To tell you actually, they must be two different varieties of oranges but oranges they both are.BTW Sudhira has got the D400 sponsored by Bajaj free for his 12000km Trans Asian ride up to Siberia -when he met me in Nov2016 after his Leh ride,he said that he was kinda tired with the constant frentic nature of the KTM bike.D400 is much better in that department as to move effortlessly and jerk free at slow speeds as stated by another participant's glide modeGot ur point sir, sudhira really is a seasoned rider and to ur glide mode comment just he he he he.Originally posted by zestbiker View PostOh ,that glide mode participant is you Ijs 😀
True buddy that is the ultra glide mode but hard to find space in Delhi's traffic to do that.Originally posted by I Ride Alone View Post6th gear glide mode is at 70 KMs.
Ecu issue is not a big one but a common one , and is already been under a process to find the cure. Yesterday team from Bajaj pune collected data from many bikes and did reflash on few, and they would be doing the same today. And all riders who went there yesterday are assured of a solution very soon lets see what they do today. They are at Krishna motors Gurgaon today .Originally posted by jidhinml View PostHi friends
I am new to xbhp and have been following this thread for months now .Thank you for all the inputs ,it will shed light on many aspects for a prospective dominar buyer like me.I took two test rides .The first test ride was at a showroom in Trivandrum .The gear shifts were all very noisy,The engine was not smooth for my liking .Then after the ride i left unimpressed and almost gave up the idea of owning one.But then again my friend had suggested to try another ride at my place as he thought the first test ride bike could be abused and not serviced. So i approached the dealer at my native place and they said test ride vehicles are only available on Tuesday every week.So i went there on my unicorn and took the ride.Oh my boy....It was awesome...The engine is smooth,The gear shifts are smooth except the first gear which is no major issue at all.The breaking was excellent at 90kmph.I fell in love with dominar instantly ....It was love at second sight
...Now should I buy it now or wait for a couple of months more so that some issues with ecu and all get sorted out. Also it will be monsoon here in kerala next two months,So my question is whether there are chances of considerable price hike in two three months time....Price hike up to 5k is okay with me if they get some issues sorted out.
Free snacks were there yesterday and they gave some riding gloves as a token of trust.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
I have a doubt. Which coolant is used in Dominar. Bajaj koolex or Motul Infugel? Service center has only motul in stock. I have to top it up. And regarding Engine oil can I use Motul 10w50 while topping up? There is already Bajaj 10w50 in my Engine. I am planning to top it up at home.

Hi Buddy,Originally posted by VeVi View PostHey Guys,
Today, I was in Bajaj Showroom in Bangalore (100ft Ring road, Banashankari) to book a Dominor. SA quoted as OTR Bangalore is 191,868/-. When I checked on net last night, OTR was 174,xxx. Now there is a difference of almost 17,000/-. I didn't book one today, instead thought of inquiring few more Bajaj dealers in Bangalore.
Dominor owners from Bangalore!, could you please let me know the OTR at the time of purchase of your bikes? Also, these guys says that, no freebies are offered and I can see that the head light on/off switch is present on those vehicles. I doubt that these bikes are of old stock?
I requested for White/Plum. SA confirmed, it is readily available. Could you guys please let me know can I go ahead with the booking?
Here is the total break up
It was initially available for 178,200 in Bangalore.
current price is because karnataka government increased the taxes recently and also 2k price hike by Bajaj. One option is to wait for GST to be rolled out. The price might come down.
It remains unclear whether Bajaj would increase the price again.
Of course no freebies offered as it is new bike
Hope this helpsLast edited by johnsnow79; 05-18-2017, 11:30 AM.

not at all smooth bike. and service is very bad. even bajaj service person dont know about bike.
fz25 does not come with abs so i bought dominar. i want ABS as priority. so dominar is cheapest option available.
in last 86days of ownership my bike was at service station for total of 9 days ( 4 times ) and still problem is continue.

Hey Man, I am not a Dominar owner currently, but I am a prospective buyer and have followed this thread diligently from the get go.Originally posted by Live free ride hard View PostBro I m a fz25 owner want to buy Dominar for my bro. Being a Domanar user can u guide me?
Here are the reasons why I would advise someone to go for the D400 -
1) VFM!! HUGE VFM! you get double channel ABS, a 373cc engine with 35NM and 35PS of torque and power, one of the most beautiful headlights in the field and an imposing and refreshing look
2) safety is key, and ABS is mandatory IMO, unless you go for the D390 or RTR 180, you dont have other dual channel ABS bikes around
3) Power! Cruiser! Its got the power, its got the ride quality, you can cruise, at speeds that your RE's cant. All without really numbing your body.
The main drawbacks -
1) a buzz, read vibrations, in the 4k RPM range. Please note, this is not a deal killer for many.
2) ECU issues, like a power lag , should be fixed sooner rather than later, again not a deal breaker
3) lack of fairing
4) for a cruiser, it lacks the refinement of the splendid Mojo , but Mojo lacks an ABS, so you know.
Its a very good upgrade from a 150-200cc bike. and probably the best <2L bike in India as of now.#Shadowfax Apache RTR 180 ABS - 2014 - 2019
