Understood. That the weighing bits are there for balancing. But the question still remains whether the alloys will sustain the beating in the long run. The only way to find out is to ride it... [emoji7] [emoji7]

Because the engine power numbers are measured in a lab without the bike. Engine only. There is a reason why KTM and Kawasaki and formula race engineers bust their behinds to reduce kerb weight. Even a few kgs make a big difference on road. The numbers printed on a brochure are marketing material.
Odo of bikes have some 5% error. So don't believe all that is posted in the internet. FZ25 takes around 9 seconds to 100kmph, while dominar takes around 8 seconds. https://www.indiacarnews.com/news/ya...uke-200-16943/ And weight of the rider also matters in bikes unlike in cars, as it is significant. So power to weight ratio should better be calculated after adding 60kg to both bikes, that gives better idea about acceleration by Newton's formula. And sadly FZ25 doesnt come with ABS option, govt should make it mandatory for all bikes above 200cc.

Agreed. I am not trying to say fz25 is faster than Dominar. It isn't. But it's quite comparable as a power commuter given the 250cc and lower weight. If it came with ABS, I would be choosing between Dominar and FZ25. 373 cc would have still won but at least we would have a choice foe e. g. incase of budget issues. Bad choice by Yamaha. Kudos to TVS and Bajaj for bringing ABS to market.

Government has made it mandatory, was supposed to start in April, for bikes/scooters over 150cc, ABS mandatory and for 100+ CBS is mandatory. Don't know the current status of the legislation!

TVS a pioneer at this! Got a proper dual channel ABS in 2012 itself. My first bike was the apache ABS , because I felt it was mandatory, especially for anyone who is not a MotoGP racer. Was disappointed by Bajaj's Single channel gimmick for RS, but kudos for the abs on D400Can't emphasise how relevant and important ABS is. Has saved my ass at least 3 times so far.

But the Apache 180 abs had a hell lot issues, problem with sensors the next of purchase etc..

And the ABS of rs200 is single channel which is not a gimmick, on a full faired bike you need to do more braking with front, rear is light.

Other thing is you can't switch of the abs on Dominar, while doing little off road with abs the braking distance will be high, sliding the rear is not an issue thats why the Duke390 and many adventur big bikes have supemoto(single channel and mode) with little rear slide you stop quicker.

            Cheers.

ABS mandate is not from this April. ABS & CBS is mandatory from Apr 2019

Not really. I have had the Apache RTR ABS, the beast version bike from 2014 and my friend has had the Apache since 2012. The sensor issues do occur on a few bikes but is not as wide spread.

By gimmick, I mean that they should have offered a full ABS for 20k! Apache was offering Dual channel for just 10k extra.
And I disagree to the fact that you brake more with the front cos its faired. Personal choice on the distribution and a rear lock is never good in many situations.

Yes, the off option is needed. due to the nature of gravel itself, that it tends to accumulate on braking, that tends to aid quicker braking without abs.

I swear that I remember the implementation date as April 2017, did something change with the bill itself?

In my bike there is big improvement in sluggishness and othere who have done it also having positive things to say like no lag , missing and reduceed jerks. One guy was throwing a treat for me yesterday after doing ecu reset.
Reset done.did a short test ride. Engine braking has reduced. Bike engine feels free as compared to before. Great suggestion. Though i loved the engine braking after overtaking. Will find out during daily commute tomorrow.

Rode without helmet during test ride and realized chain is quite noisy. And i have been cleaning and lubing the chain. Needs adjustment.

Give your bike few more kms and engine breaking would become normal, and for chain noise without helmet it always sounds more , but bhai avoid no helmet riding.
The biggest improvement in my bike post reset is that the sluggishness which came after ecu update has reduced . If u like the results do let others know so thag they can also benefit.

Look for uneven panel gaps, inspect paint with ur phone light, inspect both disk breaks, listen to the engine sound , have ride on more than one bike if possible, check all electricals, open the tank and peep inside.
Let the bike to idle for 10 mins fan should kick in after 10mins or 15.

Get ur secondary console re fixed it should solve it, if it is the fault. Or else check the chrome colour radiator shroud it could be lose.
