Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yet the same. But it's from the chain. When u tighten the chain there won't be any sound but even when there is a little slack in the chain, the chain hits the swing arm by some means. The SVC guys hav no idea.Originally posted by harry032701 View Post
I tried removing the tool kit and the number plate.Originally posted by xearoum View PostRide Safe!

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
The sound is due to the Elevated box which is below the rider seat. when you go on the rough road or potholes it hits the cross member which is having the chassis number printed. Restrict the movement of the black container kind of thing and you will be free of that noise.Originally posted by harry032701 View PostYes i also tried removing the toolkit the sound persists, and i will go for the chain slack adjustments and will update here soon.. thank you for the valuable suggestions.

i'm also facing the same problem...when i go through the small pothole or a speed breaker i hear that annoying (tak tak) sound. as i'm automobile engineer i remover all the possible parts and checked but no use. so today eve i decided to go service center and clear the doubt.Originally posted by harry032701 View PostYes i also tried removing the toolkit the sound persists, and i will go for the chain slack adjustments and will update here soon.. thank you for the valuable suggestions.

The footrest is fine on mine.. but i do feel like my left leg on the footrest feels more pressure than on the right one.Originally posted by aknedved View Posti'm also facing the same problem...when i go through the small pothole or a speed breaker i hear that annoying (tak tak) sound. as i'm automobile engineer i remover all the possible parts and checked but no use. so today eve i decided to go service center and clear the doubt.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Can't comment on this as never felt any such jitters as in low or crawling speed i use rear break mostly so only felt jitters on the rear paddle. So yes get is checked up to clear any doubts.Originally posted by xearoum View PostIf this the case, something else has gone wrong with my bike now. You see.. at low speed as well, my front break is randomly jittering. It is random and it is happening under normal breaking conditions as well. I know this new because this did not happen in the past.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If u r talking about the round shape box which can also be seen under the pillion seat, then it is the charcoal canister of the Evap system. And the tak tak sound can be from the dangling obd port. I have kept a cleaning cloth in that area and there is no tak tak.Originally posted by Ravishankar View PostThe sound is due to the Elevated box which is below the rider seat. when you go on the rough road or potholes it hits the cross member which is having the chassis number printed. And guys do not get the chain fully tightened as there should always be some amount of slack otherwise it would snap.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so apologies if I'm breaking posting rules.
I bought the Dominar 400 from the first lot. I recently got the ECU flashed and noticed something odd. The idling RPM seems to be around the 1500 mark. Is that normal? I don't recall the RPM before the flash. Does anyone know anything about this?

Here are pictures of my Dark Horse. The only additions I've done to the beast are custom hand guards with complete alloy strengthening. I've also added custom carbon feel tank pad / traction pad along with the fuel tank lid scratcher.

Hey mate. Welcome to the group. The only posting rule is to use good language and keep it healthy. Remember this, XBHP is a place where no question is dumb question. Riding rules is - always follow traffic rules and never go on the wrong side of the law. The most important thing is riding gear. The generic idea is, spend at least 10% of the bike's cost on getting riding gear - Helmet, Gloves, a good riding jacket and shoes.
That's it for being a senior 😂
Now, congrats on your Domi. She is a beautiful a bike and may your love affair with Domi blossoms like rains of Cherapunji.
You've been given a religious book with the bike - manual. Go through it as if it's gonna come in Board exam or Semester exam. It should have the idling RPM mentioned. Domi is fuel injected bike so whatever is the ECU configuration, it will fire up the baby(assuming Domi is like your girlfriend) like that. Just chill, relax and don't think about fuel efficiency numbers right now. Do a proper run-in and enjoy the ride. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be smoother on the throttle and fuel efficiency number will go up. Again, manual has all the run-in procedures. Read through it and you should be good.Regards,
Akash Yadav

I appreciate the gesture and your valuable inputs.
I do have the necessary gears and have been religiously using them for the past 3 years (A sharp rated 4 helmet, full length protective gloves, a Rynox Tornado Pro jacket and scoyco knee pads.)
As for the idling RPM, I guess I'm just being finicky since I'm in love with the bike. Always have been. I do treat it like my wife, not my girlfriend. My relationship with motorcycles has always been based on mutual respect and admiration.
Fuel efficiency is not a point I even want to talk about. That was pretty clear when buying a 400cc bike.
I look forward a fantastic experience and gaining some knowledge from XBHP seniors.
Respect,
Mechnizmo

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I saw a Dominar 400 user today (Tuesday, 20th June) in Pimpri, Akurdi Chowk, after I got out of Gems Bajaj showroom. Brand new bike, I think it was white. Was it someone from here?
Anyways, checked out the Dominar 400 in the showroom today. Looks pretty great to me.My first bike, Dominar!
