Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I would not do any long rides until i get used to the bike unless you are used to balancing 200 kg of metal between your legs. Also do a break in as suggested by Ramachalla before continuous ride. Plus if there are electrical, mechanical issues, give them time to surface.Originally posted by ananthuthilakan View Post

Can I fix the double sided tape under the plastic tank at home or I have to go to Service Center. Can you please tell me little about the procedureOriginally posted by Ijs View PostStrangely never heard this from any owner here in delhi and trust me i can not tell u the condition od roads we have here.
And why only 65kmph. Try exploring the limits and i believe it will grow on u and the vibes will get better with usage. Tank vibrations can be fixed by placing double sided tape under the plastic tank. And for engine vibes get the mounting bolts tightened there are three of those. Hope u start enjoying the bike.

Yes if u can open the plastic tank u can Apply it, i haven't done this but give u the reference in pics . Other than this specific place u can see apply it on the rubber which is on the metal tank or any gap u can think can cause it.Originally posted by Jayanta Kumar Das View PostCan I fix the double sided tape under the plastic tank at home or I have to go to Service Center. Dude, are you sure. I am new so confused. Progressive is the correct approach unless one is running out of stopping room. No point losing a fundamental skill like braking due to an abs fitted bike.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostForget about the ABS and brake progressively, just like on a NON-ABS bike.
Don't let the ABS kick in, ABS kicking in means you will take more time to stop.
But as per most videos and literature, the only time abs fares worse on stopping distance is on gravel or off road.

ABS is just a rider aid.
Its there to help when you brake progressively just like on a NON abs bike and still lock tyre because of low traction, where on a non-abs bike you would fall on tarmac or what the surface be .
The more you let the abs interfere the more it takes time to stop, even on sand mud or gravel.

On the contrary the ABS kicks in as soon as the wheel locks , and this is why some times we can feel the pulse in the paddle even on low speed breaking. Only way to bypass ABS is to take the fuse out and make it shut.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostAm sure dude.

But yes progressive breaking is always helpful, ABS or no ABS.
I always use progressive breaking but abs did cuts in even on low speed as some times wheel can lock due to lose or wet surface even when we apply very minimal break force.

We should use progressive braking on non Abs and abs bike, even progressive brakes can make the day bad on non ABS bike on low traction wet gravel etc.Originally posted by Ijs View PostOn the contrary the ABS kicks in as soon as the wheel locks , and this is why some times we can feel the pulse in the paddle even on low speed breaking. This is where the ABS must help us.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If this the case, something else has gone wrong with my bike now. You see.. at low speed as well, my front break is randomly jittering. It is random and it is happening under normal breaking conditions as well. I know this new because this did not happen in the past.Originally posted by Ijs View PostOn the contrary the ABS kicks in as soon as the wheel locks , and this is why some times we can feel the pulse in the paddle even on low speed breaking. Are you sure its wiring in rear seat, as i am also facing this issue and the tak tak sound seems to be comming from the left side may be it is suspension but it is screwing me.. 😟😟Originally posted by sman999 View PostGuys, the bunch of exposed wiring under the rear seat is making noises when running over pot holes or undulations, especially within city. It's quite irritating. Any body came up with a jugaad?
Also has anyone tuned suspension to a more softer setting? Can we do it ourself at home?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Its not the seat or the suspension. Check the tool kit and fasten it properly. If that doesn't fix the issue, check the rear number plate mounting which has probably gone lose. Even if it feels sturdy from the outside, tightening it will fix the apparent khat khat.Originally posted by harry032701 View PostAre you sure its wiring in rear seat, as i am also facing this issue and the tak tak sound seems to be comming from the left side may be it is suspension but it is screwing me.. 😟😟
