Could you notice and tell where exactly the vibrations are coming from. If it is from top of the tank , it can be the secondary black plastic console which is vibrating try keep pressing it for a few minutes and check after that if it works get it refixed. Also there are drain holes in tank panel so get them checked.
If the vibes are from middle of the tank, the side panel can be lose, u can check it by measuring the flex in the thigh parts. Also there are few connectors , adapters, and wires under the tank which can be causing it get the tide up properly and would do the job.
If the vibes are from the bottom part than it could be the lose radiator shroud or the side panle the chrome one making the vibes.
      Hope it helps.
Also if nothing works shoot a mail to bajaj's customer care id given in the manual they would help. As bajaj is taking Dominar very seriously and responding to all complaints emails. Also do post ur problem on the Facebook page of dominar400.

And above all do not worry everything would be sorted out soon just be patient.

        Hi Vivek,

Though as per the manual the first service is supposed to come up within a month or when the bike reaches 500 kms, i got a call from the service centre within 20 days. Since I was travelling I requested them that I shall give it the coming Monday since that will be exactly 29 days. They agreed reluctantly. I did point out to them that the bike has not even touched 400 kms and that it has only been 20 days since purchase, then they agreed.

So i guess if its been more than 15 days, you can call and ask them.

Oh Boy!, some things never change I guess. I remember when I had purchased the NS 4 years ago, the service centre had kept my bike for 5 days in the first service! The reason, the only mechanic who had any training to work on the NS was on leave. Even after 5 days, I got a bike which looked like it was untouched and had gathered enough dust that it looked like a desert storm!

I remember finding a better showroom to get it serviced then, but I feel with my upcoming service too (though I have been assured it will take 24 hours), I will be revisiting that horror!

With regards to the issue I came upon another thread where one user had a similar issue. Here is the link to that thread. https://www.zigwheels.com/forum/post...ormance-issues

Now I am quite curious as to whether any of the D400 owners here had faced a similar problem or not. It seems to me that the ECU is not allowing the RPM to go past 5000 when in gear. The reason I am thinking this is the case is because, the idling RPM is correctly showing 1500, so this rules out the display issue. The only difference between his and mine is that I didnt go past 90, where he had a power drop and I am yet to experience that ( I somehow managed to touch 86 after wringing the throttle for a while but didnt press further as it was a bit scary). Also it got auto resolved after 800 kms for that guy. How is that even possible? I thought they do the ECU update during the first service to limit the RPM to 8500 and after 2000 kms it goes back up to 9500. In any case I am due for my first service day after tomorrow, so I will try explaining the situation to the service engineer there and see what comes up.

Maybe the new bikes come with an ECU update from the factory that restricts the running in RPM.

              Hey everyone,

First of all I would like to thank everybody on this thread for sharing their experience and insight about the Dominar 400, so much so that it convinced me to get one myself.

I got a blue Dominar 400 (ABS) yesterday and I am super excited just thinking about the trips I'll be taking on it.

However, I have a few concerns that I am certain people on this thread will reply to.

              1. I have read about vibrations on the secondary console above 4k RPM and have noticed the same on my bike. Just wanted to know if the vibrations subside after the first service?

              2. I rode my bike to work today (about 21kms) and noticed the ABS didn't turn on. The service centre employee told me it kicks in after 60kms (which I found rather odd), but it didn't even though I crossed 60 2-3 times.

              3. Does anyone else have a owner's manual? I did not get mine yesterday.

              Thanks,
              Joash

If that were to be the case, shouldn't the service guys or the sales manager handling the whole thing tell you that the RPM is limited when they deliver the bikes to you. I am just drawing conclusions based on what I am experiencing. I mean the onus of it shouldn't rest on the customers to find out what is or isn't.

                @GuyBiker

The ABS kicks in after you have crossed 10 kmph and not 60kmph(!!). The ABS light goes off after that speed. Also you get owner's manual now unlike earlier where some didnt get it.

Often times the service centre guys themselves don't know what are the full features of the bike. This buffoonery is not limited to Bajaj alone, but other manufacturers as well.

Do send a mail to Bajaj customer care with specific details of the problem. Chances are, you will get a proper reply.

Book it bahi i have no complaints on any front. Vibes are part of package in a big capacity single and here it is very negligible and not a deal breaker.

                        Hey guys,
So I'm posting a month late now. After many confusing days, got my midnight blue Dominar on 13th Feb from Kalyani Bajaj, Bangalore. Followed the service manual and running in period till 1000kms and did open up then. Now she's at 3050Kms odo today doing pretty fine. I'm really happy with it. But again as there are pros, there are cons too.

                        What I felt good:
-Power and acceleration even at higher speed for someone coming from an 1983' RE Bullet.
-Did a long trip to Hyderabad from Bangalore, didn't feel tired, riding seat is good for long distance.

What I felt not so good:

-Lights are incapable infront of oncoming high beam vehicles, had to slow down a lot during night.
-If 6th gear, speed drops below 54-52kmph, feels like no petrol no power unless gearshift.
-Vibs starts at around 78kmph for me which unless riding hard doesn't bother else cruising at around 100 is also giving buzz kind of feeling at handle and footpedals which is annoying.

Right now happy about my decision and happy about my domi! Even the first service at Kalyani Bajaj, Bangalore was a pretty good experience. The service manager, Anthony, let me see my bike during service, answered my questions with a smile! That's how a good service is IMO!

                        Few questions:
                        1. Does anybody else have vibs continuously above 80kmph to 150kmph? Like a buzz at handle and footpegs?
                        2. I've had rpm limiter blinking at 150kmph while on straight clear road of hyderabad highway. Is that the top speed cause people claim it goes more.
                        3. How do you lube the chain if not at service center? I live 70kms from an authorised dominar specific svc. Doing it with side stand lifting seems risky.

Would suggest that you Google and read up on what ABS is and how it functions. Will help you in the long run. It doesn't work how the noobs at the SC make it out to be.

The buzz start at 4k rpm and remains there through the rev range but it is very mild.
Vibes are part to the package in high capacity single cylinder engine for better refinement we need more than one cylinder. This would get better with more oil changes.
Post ecu update the rpm limiter cuts at 8.5krpm so it is normal do check at what rpm the light comes on. And the engine makes it peak power at 8k rpm so no point revving it beyond that and putting undue stress on it.
You can try using the car scissor jack for lifting the rear wheel place under the right side swing arm and slowly open it to a point when the wheel is in air. Or you can buy paddock stand or a cheaper one called moto jack.
