Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
No VJ. Fernanda was of the second lot of Dominars. She didn't need an update. I had put up the rpm query with the service manager and he said he will check with the ASM for South zone during the next meeting and update me. I think that might be the cause for random fuel economy and some random hiccups at the lower rpm range.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostRide Safe!

Would love to get get more information regarding this. Though fuel does play a role, I wonder how well the fueling has been calibrated, hence my question if it was the case with all the D400 owners. Keep us posted Maneesh.Originally posted by sman999 View PostNo VJ. Fernanda was of the second lot of Dominars. She didn't need an update. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Hi Shriomman.Originally posted by shriomman View PostI would highly recommend you to buy the bike from sitara motors in navelim,,margao. The service here is much better as compared to the dealership in panjim, I've serviced the bike at both places and I'm letting you know from experience. Also all the colors of the dominar are already available there, they say it takes one month to take the delivery, but if you know the owner or higher end staff I think you can get the bike within 3-4 days too. I remember this situation when I bought my p220 back in 2009. Anyways if you do buy the dominar, maybe we can meet up someday. I live in margao
Are you going for the ride on 26th march which is organised by Sitara motors, if going we will meet there, by the way I am from Colva.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes i feel the bike is very comfortable in traffic here in Delhi. And it is very easy to maneuver and get into tighter gaps. So far i haven't face any heating problem.Originally posted by nikhn View PostHello everyone,
I'm looking to buy the Dominar 400. I had a few queries.
1. Is the bike reliable and comfortable for city traffic like Bangalore? I'm looking to commute from office to home and vice versa of around 40kms.
2. How is the service quality? In Bangalore which service centre is good?
3. What about the bike issues one is facing? I've read a few issues like starting problem and vibrations.
I'll be switching over from a KTM RC 200.
Since I'm planning to keep the bike for at least 3 years I need to know whether it is worth it. If not, any other options?
Service quality here in delhi is very acceptable.
There is major issue with any bike it dose have the normal big capacity single cylinder buzz present from 4k rpm onwards, but it is not a deal breaker. Post ecu update the new map has restricted the rpm at 8.5k and also there is lil sluggishness in acceleration post update. New bikes are coming with the updated ecu so.
Since u are shifting from RC you would find it More comfortable to ride in city and relaxed and compose at highway. Your pillion would also appreciate the comfort.
But you would miss the wildness of KTM.
In city u can do relaxed riding at 3.5krm in 5th it is very relaxed till 60kmph and in sixth ,post ecu update i can cruise at 3.5k rpm at speeds of 65 to 70kmph i a very relaxed manner. On highway i have done 130kmph at 7k rpm and the engine is not at all stressed. One can comfortably do 100 to 120kmph without any fuss. Breaks are also very good with assurance from ABS.
I advise u to have a proper td , as few guys i met who have shifted from d390 are missing the pickup and wildness of KTM but appreciating the comfort.

Ha ha ha i weigh only 60kgs and 5.4ft height. I have no such issues . Weight of the bike can only be felt at standstill or while trying to lift it , i mange tight parking slots by getting off the bike and pushing it in and out. On the road i can easily push it in gaps which i do not enter even on the avenger.Originally posted by nikhn View PostThanks for the reply. I weigh 74kgs. Weight is only a mind thing and you would get ahang of it.

The best part is that, when you upgrade to a 600-800cc bikes.Originally posted by Ijs View PostHa ha ha i weigh only 60kgs and 5.4ft height. I have no such issues . They would weigh around 200kg.
Dominar400 owners would feel more at home compared to guys coming from under 150kg bikes. 😀
Cheers.

Street triple Dry weight is 168kgs so with fuel and all oils it should be same as dominar.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostIs the dominar heavier than the street triple new versions and old :/?

Best solution to deal with heavy weight of bike is to run the bike more so that it can lose some weight. Early morning runs are best. Bike would lose some in form of fuel and rider would gain in form of pranthas😂😂
