Can you send a pic of carb unit in your D400?

If you can prove that I will donate my D400 to you for free. It's a promise.

He isn't claiming that there's a carb. He just wants to be sure that there's no carb so that he can complain about kiirus to the Bajaj guys.

I mean he can tell the same to kiirus about my offer.

How do I get in touch with that mahan purush?

Guys calm down, there is an ECU present on our D400. Period!
Please don't rake this up again and start a useless discussion!
I've complained to Bajaj about the high idle rpm and they asked me to take my motorbike to the service centre for check up.
The service manager went to his office/cabin and brought a Bosch (probably obd) device and connected it to my motorbike, I saw the diagnostics the device performed and he showed me the details of software to confirm that my ECU update was at the latest version and nothing can be done to solve the high idle rpm problem.

So as Benz said, if anyone is making claims of a carburetor in a D400, then let them rip apart the motorbike, take pictures and send on this forum.

          Cheers!

In my opinion...If you need more power...You are better off buying Duke 2017. Than trying to convert Dominar into what it is not.

What did they strip in D400 and still couldn't find ECU? Strange

I wonder what update can he do without even identifying the ECU. It's very easy to locate any ECU. Just follow the wiring and a bunch of wires will go to a single device.

In KTM, the ECU is under the tank cover.
I think some kids of Kiirus engineers stripped the bike!

Well I think this ECU discussion is not of xbhp standards!! Common people we are on 216th page of d400 thread and discussing this silly thing? Let anyone claim what they feel, found, ecu, pcu, kirrius or whatever...why we are downgrading level of thread?

Well, according to info online, CDI units are OBD2 compliant. Example : Mercedes B180 CDI has an OBD2 port for diagnostics.

Just because it has an OBD2 port, and a bunch of wires leading to it, and the output on the phone, doesn't mean it is an actual ECU. It could be both.

Bajaj hasn't answered my mail on whether the D400 has an ECU or a carb.

                    Guys chill!

D400 is equipped with (closed loop) FI.

                    1. There's no carb.
                    2. There's no CDI - thus implicitly meaning there's an ECU.

Kiirus made a severe mistake with their post/findings.

Hey Guys! Just to digress from all the heated discussion about the existence of ECU - I finally booked the D400 - Moonlight white! Will be taking the delivery on 29th April 2017. However something else happened too - when I went to the dealer with whom I had made a deal about my existing Discover 100 - I broke down.

Couldn't hand over the keys to him, cancelled the deal, wept and became a laughing stock for everyone around. But I took small steps towards the bike, kissed him and brought him back. So now I will be keeping both the bikes - however impractical it may sound. Thank you for listening to this small tale of mine. I feel good.

You took your time, Chetak! But seriously, heartiest congratulations! I was wondering why you haven't posted your inspection and delivery experience yet. On the other hand, I gave him a cheque in the morning to took the delivery in afternoon. and I understand the feeling of exchanging another, mint condition bike. but It's never impractical to keep 2 vehicles at your disposal. anyway, dont think about ECU mapping and other tweaks immediately. Buy good quality headgear and do proper run in. My plum red becomes smoother, efficient(29+ KMPL) and stronger everyday.
                            Cheers!

I have not seen the video shared here, and am a total noob when it comes to opening up parts of the bike or disconnecting battery terminals, so may need to take it to the service centre or ask my old mechanic to help out after seeing the video myself.

Kinda bummed out that such issues are cropping up. I mean since its happening with so many people, Bajaj seriously lapsed in the testing part i guess. And I do realize that this is a serious issue because if it happens in the middle of an overtake, one may end up becoming the hood ornament of the vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Service center would not do the reset u have to do it by urself. It is very easy just needs 45mins.

But I was just going in constant speed 50-55 kmph. I have not even opened the throttle. So It was not supposed to skid with that speed and in new tyre. Tyre pressure was ok may be little bit more
New tyres would take around 2k kms to provide optimal grip , even in the dukes manual its says to take it easy for first 2k kms for metzs which are more softer and gripper than the mrf. So take it easy grip level would increase or shift to perillie Diablo rosso 2 or 3.

Thanks for understanding brother. 😊 I don't have any plans for tweaking anything in my bike anytime soon. Though the throttle loss problem I am reading everywhere is making me worried...
