fit into the dominar? i have come across EBC break pads, are they any good and worth the premium price tag? if anyone has used different break pads please share your experience.
thanks,It doesn't matter what you ride. What matters is, You Ride.

Anyone who can help me out?Originally posted by neeljinwala View PostFolks from Bangalore, can you suggest a good Dealer as well as service centre for dominar around south Bangalore?
I am fine travelling extra mile for services etc if the service centre has skilled mechanics who won't ruin the bike.

I visited Amba Bajaj (Bommanahalli, Bangalore) and asked them to look at their stock in stockyard. I am currently interested in Twilight plum colour and there was 1 dominar with that colour. I clicked the pic of its VIN. I am not able to decode it much but my gut feeling says that it was manufactured in August. I checked the VIN from a matte black dominar and there was well using VIN my gut feeling said it was manufactured in October.
I have 2 queries here:
1. Has Bajaj stopped production of Twilight plum colour and the dealer could be selling me an old unit?
2. Does any one have VIN decoding cheat sheet for bajaj vehicles? The ones i searched online doesn't fit in properly and are mostly available for cars. Dealer is unaware of VIN decoding.

Yeah, twilight plum had been stopped some 2 months back I guess. I read in some article. I haven't confirmed with the showrooms though. A bike from August lot should be trouble free from the problems that the initial lot had. U can definitely pick that. Just check for damages & odo reading before choosing.Originally posted by neeljinwala View PostAnyone who can help me out?

Different manufacturers have different decoding for VIN I guess.Ride Safe!

Might just happen. But not so soon; nor would it affect the service availability. I think it selling more than what should be expected in this range.Originally posted by shaik4023 View PostHi guys I've been following this thread for a long time now I'm planning to buy domi in jan . Plus Bajaj's bad service experience is strict no for most premium segment buyers.
Every time, I at the service station, I see at least 2 people complaining. The same perception that TATA has to deal with. Beautiful machines at affordable price. But service is a downer.
